CAPITALISM

Capitalism in its worst aspects is about legalized theft, the rooking of the gullible by the amoral.

Capitalism meshes well with a large minority in the USA who have an absence of principles, except for those intimately connected with self-gratification.

Those who are completely amoral and wholly self-interested do well in the sharp-elbowed jungle of legalized criminality that spawned crooks like Donald Trump.

Capitalism works on dividing groups of people from one another.

These are the haves and the have-nots. The top-feeders are those who use capitalist criminality to its utmost potential. They act as predators swimming in the elite seas surrounding big money, within media, marketing and the political swamp.

The crooked capitalist elites are imbued with a feverish desire to have more than their intelligence merits.

That is not to say all capitalists have been this way however, most now are.

There was a time when the average Joe and his wife were benefited by capitalism. Innovative products by skilled technicians and engineers were brought to the market by capital expenditure. Those times are before the memories of most now living, but there was a time before the plethora of kitchen appliances and handy devices we have now and people were glad of them, especially the women of that time who were little more than home-slaves.

That was the golden age of capitalism. People rejoiced to find their lives enriched and made easier year after year. Jobs were in plentiful supply and the difference between a worker’s wage and a bosses wage was a fraction of what it is now. Those growing up within those families had the prospect of having even more than their Moms and Dads in the lives before them. And capitalism seemed to be working just fine. As long as you were a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, as the acceptable entrants to the job market at that time were called.

It was the time before Lyndon B. Johnson’s ‘The Great Society’ and those then within it, the WASPs had a great burgeoning capitalism to thank for it. But the ‘American Dream’ was about to morph into a nightmare. Johnson’s ‘Great Society’ was an attempt to offset the iniquities the WASPs had instituted for themselves. But as we see now it failed miserably.

The USA now has a fully predatory capitalism. It feeds off its host. It manipulates unmercifully, it demeans intellect for its benefit, it engenders ill-health and it creates work slaves.

Capitalism is a vampire-like system of endless abuse. It sucks people dry. It is without conscience and totally amoral. It operates on auto-pilot these days through boards of directors who care only for bottom-line stats and nothing for who they have to abuse to raise them. In the almost forgotten past there were single owners or family owners of companies and corporations, many of them cared about their workers, their state of health and pay. No doubt many didn’t and worked their people into the ground, but there was some comeback, workers could strike or work to rule, they could organize and demand better. That’s all gone. Now workers only have a board of directors who care nothing for them or about them and they will not tolerate unions in most cases.

The situations has only got worse in recent years with short-term contracts and gig-working. Workers are instantly replaceable if they give trouble, perhaps by a machine or a computer program, perhaps soon by a drone, or an artificial intelligence matrix.

Capitalism doesn’t care for anything but profit. If you don’t fit, you’re out, re-training costs too much. Machines do it better. Online will put you on the breadline.

We are looking at unemployment statistics now that will overshadow anything seen before. Homelessness statistics and bankruptcies likewise.

Capitalism is not working. It’s not working anymore. The machine that was supposed to eventually bring a better life for everyone is broken.

Though it’s functioning for the 1%. And that seems to be all that counts across the elites who run the system for their own benefit.

So, what comes next?

Next comes a revolution of some kind. It’s inevitable. Unless a Universal basic Income saves the day.

Capitalism is in terminal distress in terms of doing what was claimed. It is cancerous in its negativity. It is diseased and contagious among the elites who carry its harmful spores within them.

Capitalism as we know it is destined to die. The host will kill its infecting predatory spores.

It is only a matter of when.
