THE SKY IS FALLING!!! (OR IS IT?)

Suddenly the airwaves are reverberating to the sound of war drums. Call-up papers may drop through letter boxes at any moment. What the devil is going on?

Is it merely that a whole panoply of highly paid top brass are in fear of losing their jobs? Not their lives in a war. In fact quite the reverse. Do they in fact see their lucrative jobs disappearing as a brand new geopolitical paradigm takes shape? A new paradigm that relies on agreement rather than aggression, dialogue and debate rather than death and destruction, building bridges rather than burning them? In short, a multipolar world where a general tolerance for modes of governance takes over from the rabid need felt by a section of the world to impose itself on all others.

A great many of us have been scratching our heads recently as talking head after talking head bewailed the end of a West-insured peace at the hands of lesser humans from all quarters of the east who were bringing war. But were they, are they? Is China beating the war drums? Is even Russia, engaged as it is in a military operation that it insists is not a war. No declaration of war has been made and, if truth be told, Russia’s action does in fact remain a limited one, it is not a war. If a war it was Kiev would be a mass of smouldering ruins by now rather than a city where life goes on more or less normally.

What is going on?

Why are these well heeled military mandarins crying wolf so very often these days? What are they truly scared of? Could it be that their comfortable sinecures are threatened? That NATO, an organisation that came within an inch of losing its reason for existence at the end of the Cold War, could be once again threatened by a permanent peace breaking out?

NATO has used the fear button time and time again in recent decades. Like the police without thieves and priests without sinners, NATO without a war or threat of war, becomes redundant. So many career ladders are at stake, so many children and grandchildren need putting through an elite education system somewhere. So much status and self-worth may go down the Swanee if NATO no longer has a place in the world.

And if NATO falls what happens to all those whose salaries rely on NATO, the backroom boys and girls and all those little service industries, not to mention the “defence” industries that rely on new orders coming in. What about all those fine metal vehicles that need maintained and lovingly looked after? The NATO matrix is enormous. Contemplating the whole thing going belly up would simply be unconscionable, would it not?

NATO: MAKING FEAR PAY

The above would be NATO’s mission statement in world where things were always given the right label. Fear has served NATO incredibly well. Many might think there are fears enough to keep it going in perpetuity. However, this would be missing the bigger picture. The unmistakable signs of a wholly different world are emerging and emerging on an almost daily basis.

THE MULTIPOLAR WORLD

A world where one country or even one country and its proxies could dominate everyone else is ending. The signs are clear that multiple nations are shucking off their chains, long held tight by the western powers. They are beginning, one after another to snub their noses at their one time jailers, abusers and exploiters. Now the fear is reversing in direction. It is headed west these days.

The world that nations such as China clearly hope for is a world where trading, communicating, dialogue, agreement and cooperation supersede in priority what kind of system of governance divides nation from nation. That new world seeks the long run solution of maintaining links rather than breaking them with violence. The order of the day is to find ways to understand each other better, not how to batter each other down.

You can perhaps understand therefore why some people in high places are screaming “War!” so loudly now. Fear is certainly in the air. But that fear is not of coming war… but of peace.

RUSSIA, EMBRACED BY THE GLOBAL SOUTH, WILL ULTIMATELY EMERGE FROM COLD IN THE WEST

The collective west cannot do without Russia. Sooner or later, with a Russian victory in Ukraine, the western powers will have to accept Russia back into good standing.

The renewed welcoming of Russia into the western orbit is already starting to emerge. Recently, after an election which brought Robert Fico and his party Smer (Direction) to power, Slovakia will now reestablish relations with Russia. Already the Slovak Minister of Culture has announced that cultural exchange programmes with Russia will be restarted.

In Hungary the prime minister Viktor Orban also has an increasingly friendly relationship with Russia after coming to a mutually beneficial agreement on the supply of Russian natural gas to Hungary.

Both Slovakia and Hungary now approach the situation in Ukraine in the same way, having an identical stance on not supplying the regime there with military aid, instead concentrating solely on humanitarian aid. They refuse to support adding to the futile continuation of military hostilities there (the NATO stance) and instead advocate negotiations aimed at establishing a ceasefire and ultimately an end to the war.

‘Slovakia's newly appointed Prime Minister Robert Fico will not back further military aid for Ukraine nor support further sanctions against Russia.’

- Reuters

In addition to the above Slovakia and Hungary are refusing to sign off on the EU plan to provide an additional fifty billion euro so-called aid package (over a four year period) to Ukraine unless the resulting outcomes are strictly audited and a new vote on whether to continue is held each year. The EU mandarins are currently seeking to strip Hungary (and presumably Slovakia) of its voting rights. This undemocratic process along with withholding of funds is inexorably pushing Hungary eastward.

Germany is suffering from the fallout caused by the ending of inexpensive gas from Russia. Now in deep recession Germany is steadily deindustrializing. The Green Party, in power along with others in a coalition government seem content with this situation as a Germany impoverished but having less of a carbon footprint suits them. However, it is surely the case that the German public will not tolerate this lowering of their life quality (of which they have been very proud in the past) for long. The chances are very high that the present coalition government will fall. The result of this will surely bring a more Russia-friendly government to power.

‘At least part of the country’s poor performance has to be blamed on its reckless energy policy which relied heavily on imports of cheap natural gas from Russia and a premature decision to shift to renewable energy when the infrastructure wasn’t ready.

