A war is in progress, and shows every sign of being escalated.
One side in this war believes that it is too important for their side to be believed for others to be allowed to speak against it.
This war on speech is the natural consequence of a greater war between disparate visions, policies and systems.
On top of this and predicated by it is the war mode engaged in which affects both wars stated above. That war mode has infected every level of western elite society.
The effect has been so great that it verges on the kind of systems we associate with the west’s earlier enemy, The Soviet Union.
There is a growing trend toward what I have called ‘Liberal Totalitarianism’. We don’t have far to look into the past to get a flavor of what this liberal totalitarianism will look and feel like. If you are old enough simply think back to the days, weeks and indeed years immediately after the events of September 11th 2001.
In the time period just after 9/11 almost everyone agreed on the
narratives which arose from western elites concerning those vile events,
their meaning and a general feeling regarding what should be done.
These narratives were not wholly agreed with, not 100% but near enough.
One or two voices of caution were raised, voices too expressing the need
to look at why a group had felt justified in such acts and whether
there was not something in previous U.S. foreign policy which had at
least in part contributed to them. These lone voices were quickly howled
down as insensitive, damaging and outrageous. I also recall reading
that a sizeable number of the bereaved families had issued a statement
saying that they were devastated by the loss of their loved ones and
that the one thing they hoped for above all now was that America
wouldn’t act in such a way that other innocent lives would be lost.
Sadly I never read or heard another word concerning their heartfelt
request and of course, as we know, it was totally ignored.
You will surely recall the atmosphere of that time if you are old enough. It was not a time when rational debate seemed appropriate. The atmosphere insisted on strong action, people were incensed, determined to smite their enemies in almost Biblical fury because of this heinous act which had been committed on their nation. And this was most certainly mirrored in the administration in Washington at the time.
We saw then that the determination to attack, attack and only attack generated more than the repeated reports on the fact of the outrage. It also generated much that we now know was false. People were believed and their statements conveyed worldwide whose interest was not in the conveying of facts but in the instigation of war. We now know people like the infamous ‘Curveball’ were telling whatever lies seemed credible that would reinforce the need for verbal ammunition to attack the countries already listed by the White House and State Department for undermining, chaos, destruction and possible invasion.
We are in just such a situation now.
The enemies are no longer al-Qaeda, not ISIS or even international terrorism. We are told that Russia and perhaps China are the West’s primary enemies. Al-Qaeda and ISIS have even been used by all accounts against Syria in aid of U.S. ambitions for regime change there.
The war being fought now is no longer George W. Bush’s ‘War on Terror’. It is a war that is difficult to define but rests on the following criteria:
1. After 9/11 it was decided that it was imperative for the USA and the West in general not only to retain their ability to manipulate world events, it was utterly vital that they should expand these to the furthest possible point that they named ‘Full Spectrum Dominance’.
2. The West is now losing this long-standing ability to manipulate world events, almost by the hour to China and those allied with her.
It is largely the obvious and total conflict between these two conditions that plays the major part in the war we have seen being waged for at least the last fifteen years.
But the devil as usual is in the detail regarding the factors above, aspects that lend ever greater urgency to them and which motivate western elites powers to significantly curtail freedom of speech to the point of totalitarianism.
The first thing to grasp is the reality that western elites are in war mode and have been for over a decade and a half.
In war mode you tolerate no questioning of your motives or actions. You demand a unified front against your perceived enemies and you feel justified in being as hard as can against those who do not obey your insistence on a single unified narrative that acts as an arrow aimed at the heart of the enemy. Any doubts, quibbles or criticisms are mercilessly treated as traitorous acts which will blunt that arrow. For you this is anathema, intolerable, unpatriotic in the extreme, the acts of abominable traitors. You feel fully justified in destroying the reputations of such people as a patriotic act, you can treat them as fair game, lie about them, call them names, spread unwarranted accusations about them, set them up in sting operations... whatever. They are ‘fair game’, public enemies for the CIA and others to deal with and deal with without any recourse to normal standards of morality or ethical behavior. All usual norms are suspended in wartime and in wartime the war mode IS the norm... until the day your enemy is totally defeated.
