It’s hypocrisy at its farthest limit.
It’s the keynote feature of the two nations with the worst record worldwide for genocide, slavery, colonization and mass murder.
You guessed them... the USA and UK.
The same two nations that deign to criticize the behavior of others. Not only that, they will kill you to prove how much they have the compulsion to change you.
Once they have killed you and reduced your nation to ruins, fragmenting your society and destroying you livelihood and that of neighboring countries they will say it was all well worth it.
Don’t expect an apology. Not even if they say they got it wrong and did it all based on lies they believed (or even lies they didn’t believe but found useful). None of their leaders will go to jail. They are much more likely to be appointed in a leading position in some prestigious or important entity. Like Tony Blair for instance who (believe it or not) headed a group given the task of improving the prospects of peace between Israel and the Palestinians. (No, those blood-soaked hands were kept well out of sight.)
What about that other ‘B’, Bush? He is now a big friend of Michelle Obama and TV personalities its seems. He is greeted not by thrown shoes any more but by welcoming smiles and handshakes. (No blood is transferred from them.)
But surely these two nations have only just started on their bloody path to notoriety? Teething troubles as nations let us say, still in the kindergarten of small brats with tiny brains hoping to fight their way to those experiences that lead to eventual understanding... even wisdom?
Unfortunately not.
The USA began in bloodshed.
The first Americans decided the new land they found that already had an owner in truth belonged to them. So they took it and if the original owners were so foolish as to fight for their land well, might was right and those with power took what became theirs. So they slaughtered most... then cheated the ones that remained out of whatever reservation they were granted... if there was something valuable on it.
Surely that was the end of their evil early period? Sadly no.
The next step was to have men, women and children snatched from their homes in Africa and brought (those that survived) to the slave markets in their country and made them work for the rest of their lives on their land.
The highest in the land, the so-called founding fathers of the USA, did likewise.
Genocide and Slavery.
Two excellent prerequisites for setting your nation up to be the judge of all others, don’t you think?
The UK was an integral part of the slave trade of course. But that didn’t bring in quite enough money for its elite land and business owners. They looked with greedy eyes at all the resources in foreign lands where people you could hardly call human or civilized were clearly incapable or unwilling to exploit them. So they decided it was their job.
The British Empire was one of the largest empires the world has ever known. Not that other white-skinned nations weren’t doing their utmost to get their share and exploit the weak for their own benefit. Spain, Portugal, France and many others all got in on the act. It was like kids in an empty sweet shop. The people they killed, the women they raped, the resources they plundered... all done with justifications similar to those we hear today if not of exactly the same type.
Back then those they killed, raped and exploited were “savages” unable to understand civilized behavior. Now those nations where they subvert, destabilize and kill are also exhibiting bad behavior by not doing what they’re told.
The elites of the USA, UK and all the ex-colonial powers of Europe sit in self-awarded judgement on all others who are not doing what they are told or begging to differ from their oh-so laudable and respectable systems. And if they don’t amend their behavior sufficiently then these two pure as driven snow nations will bomb the shit out of you. “All the way back to the Stone Age”, as they are sometimes known to threaten.
And if they don’t do it themselves they will find some proxies to do it for them, either your everyday terrorist or your state terrorist friends such as Israel or Saudi Arabia.
Of course any elite personage within the upper echelons of the USA or UK would hardly recognize any of this. They would have nice neat sets of words to say why it is vital they do what they do for they live in the “free world”, they have “democracy”, they respect “human rights” and they would tell you you are an agent of Assad, Putin or ISIS for deigning to question their unquestionable motives and actions.
These are at a level of hypocrisy that strains the meaning of the word requiring something much more potent to describe them than this one word. Perhaps hyper-hypocrisy. Mega-hypocrisy? Something that combines group-thought myopia with a large dose of hubris topped by lashings of self-interest.
It’s about as ugly and evil as it gets and its ongoing. Aided by mass media circuses in both nations that speak not a single word concerning it.
It’s vile and deeply disgusting. It’s self-serving and self-interested. It’s a gargantuan factory of lies.
It’s hypocrisy in hyperdrive.