While the German people and the businesses based there are suffering, so are investors.’

- Forbes

Italy is currently led by Giorgia Meloni, a political actress who posed as a radical activist to get elected and who then immediately looked for elite EU backsides to kiss. The Italians must surely have realised quite quickly how they were duped and vote more carefully on the basis of the old motto, ‘Once Bitten Twice Shy’. Meloni has curiously taken Italy out of China’s Belt and Road Initiative at a time when Italy has plunged deeper into an economic crisis.

‘An Italian government crisis, once so frequent as to be a near nonevent, has exposed the fragility of a Europe contending with rising energy prices, a plunging currency, faltering leadership, and a war in Ukraine where time appears to favor Russia’s resolve over the West’s uncertainty.’

- Angelo Carconi/EPA

Once again, as the economic situation in Italy worsens the appeal of inexpensive Russian gas to fuel economic growth will rise and voters will vote for the parties supporting this reversal of earlier policy by Meloni and her European backers.

As most of Europe enters recession Russia is achieving higher and higher economic growth. The economic and financial weapons the collective west used against Russia have failed one after another. The nations expected to join the West in attacking Russia instead drew closer to her and formed even more economic ties with Russia than before. Future prospects appear bright indeed whereas the West, continually embroiled in conflicts requiring vast financial expenditure, looks destined to fall ever deeper into an economic morass.

Russia is moving inexorably to achieve all her goals in Ukraine. Once achieved it is inevitable that the relationship of previously hostile political elites to Russia will move toward a re-establishment of normal relations. A strengthened Russia, backed by the growing number of BRICS members and those who remained good friends when the western powers became enemies cannot help but move gradually back into a favourable status in the West. Western nations desperately need Russian energy and, with their economic weapons failing to seriously damage Russia they will finally have to confront the inevitable, they need Russia far, far more than Russia needs them.

APPROACHING THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF RUSSIA’S SMO: TWO QUESTIONS

Western leaders & media elites have been shocked by the ability of Russia to overcome powerful economic attacks upon it while winning a gruelling conflict in Ukraine. What can we learn from this?

WHY DID RUSSIA INITIATE ITS SPECIAL MILITARY OPERATION IN 2022?

Russia was pushed far further than any western nation would have allowed itself to be pushed. The pressure was immense and unrelenting. In addition, the Russian leadership was actively duped via the Minsk process where the western powers merely stalled for time pretending they sought a peaceful resolution to the situation in the Donbass. There, the Ukrainian government had immediately moved to use the military in 2014, the most reckless and irresponsible thing they could have done. This led to violence that had not been there when the Russian-speaking majority rose up in response to the insurrection against the president and government they had helped vote into power in elections given a positive scorecard by the electoral inspectors who supervised them.

Sending the Ukrainian military to the Donbass in the Spring of 2014 was the worst thing that the US/EU-installed authorities could have done. The troops that travelled east brought with them the extremist ultranationalists who saw the Russian-speakers in the Donbass as vermin, as sub-humans. They were completely conditioned in their mental processes to think that way in cult-like form due to having imbibed an entire mythology based on the Nazis having assisted Ukrainian nationalism. That there was going to be violence due to this approach was entirely predictable and so it was. These militants set up their mortars and delighted in firing at random into the villages, towns and cities occupied by the Russian-speaking majority. In the main these hit high rise buildings such as Soviet-era apartment blocks, hospitals and schools. Those that did not hit these exploded on urban streets and town centres killing civilians at random.

The attacks upon the virtually helpless civilian population of the Donbass drew Russian volunteers into the mix and they began building what came to be called 'Self-Defence Forces'. 2014 and 2014 were the years of slaughter when thousands of civilians died through incoming mortar shells and from time to time missiles. Since 2014 some 15,000 plus civilians have died.

In 2014 those who defended the Russian-speaking population appealed to Vladimir Putin to allow the two newly-formed republics to join the Russian Federation. He would not hear of this but in 2015 he worked through the Minsk process to obtain a degree of autonomy for them so that their future could be secured and guaranteed. As we now know, the Minsk process was used a sham perpetrated by the then Ukrainian regime and its western partners. It was a ruse constructed to stall the Russians and to build up the attack potential of the Ukrainian military which is why we are where we are today.

Neither successive Ukrainian regimes nor the western powers had any intention to move things toward a peaceful resolution. War was the goal... and finally war it was. Zelensky talking openly of regaining Ukraine’s nuclear status didn’t help either. Russia could see that there was never any intent on the Ukrainian regime’s part to make Minsk work. On top of this, as a last gesture to retrieve the situation at the last moment Russia made requests both to the U.S. authorities and to NATO offering to work with them to create a new security architecture for Europe that would shield everyone and ensure peace. These were rejected. This was the final end of all Russian hopes to find a way to resolve all issues involved peacefully.

HAVE RUSSIAN GOALS CHANGED IN ANY WAY SINCE IT BEGAN ITS OPERATION IN 2022?

Russia will win this war, mainly because the desire to win it to safeguard not only for the security of the Russian-speaking population but for the security in posterity for Russia herself is overwhelmingly strong. Nothing will stop the Russians from achieving these goals. Nothing whatsoever. When the western powers failed to bring down the Russian economy it was already over. Russia will win and fully deserves to win. The western powers and their tools in Kiev certainly do not.