‘All’s Fair in Love and War.’
So no one should be surprised when eminent voices such as that of the late Stephen F. Cohen are impugned, when such people are called names such as ‘Apologist for the Soviet Union’, ‘Putin’s Puppet’ or worse. No one should be surprised when entire careers are ruined and lives wrecked with seeming merciless cynicism and with no reference to just behavior or true justice in general.
And in this way no one should be surprised by Russiagate, by the use by the CIA and all America’s intelligence agencies of generalized and unverified claims of ‘Russian Interference’ or ‘Russian Disinformation’. You may have once or twice laughed at the number of things the Russians are supposed to have done. It became ridiculous on its face and it continues to be so. But the people behind these campaigns have nowhere else to go with their agenda. Though China has begun to enter the picture more and more as the next candidate for the believable lie machine that is the western intelligence community.
With a Biden presidency we will see this totally institutionalized as solid fact. Russia will be denounced openly and frequently as the greatest threat to America there has ever been. (Notwithstanding that she has an economy about the size of South Korea’s.) Why Russia has been picked as the main whipping boy for western elites is open to debate. I suspect, as in the past, the U.S. has picked what it perceives as the weaker target available. China also will emerge in clear focus with the gun sights of those dedicated, within their war mode to achieve point 1. above and to the death if necessary. But for now it’s Russia that is still the primary target. Perhaps because they thought they had dealt with Russia at the end of the Eighties and can’t stand the thought that she slipped from their grasp again and into the hands of someone who so expertly relates the many negatives involved in living on a planet where a single nation or group of nations holds the reigns of power over all others, the unipolar world that comes as a natural consequence of the West achieving their goal in point 1.
And, I predict, we will see a libertarian totalitarianism that outdoes even the months and years after 9/11 with every liberal MSM institution fully on board ready to castigate anyone who says anything contrary to the official “truth” from the Democrat dictatorship above. For that is what I believe the Democratic Party is leaning heavily toward becoming, the only party of truth, the true guardians who no others can match, the natural government of the USA and that only traitors, useful idiots, enemies of freedom and criminally evil foreign agents would ever wish to deny this fact.
Be careful what you wish for America. The America you love due to your right to free speech is under a very real threat. This is not hyperbole, the signs are already clearly there to be seen. The Democratic Party has transformed in recent years and though you may think it is your savior from Trump it may well be your nemesis regarding your most inalienable right of all, to speak your mind.

THE WESTERN WAR ON FREE SPEECH
Friday, 30 October 2020
DIVISIONS WITHIN DIVISIONS WITHIN DIVISIONS
Islam is at war with the French government and a magazine publishing images anathema to Muslims.
Armenians and Azeris are in a fight to the death over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Britain is leaving the European Union and Scotland will attempt to then leave the United Kingdom.
Rioters in Hong Kong want it to leave China.
India and Pakistan continue to war over Kashmir.
The Jews of Israel and the Palestinians are no closer to resolving their differences than ever.
Saudi Arabia continues to fight a proxy war against Iran in Yemen.
Turkey fights to keep the Idlib region of Syria from the rightful government of the country.
Donald Trump has partitioned a section of Syria in order to steal its oil.
The USA continues to pressurize Venezuela and Cuba and intends to do the same to Nicaragua.
U.S. elites talk about Russia and China as adversaries or even enemies.
Meanwhile... a pandemic best fought in a unified manner runs rampage due to diverse standards across the world and even within individual nations.
And... if the scientists are correct the disastrous effects of climate change will soon be upon us demand us to seek a unity of purpose or be overwhelmed by death and destruction.
Telecommunications link us all in a web that should bring us closer, make us feel connected, no longer alone, no longer isolated, part of a global civilization that has a bright future where solutions are increasingly found to problems long thought to be intractable.
We have such awe-inspiring, adaptable and flexible technology now, our power to effect change has never been greater, our knowledge never so fast or so accessible. Yet we flounder almost blindly from one crisis to the next, misunderstanding each other, contradicting, insulting, marginalizing and demonizing each other.