Ukraine has lost with many hundreds of thousands dead to no good purpose. It is on life support and now risks the loss of any potential economic viability as a unified state. It is looking increasingly likely that large parts of Ukraine will be subsumed within neighbouring states, Hungary and Poland, initially as protectorates within a temporary arrangement worked out by the EU in conjunction with the USA.

Ukraine is the absolute loser in this war.It has essential been in this condition ever since the sanctions imposed on Russia failed and nations expected to rally to the West's side against Russia failed to do so. Ever since these eventualities failed to take place the end point of this conflict was clear.

Sooner or later the reality to be faced by the western powers who were so confident in their sanctions regime is that Russia won and won conclusively. That will be the unavoidable reality. However, the false narrative concocted to spare the blushes of the western leaders who failed will convince most people in the West. That false narrative will state that Russia failed. It will be said time and time again and in fact has already been said several times that Russia wanted to vanquish the entirety of Ukraine and occupy it.

The above narrative was never true at any point, not anywhere along the line, including at the get go. Russia wanted initially only to get the Minsk Accords complied with as agreed and verified at the United Nations. Plus an assurance that Ukraine would not join NATO. This was virtually a done deal in Istanbul, March 2022. That route to a speedy reconciliation was terminated by the Ukrainian regime in consultation with the western leadership. Hundreds of thousands have subsequently died needlessly to no good purpose.

Russia is moving forward  incrementally toward the attainment of a now expanded number of goals. With the Istanbul semi-agreement lost Russia now knows with 100% conviction that it cannot trust either the Ukrainian regime or the western powers. Russia knows she must now take far more of Ukraine and bring the present regime down while utterly humiliating those in the West that pushed the Kiev regime relentlessly and to no good purpose, losing the Ukrainian population of some 400,000 of its male population.

Russia cannot compromise now as it has no faith in those who might seek to negotiate with it. This is why it must move forward to a complete victory and insist on its expanded number of goals. It will accept nothing less now.

VULTURES ARE CIRCLING GENOCIDER NATIONS USA & ISRAEL

They are their own worst enemies. They use violence as a primary tool of policy, fuelled by the dimmest, most brutal and primitive thought processes.

The Israeli and U.S. regimes have a great many things in common apart from their belligerent stances regarding their neighbours. Their proclivity for interfering in others’ affairs is well know, both using their intelligence agencies, Mossad and the CIA and using their military capabilities. Successive British governments can easily be thrown in with these belligerent two.

The people of regions outside of what is now widely known as the collective west know well the kind of attitudes that inform the political and media elites of these nations. It is hardly less racist than it ever was during the times of slavery, colonialism and empire. The patronising, know-best stance is just as strong now as then. Looking down their noses they consider themselves exceptional, superior and entrusted by God to manipulate, control, interfere and punish.

The reign of these nations has been long and bloody, full of Machiavellian ploys, the dirtiest of tricks, blatant misinformation, propaganda and duplicity. These barbaric mongrels posing as pedigree prizewinner have distorted and undermined relationships globally for centuries. But, unless the facts lie and what we see with our very own eyes deceives us their time is almost up. So many indicators now point to those they have abused for so long realising their chance to hit back.

In Syria where the U.S. military squats illegally a salutary lesson has been delivered by way of a massive rocket attack. In Yemen rebels take all that’s thrown at them by the USA and its cronies and continue their campaign to throttle Israel by blocking shipping. In Ukraine, the U.S. policy of using the Ukrainian people as a battering ram against Russia has totally failed and the sanctions it and its cronies imposed on Russia have backfired.

Within both Israel and the USA we see forces at work strongly against the activities of their political elites. Mass protests are now a constant, ripping apart any consensus there may once have been. Both leaders are now under fierce attack by those enraged by their actions. Their days appear decidedly numbered. Meanwhile the living standards of the majority in their countries continue to plummet. The very same goes for Britain where the government has never been so massively unpopular as now.

Across the Middle East the names of the USA, Britain and Israel are reviled due to their group slaughter of the Palestnians in Gaza. Mass boycotts of western goods and services are underway. On the African continent nations are progressively extricating themselves from western influence, demanding western troops leave and drawing closer to China and Russia as they do so. In Iraq the government there time and again demand that the U.S. leave their bases and go home.

There is not the slightest sign that any of this will be reversed, but will instead increase and continue to exert ever-greater pressure on western entities to leave by the first door found. Gone are the days when there was any semblance of the truth in the notion that the USA and its minions were a force for good. Most of this manufactured “reality” dissolved when a destroyed Iraq was found to continue not a single weapon of mass destruction.

China of course has made the most fundamental difference to the world scene in recent decades. Now nations abused for centuries by the West have a massively strong ally to turn to. And not only China of course. Russia stands ready to help too, plus an increasing number of nations queueing to join the BRICS group. The bullies who once ruled the world virtually unchallenged believed that after its long, ultimately successful campaign to bring down the Soviet Union that they would rule forever as the apex leaders, able to monitor, control and punish at will. We see now where such hubris has brought them.

We stand at the threshold of a dream long held by the most enthusiastically idealistic among us, a truly multipolar world where nations work together, strive to agree in an atmosphere of tolerance for diverse governmental structures, seeking always to resolve differences through dialogue, never through war. The age of war and intolerance for those conceived of as “different” and “lesser” is ending. The three primary dinosaurs who prevailed for so long, the USA, Britain and Israel, are dying. They are decaying before our very eyes.

Watch now as their final throes reverberate in spasms across them as they start to come apart at the seams. While vultures start to circle… awaiting their final demise.

WHAT CONDITIONS MIGHT RUSSIA SET FOR AN END TO ITS UKRAINE CAMPAIGN?

The war in Ukraine will have an end at some point. There is incentive on both sides, but of varying degrees. Might it be that a ceasefire and new elections may precede it? What are the possibilities?

Any negotiations Russia would countenance to end its campaign in eastern Ukraine would have to be with the USA. This on the basis, as the saying goes, of talking to the organ grinder and not to his monkey. Besides which, the Ukrainian regime have shown time and time again that it no longer has any intention to talk to the Russians on this issue. However, there is no reason for Russia to trust U.S. officials at any level, this being due to the unreliability of any agreements being likely to last the test of time. The USA has an extremely poor record on this account.

However, the USA is currently overstretched and besides this its gambit regarding using Ukraine to weaken Russia has quite clearly failed. There is little to no upside to continuing this effort, especially when there are more urgent concerns in the Middle East and Far East to concern itself with.

Without doubt, if it was politically possible for the Biden administration to manage the fallout from extricating the USA from the Ukrainian debacle it would use it. The problem is that on the face of it, in an election year in the U.S. it is difficult to see how this obvious failure could be managed effectively. Of course this depends on the general sentiment of the U.S. populace in this regard. It is quite possible that the administration’s failure to defeat Russia could be spun to advantage. How could this be done?

In recent weeks the favoured (and of course false) narrative being tested on public opinion is that Russia had the goal of taking and occupying all Ukraine and failed. This lie would be hammered home at every opportunity. A sub-narrative would of course be that this was a Ukrainian victory. Facilitated by the USA of course. Every part of the mass media circus which favours the Democrats would mirror both narratives. Using such a smokescreen Biden’s failure in Ukraine might just possibly be sold as an enormous positive.

This past week an article was published in the Washington Post that signalled the possibility that the idea of the Kiev regime taking back its lost territory could be abandoned. This bowing to reality considering Russia’s overwhelmingly strong position on the battlefield bodes well for an eventual settlement but as ever, the devil is in the detail. Why should Russia trust that a mere frozen conflict was being contemplated after which the western allies would simply re-arm Ukraine to restart the war again later?

Naturally Russia would like to put all this behind it but not without attaining its goals which were set at the outset.

The minimum conditions would be Ukraine never joining NATO, the Ukrainian military being essentially demobbed and reduced to ceremonial duties only, complete security for the Russian-speaking population of the Donbass and a fully funded campaign to eliminate all semblance of support for the Nazi-legacy cult in western Ukraine. It must be suspected also that Russia would insist upon new presidential and general elections occurring in Ukraine. These may even be demanded by Russia to be held while Russia continues its campaign to drive the Ukrainian army from the Donbass.

Naturally the USA will seek to convince Russia to postpone many of its demands to a later date, preferably after November. In the meantime the possibility of a ceasefire will likely be broached by the U.S. side with the enticement for Russia that there will be an acknowledgement from the USA that Russia can retain the lands it has already taken. Any such statement will have dubious value however, as Russia will know. The overwhelming ( and no doubt accurate) suspicion will be that this can be overturned at the drop of a hat whenever this administration (or the next) deems it necessary.

Trust, or rather the lack of it, is the primary reason why coming to an agreement on halting this conflict, even temporarily, will almost certainly founder. The U.S. state, along with its allies have demonstrated a general willingness to deceive and renege on commitments. While the Biden administration has many reasons to want the Ukrainian debacle to go away and soon, Russia, getting stronger by the day and seeing the Kiev regime’s position growing ever weaker, has no particular incentive pushing it in that direction.

Will Biden and his people seek at least a ceasefire if not negotiations to end the conflict entirely? This looks very likely. Will Russia engage in talks, most likely back channel talks exploring the possibility of a ceasefire with a guarantee that the USA would insist Kiev agree to holding elections? This latter suggestion might well attract a positive response from Russia. However, it must strongly be suspected that Russia would insist on continuing its campaign at least up to one week before polling day, or closer still.

Depending on the result of the elections a whole new scenario of possibilities may open up. With Zelensky and his entire cabinet and possibly his entire party gone who know what might then be agreed under these entirely new circumstances? A Russia-neutral president and government in Ukraine might just transform the situation and allow all manner of new possibilities to flow. If this was to transpire then the possibility of a final end to hostilities in Ukraine could emerge, and the rebuilding process on all fronts begin.

RETROSPECTIVE: WE ARE NOW IN THE TENTH YEAR OF THE CONFLICT IN UKRAINE

When military conflicts take place there are always also conflicts of opinion regarding the facts. As the saying goes, ‘The first casualty of war is the truth’. This has never been more true than in this conflict, one that has been fought not only in Ukraine but across the entire media space and very much including across the internet and social media. The advantage of having multiple platforms through which to access hearts and minds has been taken full advantage of and, due to the nature of this medium, many unverified and uninvestigated claims have been made. However, certain facts can be ascertained and stated plainly and without contradiction.