Seen from space our world appears tranquil, startlingly beautiful, turning quietly in space. We are blessed with a million delights, wonderful landscapes, incredible natural wonders of every kind, brilliant blue oceans and verdant jungles... an incredible paradise if only we could only find some way to calmly share all this between us.
But no, we are at war. Both within ourselves and with others.
And what is the prospect of better times ahead? With shrinking resources ever more aggressively sought after, with populations outside developed nations rising fast, with this pandemic and who knows worse pandemics to come... and climate change, the catastrophe that might see the end of many of us, many cities too. Rising water levels and harsher climates with interminable storms, wrecked harvests, economies and a species at the end of its tether.
I am not being overly pessimistic I think. The dangers are real. Meanwhile we fight within the dining hall of the Titanic while the lifeboats stand ready if we would only take our attention off of gaining an advantage over others and turn to save us all. If we do not the path we take will, I estimate, be dark and lonely indeed. The survivors may wonder if they made the right decision to claw their way to safety when they see what their existence will consist of in that devastated world of the future.
A wrecked world where all beauty has been destroyed through divisions within divisions within divisions.
THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS IS STILL EVIL
Why is the USA in this position?
Because its political system is based on hard cash.
You will not succeed in American politics without big money behind you. It’s simply not possible.
Bernie Sanders broke the mold of how this is done however by basically being crowdfunded.
If he wasn’t so old and wedded to the Democratic Party he could create one hell of a dynamic third party. Sadly, both these aspects of the man mean there will be no third party to challenge the two major U.S. parties led by him.
But he has shown the way. If enough people want to see a third major party emerge they can see it happen by backing one with some cash. That was a more doable venture before the pandemic hit but there’s time enough before the next major elections.
I can see that many Americans are now totally sick of the two party dictatorship wherein they are both dictated to by moneyed interests. The billionaires, the millionaires, the corporations and their lobbyists along with corporate-owned mass media, they all conspire to keep America where it is, working in only their interests, not in the interests of the American people as a whole.
If enough people are sicked sufficiently then sooner later something’s
gotta give. Surely people will only take so much of being lied to and
led into wars they don’t want, having to make do with third rate
infrastructure when many other nations are upgrading to 21st century
standards?
Sticking always with the lesser of two evils cannot possibly move things forward, only a crowdfunded third party that is not beholden to any of the big money interests will have the incentive and make the commitment to making the changes that are so desperately needed by the people of the USA now.
It will take guts. It will take switching off the two-party circus of the damned. It will take a boycott of mainstream media news and their “I’m totally right and you’re totally wrong!” mentality. It will take caring more for your nation and its people than petty arguments along these lines. Because both parties are wrong at this point to greater or lesser degree. And both of them a very high percentage of the time do what a small clique of wealthy individuals and boards of directors tell them to do, either directly or because the politicians involved don’t want to get on their wrong side... in case they switch sides.
There is a full spectrum of possibilities out there in this new, modern world. Why stick with two old dinosaur parties, both of which use only a tiny fraction of that entire spectrum? For that is where America is at right now. You see it daily. The fixed mindsets that argue constantly over the same issues, the tiny set of hard-nosed warmongers who seem to come from an entirely different age, the lobbyists with an agenda to keep things just as they are with all the various negatives that involves and institutions across the board from the police to the military who like things just as they are.
America is leaving making the change to a truly modern and globally inclusive political system very late. A two-headed monopoly is fighting to stay in power, both happy to be just where they are, win or lose, with a seat at the table. Why do you think the Democrats were so anxious to undermine Bernie again and replace him with an establishment bruiser? Because this way, even if they lose, they are still up there, all the establishment veterans, still addicted to that whiff of power they get win or lose.
This is hopefully the last presidential election where only two powerful parties vie to gain a virtual dictatorship for the next four years. By 2024 let there be a revolution like the one Bernie called for but again failed to ignite as fully as needed. Get your act together people.