THE EVENTS ON MAIDAN SQUARE WERE CRUCIAL

Whatever can be said about what took place on Maidan Square in Ukraine’s capital from the end of 2013 into the early months of 2014 one fact can be stated without fear of contradiction. They did not represent anything approaching a democratic process.

Whether you agree with the outcome of the events on the square or do not, the clear fact stated above should be self-evident. Whether you believe what happened was justifiable or not, this fact remains. The historical record will show that both the elections of the then Ukrainian president and that of the then government passed the various tests the electoral assessor teams set for them and pronounced the results as valid.

What were the reasons for the Maidan protests?

Ukraine sought loans in 2013 to maintain the nation in good financial standing. The president at that time, Yanukoych was negotiating with both the Russian Federation and the European Union for future assistance to ensure this goal. He was primarily negotiating with EU officials whereby Ukraine would formalise an associate status with the union. These negotiations were ongoing while Russia offered its own financial assistance and, according to reports, suggested Ukraine could take advantage of both their offer AND that of the EU.

Those who gathered in Maidan Square were clearly suspicious that Yanukovych and the government of Ukraine would ultimately reject the proposals of the EU and instead continue its long-term reliance on Russia. They, being almost exclusively residents of western Ukraine and by numerous election results as an almost uniform bloc antipathetic to the parties in power, wished to push for an ever closer and increasingly enhanced connection to the European Union.

While Yanukovych deliberated over a decision that would inevitably have major implications for Ukraine the impatience and suspicions of the protestors mounted.

Why did the protesters on Maidan Square become violent?

As the early months of 2014 wore on a change occurred on the square. The initial largely peaceful protests morphed into arguably the most violent ever seen in Europe, at least in modern times. Why did this transformation of events occur?

One reason for this change is the claimed harsh response of a particular elite grouping of the Ukrainian security forces known as the ‘Berkut’. It appears according to certain accounts seen that some protestors were beaten in unjustifiable attacks. These have not been well documented and have remained on an assertion basis only. However, the likelihood of these attacks having occurred and having heightened tensions, leading to violent attacks upon the security services in general cannot be discounted.

The second reason for this change is more obvious and clearly visible. It is clear that the protest on Maidan Square became known to a large grouping, predominantly of young men, who had a history of extreme nationalism. The mythologies that these young men adhered to took many forms, however, the influence upon them that had most effect was quite obviously and visibly that of the activities of certain Ukrainian organisations who had struggled for Ukrainian independence from the Soviet Union during World War Two.

Those that the new influx to the Maidan Square protests looked to for inspiration were several although the chief among them was a man by the name of Stepan Bandera. Although Bandera did not hold any permanent alliance he, and many others from western Ukraine did at one point at least align themselves with the Nazis and battalions of Ukrainians were inducted into the Nazi military at that time. Russia and Russian-speakers were then and remained through the generations the hated enemy of the most extreme of Ukrainian nationalists.

The protest on Maidan Square thus descended into open riot.

How did the events on Maidan Square end?

The entire many-month-long protest that descended into open riot on Maidan Square ended with a mass shooting event where a great many protesters/rioters were killed by shooting from an upper storey of a hotel overlooking the square. Initially it was claimed that the then Ukrainian president and government were responsible for this by ordering its security forces to perpetrate it. However, the official enquiry has discounted this and instead indicated in its deliberations that another group entirely were responsible. The most likely group appears to be a small team of Georgians, one at least of whom has confessed in a detailed account to have been brought to the square for this purpose.

In any event, on the perpetration of this major atrocity, events occurred in quick succession soon after while the protest/riot continued unabated. The president, Yanukovych, in fear of life according to reports, fled and the government fell after what appears to have been an unconstitutional vote against it.

What followed the end of the events on Maidan Square?

The new government was sworn in on 27 February 2014.

Certain figures emerged to take control of governmental affairs in the absence of the previous president and the fall of the previous government. Chief among these was Arseniy Yatsenyuk who had been recommended for the post of prime minister in a leaked phone call between then U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland and then U.S. Ambassador in Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt. Subsequently, several members of the most radical party in Ukraine led by  Oleh Tyahnybok (Formerly Social-National Party of Ukraine) ‘Svoboda’ gained prominent governmental positions.

Nuland Pyatt Leaked Call: Washington Planning the Coup and the New Government in Kiev -"Fuck the EU".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh49F2ao4-Y

There follows some information regarding Tyahnybok’s ‘Svoboda’ party:

'Its ideology was based on OUN (Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists) politician Yaroslav Stetsko's Two revolutions.

On 21 September 1993 its "people's formations" came to the Verkhovna Rada building dressed all in black to differentiate themselves from woodland camouflaged UNA-UNSO activists.[3]

In the second half of 1990s the party also recruited skinheads and football hooligans.

A mirror image of the Wolfsangel, or Wolf's Hook, was chosen as the party emblem in 1991.’ (Wikipedia)

The Wolfsangel:

‘The Ƶ-symbol was adopted by the Nazi Party, and was used by various German Wehrmacht and SS units such as the Waffen-SS Division Das Reich and the Waffen-SS Division Landstorm Nederland. The Anti-Defamation League, and others, list the Ƶ-symbol as a hate and neo-Nazi symbol.’ (Wikipedia)

How did the Russian-speaking people of eastern Ukraine react to the events above?

It will be well known by now that the political and national affiliations of the two geographical regions of Ukraine, east and west are generally in total opposition. The vast majority in western Ukraine are ethnic Ukrainians who are Ukrainian-speaking and have historically looked west. Those in eastern Ukraine generally speak Russian and look eastward toward Russia historically. The general impulse of Ukrainian nationalists has been to emphasise the Ukrainian language and to minimise the importance of the Russian language. This has been especially true since the events on Maidan Square.

The Russian-speaking majority in both Crimea and the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine did not react well to the events seen on Maidan Square. Symbology denoting allegiance to concepts associated with the Nazis of World War Two did not escape notice. The clear implication of the events on the square clearly indicated that their ability to elect the president and government of the choice was at risk. (Images depicting electoral results for Ukraine show a very clear dividing line of loyalties between east and west.) A decision was clearly made that due to the events seen on the square an insurrection of their own was called for. This largely bloodless insurrection involved large groups taking over government offices across the Donbass region.

Ostensibly those leading the group who had responded to the recent events in Ukraine’s capital through this local insurrection asked for a degree of autonomy within Ukraine that it was hoped would safeguard and guarantee their language and generally pro-Russian culture and historical heritage.

What was the response of the authorities in the Ukrainian capital to these events?

Various claims were immediately made regarding those who had reacted as described above. No attempt was made, as far as can be ascertained, to create a dialogue with those involved. Instead they were immediately designated as terrorists assisted, it was stated, by elements of the Russian military.

On the 15th of April 2022 the following fateful decision to use military force was enacted;

‘In accordance with the Ukrainian law on fighting the terrorism Ukraine's acting President Olexander Turchynov announced the start of "anti-terrorist operation" (Ukrainian: Антитерористична операція, abbreviation: ATO) against pro-Russian separatists. An armoured column sent by Ukraine established a checkpoint 40 km from Sloviansk.’ (Wikipedia)

From this point on a military confrontation was inevitable and so it transpired. With the new authorities in the Ukrainian capital designating those who had taken part in the revolt as terrorists assisted by Russian forces there proved no basis for anything approaching a basis for negotiations. The subsequent shelling of the villages, towns and cities of the Donbass region along with the growing military resistance against them has resulted in excess of 15,000 deaths, the great majority being the deaths among the civilian population.

Hopefully the detailing of the events above will provide greater insight into the origins of the conflict which continues to this day in Ukraine. Hopefully it also serves to dispose of the oft repeated implication that the conflict only began on the 24th of February 2022. Russia’s intervention at that time, as Russian president Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated, is Russia’s attempt to end the military conflict begun in 2014 by the Ukrainian authorities and their armed forces.

ARE CRIMINAL GANGS RUNNING THE WESTERN WORLD?

Are your thoughts and attitudes being monitored for correctness? Must you take care never to say the wrong thing? Who is afraid of us thinking too much? What danger are we to their position & plans?

Seriously. Are criminal gangs running the western world? Are they using ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy’ as the primary buzzwords in their scam?

It would explain a lot, wouldn’t it? There’s been a lot of illegal wars over the last couple of decades. Millions have died… yet somehow no one responsible is ever charged with a crime.

The cabal who seem to be running everything in the West these days are trying their utmost to have us dispense with international law. They want to replace it with some rules they make up as and when they need them. One such rule is that they can steal money from any nation’s bank account as and when they feel the need. Currently they want to steal around $300 billion from Russia.

The $300 billion they want to steal from Russia will mostly be transferred to the U.S. military industrial complex conglomerates who will recycle a portion of it as campaign contributions as a nice big kickback to the thieves. Nice work if you can get it… and you can get it if you alone run things.

In Germany for instance, a nation that prides itself on being one of many saintly democratic nations of the West it appears very likely that the ruling coalition will ban an entire political party. The name of this party is the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland). If their banning takes place it will be because they have become too popular and this is proving very inconvenient for those who conceive themselves to be the most righteous rulers.

Such changes as that above are becoming more and more commonplace as those with a proclivity for totalitarianism increasingly see political rivals as enemies suffering from conditioning through imbibing misinformation. When there is only one correct view (as they see it) then their rivals must either be deluded or outright enemies, and can be treated as such.

Those in power now believe only they have ‘the right stuff’ and that having this right stuff will save the world. Anyone holding different views or advocating different policies, will in their view. Destroy it. Therefore certain changes must be made. The primary change is to move from an international system of laws that restricts people who think like them from doing what “they must” to save western liberal values.  Therefore, instead of international law protected via the United Nations the West must switch to the ‘international rules based order’ as regulated by them.  It’s a neat trick if they can pull it off, don’t you think so? You can only do this if you ensure you stay in control and take out those who resist you.

And it’s all being done in front of our very eyes.

But we trust those politicians, don’t we? Over the years they were such an honest bunch, weren’t they? No scandal was ever found among them, was it? Such a nice array of shiny, innocent souls whose only goal in life is to benefit those who voted them into power. But what is this? They work in coordination with those who sponsor them by giving their lobby groups direct access to the formulation of policies so that this “virtuous” cycle of wealth creation stays in house. There’s a word for that sort of thing, isn’t there. In fact there are several. Graft being one. Monopoly is another. Then there’s Cabal. A cosy relationship where a group ensures they make money at others’ expense. Rigged. That’s another term that fits.