End this interminable battle between two evils and the sickening choice between them. Get that third party up to speed, fund it to the hilt... and have an end to this evil. If you do the world will gladly welcome you as a true partner to the world, not as its overlord. And no longer will the memory linger of those two historic evils, Biden and Trump.
THE FIXED LIE PARADIGM OF THE WEST
The West is Best. The West is Just. The West is Free.
All lies.
The West is personified by genocide, colonialism, violence, invasion, mass murder and slavery.
The archetypal nature of the West is defined by its vices clearly evidenced by the destructive evil it has engendered.
The West was founded on power and its abuse, never on its so-called democracy or freedom.
The great houses and palaces of Europe were built on the slavery of serfdom.
The entire nation of the USA was built upon the genocide of the native population and the slavery of Africans.
The British Empire was built on the subjugation of sovereign states and the enslavement of their populations.
A continuing evil of aggression, urge to dominate, habit of threatening, lust to overpower and overwhelming greed to exploit, nations globally has characterized the ethos of the West.
Why should we believe western elites have changed one whit over the past
many hundreds of years? Is it not much more likely that they are within
a fixed paradigm of parading the same lies before us as ever? And that
behind these lies the clear truth of the matter is that they were evil,
are evil now and will remain forever evil until quarantined for good?
Th elites of the West compose incessant myths and lies about themselves to hide the truth of their manifest evil.
Lies about the genocide of populations.Lies about serfdom and slavery. Lies about colonialism. Lies about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Lies about the fall of Communism. Lies about Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Venezuela, Cuba, China and Russia. Lies about their intentions. Lies about their policies. Lies about their actions. Lies about their lies.
The West is only best at deceiving, at creating a facade of respectability while acting as the primary force for evil on our planet. It maintains a constant mirage of saintliness while engaging in obvious criminality on the international stage.
Western elites massage minds to install a false image of themselves. Their mass media is the channel by which a constant flow of deception is spewed onto every citizen exposing themselves to it.
They manufacture consent for their lies by every possible avenue available to them through every contrivance from weaponized embassies to NATO to a plethora of NGOs to each compliant political party to the complicit minions who mirror the lies spewed by each outlet.
Look closely at them and their lies then past them at the reality.
Look at every destructive and murderous act they have committed. Look at the RESULTS of their policies ignoring their “justifications". Look at their predatory capitalism. Look at the litany of crimes against humanity. Look at the criminality of their intelligence agencies. Look at their history of invading sovereign nations. Look at their war crimes in acts of mass murder.
Look past their incessant, all-permeating and constantly deceiving, propaganda.
Determine always to look deeper, discerning the reality, the obvious reality. Never allow yourself to be confused by western elite myth-making propaganda. It is sown deep and continuously through every possible channel and nuance to contrive an ignorance of the true intent, motivation and outcome of western elite evil.
The truth stares us in the face... but to each side and in front of it is a barrage of untruths, phony justifications, self-serving explanations, erroneous mythologies, establishment assertions and knowing elite deception.
Look past their constantly refreshed smokescreen of lies and face directly the obvious reality of their deep and abiding evil.
The fixed lie paradigm of the West can only be effective if we grant it reality. To be truly free, to support those victimized by it and to never be blinded by it again we must first see it for what it is.
A matrix of knowing lies designed specifically to keep themselves in power and us ignorant of their constant evil.
This is the fixed lie paradigm of the West.

COMMUNISM FELL DUE TO GREED, LIES & AMBITION
Did communism fail in the Soviet Union & Warsaw Pact nations because of the failure of their systems, or because of the greed, lies & ambition of western elites & their willing proxies within those nations?
I am of the opinion that it was only a sizeable minority within these countries who brought down the greatest humanitarian experiment our world has ever seen, in combination with the cynical and utterly callous elites of the western world.