What a lovely cabal of criminals. Literally war criminals. Wannabe or Active. The Mike Pompeos of this world. The John Boltons. The Victoria Nulands. Such sweet innocents who couldn’t bring themselves to hurt a fly, right? Yet millions are dead and still their hunger for whatever insane thing they hunger for, is not satisfied. But wait… that would make them psychopaths, wouldn’t it? Psychopaths have no conscience, no empathy for others and think only of themselves. They have no problem with killing… in fact they enjoy it. Of having power over others too… they INSIST upon that. And they revel in being glorious, narcissistic to the core. Remind you of any particular group of notable people?

Politicians perhaps?

WHY DOES THE COLLECTIVE WEST SEE RUSSIA AS A THREAT?

Mainstream media has published a great many reasons for state officials, editors & commentators believing we should see Russia as a threat. What might be the basis for these fears, real or irrational?

The EU is preparing a thirteenth round of sanctions against Russia to coincide with the second anniversary of the beginning of Russia’s special military operation. It is as good a time as any to ask why the West is acting in such a way.

On the face of it, taking into consideration the sheer number of wars the USA and its allies have initiated over the last two decades, and the millions who have died or been displaced, Russia’s single intervention regarding Ukraine would appear to be small beer indeed. It would appear there is more to this than meets the eye.

You could be forgiven for thinking that the leaders of the western world conceive themselves to be in a life and death struggle with Russia over Ukraine. Could it be that this is exactly how they see it? Is it possible that there is an overall western elite plan that Russia’s action has interfered with? Or, are the western allies merely acting in what they see as a preemptive, strategic manner due to their fear that Russia wishes to reconstitute the Soviet Union and restart the Cold War? Or is the reason a combination of these factors or even something else entirely?

Looking things over we see that the antagonism displayed against Russia predated the start of her operation in Ukraine. Since a certain address given at a security conference in Munich ‘way back in 2007 Putin at least became the prime geopolitical target for western political and media elites, and no doubt for western intelligence agencies also. However, it was not only Putin who received criticism, the military policies of the Russian state as a whole were certainly looked at askance.

THE WARS IN CHECHNYA

Boris Yeltsin was president of Russia during the entire period when Russia fought the First Chechen War (December 1994 to August 1996) and was president also for the first five months of what is called ‘The Second Chechen War’ (August 1999 to December 1999).

A cursory glance over search results using the word ‘Chechnya’ is all it takes to glean the approach western media and political leadership took to Russian activities there. So, it isn’t just Putin that concerns the West though you might think so due to the frequency of Putin’s name being used rather than Russia in reports stretching back decades. Uniformly in common media and political parlance ‘Putin did this… or that‘ when the activity being described was a function of the Russian state or military. So, it’s not just Putin. What else could it be?

THAT SPEECH IN MUNICH

Though we have just concluded that the main reason for the West’s fervid and abiding angst regarding what is going on in Ukraine is not exclusively down to Putin alone, his statement to its elites in Munich on February 10th 2007 can be seen as a primary source of concern for them. In it Putin told them in plain language that though Russia would work in coordination with the western powers on all major areas of international concern (nuclear proliferation, international terrorism etc.) Russia would not be dictated to by any one nation or group of nations. This went down extremely badly at the time and whereas before this speech Putin had been somewhat feted globally he was now consigned to being a virtual pariah. At least in the West. Why was this?

9/11 convinced the political elites of the USA that it was absolutely vital that there should be zero future opposition to the U.S. and that further to this goal no opposition or alienation from the USA could any longer be tolerated. The USA, known as the world’s policeman before 9/11 would now move forward to be the world’s surveillance office, warder, judge, and where necessary executioner. All nations must submit to this new reality, know their place and act in the way the USA required at all times… or suffer the consequences. So, Vladimir Putin (who had assisted the USA in its war in Afghanistan) now standing in front of them saying that Russia would NOT be dominated or told what to do… not be told how high to jump in other words, didn’t sit at all well with these western elites. So he became their Public Enemy #1.

IT’S MORE THAN MUNICH - IT’S SPHERE OF INFLUENCE

As we saw regarding the Chechen wars it’s not all down to Putin. When it comes to the war with Georgia it was both Russia AND Putin however. Though, as even the BBC’s flagship TV news programme ‘Newsnight’ admitted at the time the situation regarding Georgia and South Ossetia was complex and much blame could be put at Georgia’s door, it has been Russia, and Putin, who have been blamed ever since. Russia came to the aid of the Russian-speakers of the region when they came under attack from Georgian Grad multiple launch rocket systems and subsequently quelled the violence. Russian peacekeepers have been there ever since. Despite this conflict having an equally complex history to those in Chechnya Russia got the blame and continues to get the blame in the West.

Russia, according to the seemingly regime change-addicted West, is not supposed to have any sphere of influence no matter what it must endure in its neighbourhood. One wonders what it is meant to do when a crisis breaks out involving extreme violence breaks out on its borders, simply wait it out and hope for the best presumably. Only the western powers are allowed the right to have not only one, but many spheres of influence. At times it appears to reduce to only one rather large sphere, one that encompasses the entire globe. If the collective west conceives the entire world to be its responsibility (for whatever reason) then we can see that others exercising their own local influence is not at all welcome and is in fact to be slapped down and that nation be firmly put in its place.

RUSSIA IS UNWILLING TO BE ‘PUT IN ITS PLACE’

As we know from Putin’s speech of 2007 the signal coming from him and the entire Russian political elite was that Russia will NOT be put in its place. After all, it had overcome a great many painful and deeply tragic vicissitudes in its long history to be confined to a kind of obedient serfdom. The USA had suffered an atrocity that created a national tragedy on 9/11, one that can be compared to a degree with the Holocaust suffered by the Jews, a tragedy and atrocity held by the state of Israel to bestow on it an allowance to perpetrate certain acts others are forbidden from (as we see now in Gaza). However great these atrocities were we can see that the unique status afforded themselves by these states due to these atrocities contributed to the allowance they gave themselves as unique states, states some would say who were bestowed of a special place by their god. Russia however, even though it had lost some twenty seven million of its citizens co-winning the Second World War was and is seen as having no right to self-protection. Russia is not willing to accept this.

WE WON THE WAR

If you ask around in the USA, UK and in most of Europe who won WWII the most common answer you will get is “Britain and America”. Some may mention Russia but the numbers doing so will be minuscule. Russia became marginalised across the western political and media spheres due to the advent of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact. The words Russia and russian became dirty words in the era when the phrase ‘Better Dead Than Red’ was commonplace. The demonisation of Russia and Russians permeated western cultures to their subconscious core. Those who are perceived as ‘other’ become dehumanised and instead of real and normal flesh and blood humans they become in the subconscious mind sub-human, something lesser and objects of fear and loathing. In this way the foundation of a deep-seated fear and antagonism toward anything Russian was laid in deep. Despite the part the Russian state and people played in the winning of the war.

PUTIN WANTS ALL UKRAINE, THEN TO BRING BACK THE  SOVIET UNION

As Professor John J. Mearsheimer has repeated many times there is not a shred of evidence that Vladimir Putin’s goal (it is always Putin’s goal, not Russia’s) ever was to take all of Ukraine and neither is there any that he (it) wants to recreate the Soviet Union.

John Joseph Mearsheimer (born December 14, 1947) is an American political scientist and international relations scholar who belongs to the realist school of thought. He is the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. He has been described as the most influential realist of his generation.’ (Wikipedia)

Those who say Putin (it is always Putin) wants the Soviet Union back point to a statement he made saying that the fall of the Soviet Union was a great catastrophe for the Russian people. What they do not relate to their listeners however is the context in which he made this remark. The object of his sorrow was that ethnic Russians in the moment of the collapse were left isolated from their motherland as the Soviet Union fell. His clearest statement on whether the Soviet Union should be remade goes something like this however:

“Those who do not regret the fall of the Soviet Union have no soul. Those who want it back however have no brain.”

But the above does not stop the array of western leaders who are now ringing alarm bells by saying that Russia is coming for their nations. As Professor Mearsheimer has also said, Russia has neither the capacity nor the inclination to even take the whole of Ukraine, never mind the Baltic States and Western Europe. It hasn’t the inclination (poisoned chalices all) the money (Russia’s economy is small compared to that of the former Soviet Union) or the military (think of the long slog to take 20% of Ukraine x 100-1000).

THE WEST SIMPLY WANTS IT ALL

Staying top dog as long as you possibly can is an addictive pursuit. You get used to the ‘good life’, the power, the control, the status. You feel good, you feel you have ‘arrived’. You are looked up to, respected, perhaps feared. What you say goes and if it doesn’t, well, you’ll want to know why. Few give up the privileges of wealth, influence and power easily. In the case of individuals the end does come no matter what you do. But with nations that sense of entitlement, bolstered as it is by innumerable myths, prejudices and continuing desire for all the benefits that accrue, get passed down from one set of ‘owners’ to the next. Benefactors are few. Those who have it all and want to keep it are far and away in the majority. And when you have always had immense power to wield to keep all these things you tend to use it.

THE LION IS WOUNDED AND DYING

Mortally wounded beasts strike out at almost all around them, seeing danger in just about every location. The immensely powerful beast of the USA with its also powerful gang members around it, has started to become afraid that its power is waning. Decade after decade the North American beast has been virtually all-powerful, just like its god. Born as the perfect state with perfect laws, perfectly good intentions and an appetite for perfect exploitation of everything their god gives, it was always destined to become a formidable force. They, the good, had come from very bad Europe and from innumerable other ‘very bad’ places to found the most perfect country possible. Annihilating the native population in the process was simply an easily ignored footnote in their glorious history of perfection.

But what’s this? They are not loved for their “perfection”? Too many now hate them and wish them ill. Time to straighten up, build those muscles and smite these unbelievers. Time to take them down a peg or two if they’re getting too strong. Time to fight and show them what we can do if they dare threaten us. We are perfection. Who do you think you are!

But still the beast knows it is wounded and can feel that more keenly with every passing day. ‘They’ want to quarantine us, ‘they’ want to treat us as criminals when we are the most holy, the most good… we are without blemish or bad intent. Yes, we may make mistakes but they are only that, honest mistakes. Learn from us. Hear our teachings. We will bring you the holy fruits of ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy’. Just trust us as we kill who we must to bring the peace which guarantees your access to them!

But still the beast knows its blandishments are falling on increasingly barren ground. It is confused and angry, pointing at those others ‘over there’ who must be responsible for its pain and for denying it the birthright of perfection which it is entitled to… and now begin to refuse to be subservient.