It was NOT the internal contradictions and failures of these states that brought their downfall, it was not their arguably excessive repression of internal dissent or the actions of a heavy-handed dictatorship. I believe the primary factor was the same greed-driven, inherently selfish ambitions of the disaffected few conjoined with inexorable pressure from outside that we see and have seen time and time again as western elites seek to destabilize systems not under their direct control. We have seen their machinations time and time again across the world. We have seen it anywhere western elites have targeted nations for regime change. We have seen it in Hong Kong, we saw it in Ukraine, it has been seen in Iran and Venezuela... and we see it currently in Belarus.
The CIA among many others across the panoply of western state institutions along with western NGOs are tasked with the goal of bringing down societies, leaderships and institutions which threaten the dominance of western capitalism and its elite puppet-masters.
We were all told to believe that communism had failed due to its internals flaws and contradictions. But was this truly the case?
The goal of communism is to provide all citizens of communist/socialist states with the strong and stable foundation that will ensure they have a reliable base on which to live decent lives. This is inevitably a long term goal. To enable only a proportion of citizens the best of everything and leave the majority to slave, suffer and live in relative poverty by comparison with them is a much shorter process.
The misfortune for those idealists who believed in the communist/socialist solution for general well being, happiness, security, dignity and a decent life for all was that the new technologies of the modern world we now live in overtook them and created the means for a greed-driven and/or selfishly ambitious minority to overwhelm the normal means of ensuring stability.
Many near the periphery of communist/socialist states had access to western television channels. It was difficult to argue that all they saw would one day also come to the people who watched them, that they must be patient for the goal was to provide for everyone, not just for the few. This argument, if it was made, failed to impress a sizeable percentage of these populations with the result we all know all too well.
Gorbachev had wished to open up the communist/socialist system not destroy it. His innovative approach had sense behind it and might have borne fruit in an earlier time. But the germ of greed and the seeds of desire proved too powerful and his efforts only opened the door for the systems he held so dear. This is why Vladimir Putin bemoaned the end of the communist/socialist dream, not because he thought it was perfect but because he knew the tremendous potential that was within it and the incredible levels of human good that it personified in so many ways, a unity of selfless spirit with its attendant selfless goal. All dashed on the rocks of greed, lies and ambition.
Do not hide away from the fact that this is what the western elites had wanted, nor to, to the fact that their goals had precisely NOTHING to do with bringing freedom or democracy. The Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations were merely competition.
All the seemingly benign statements about releasing the oppressed citizens of these countries so they could enjoy the great systems of capitalism were, as usual, all deeply cynical lies. These people and these nations would simply be slave workers and consumers for the West, their resources plundered and their airwaves and other propaganda sources simply filled with their own form of dictatorship, liberal totalitarianism.
The elites who proclaimed themselves saviors of people who formerly lived within communist/socialist nations lied incessantly using the most believable rhetoric their speech-writers could devise. In truth they didn’t give a fuck about those people, just as they don’t give a fuck about the people of Belarus, Syria, Iran, Ukraine, Venezuela, Cuba, China or Russia. Nothing any western politician says should EVER be taken at face value. What they should never be confused with what they really think or their actual goals. NEVER.
The most idealistic and human-oriented system this world has ever known and potentially will ever know was destroyed from within and without for purely self-interested reasons.
Left to endure their growing pains on the way to the ideal society envisioned by its founders communism/socialism would have evolved and grown to the point where the living standard of its citizens would have matched those in the West though without the various degraded lifestyles, chronic divisions, arrant wastefulness, gross inequity and vile depravities within it that have been seen ever more nakedly in these recent decades.
The human species at its best would share this world and all its incredible beauty and fascinating diversity. Only a depraved mindset would wish to hoard all this just for the benefit of the fortunate few who through good luck, privilege, inheritance or aggression found a way to the top of the pile.
Communism/socialism sprang from the deepest and best of the selfless human instinct. Capitalism at its most venal springs from a totally selfish and self-interested emotion that cares nothing for its effect on others.
It is almost too late to transition to the kind of future the founders of communism/socialism envisioned. However, we can and must nurture those societies which retain their communist/socialist roots for they are the potential growth points for a world and civilization on this planet that we can be truly proud of.
If we don’t protect and nourish those societies will inevitably become a fascistic, dog-eat-dog runt of a bastardized world where greed, lies and ambition rule all.
TRUMP / BIDEN : KEEPING THE USA TOP DOG
Trump is a belligerent asshole. That’s a given. He would destroy the world for America’s gain.
But Biden is the one that can achieve that task almost single-handed.
The goal is world domination in either case. Trump’s motivation is economic. Biden’s is ideological.
Trump sees America as a triumphalist and wholly exceptional world-beater in terms of economic power. Military power he is only interested in if there is some profit from it. A case in point is Syria’s oil. Otherwise he sees only negative effects in terms of money expended endlessly in a series of unsuccessful military adventures with no reflected glory in them for himself.
Biden sees America as the world’s foremost military power exerting massive influence through the fear and obedience engendered by that power. He believes in the neoconservative principle.s of necessary predominance of the USA over all others. There can be no doubt from his recent statements that he sees the U.S. military as the world’s police force.
Trump has been an absolutely corrosive influence on the world regarding any hopes of unity. Pulling out of the Paris accords and the Iran nuclear deal disrupted a trend toward greater unity in the face of perceived threats to humanity. His motivation in doing so was clear during his campaign to become president in 2016. His focus is, as he says, to reinforce American “greatness” and he doesn’t care who or what has to be destroyed in the process. His divisive nature and policies come at a time when the world faces twin threats, the pandemic and climate change, and more to come and requires high levels of unity to survive them.
Biden will create unity as opposed to Trump’s divisiveness however, that unity will be among those he intends to weaponize even more fully against the half of our world that refuses to comply with U.S. demands or to comply with the notion that the USA with its allies be the unipolar hub all other nations must submit to. Biden will unify U.S. allies in order to divide our world into two distinct halves, two increasingly divergent systems and two increasingly antagonistic coalitions. He will name them “The Free World” and “The Enemies of the Free World”.
Trump is capable of starting a war through his arrogance and continual push for American gain without reference to moral or ethical values, good sense, normal logic or international norms. His focus is on success for him and for the USA without any consideration for mutually beneficial arrangements. He has the mentality of the worst kind of business mobster and crook. He in essence has NO values or principles when it comes to transactions in business, world economics or geopolitics. His sole determination is to win all through whatever dirty methods he cares to use and to hell with any opposition he encounters.
Biden will use every propaganda sophistry at his command via U.S. intelligence agencies and the liberal elite of America to permeate the entire western environment with a new jingoism that will inevitably lead to a permanent split in the world. China and Russia will continue to be targeted for ever harsher accusations, they will be vilified even beyond the level seen to date. Biden and his support base across the U.S. intelligence agencies, within the United Nations and American mass media will attempt to taint the upper echelons of Russian and Chinese authority with the same kind of techniques the Nazis used against the Jews: Generalized accusations of evil.
Trump is not averse to using any techniques Biden favors, however he has chosen mild criticism of allies and their primary instrument of aggression, NATO. He has cast doubt on the verity and trustworthiness of U.S. intelligence agencies and has made mortal enemies of American mass media. The two camps are clear to see and it is patently obvious that those Trump has denigrated and downplayed the integrity of have worked ceaselessly against him.
Biden has the U.S. intelligence agencies and America’s mass media on his side therefore. It does not take a degree in rocket science to see this. It is as clear as day. The number of security state officials who have announced their support for Biden along with prominent members of the George W. Bush administration leave no doubt whatsoever regarding this point.
Due to all the factors above the people of the USA have an utterly unenviable choice to make in just under a week’s time therefore. With no sign whatsoever of any movement to a viable third party they have only these two evils to choose from. Further global division at home and abroad arising from Mafia/Fascist/racist-style Trump policies or relative unity within a liberal totalitarianism at home where critical voices are suppressed and endless war abroad.
Trump will lay the groundwork for an attempted U.S. supremacy through economics.
Biden will lay the groundwork for an attempted U.S. supremacy through militarism.
Two foul choices in a world reeling in agonies due to factors requiring a multipolar world to effectively deal with them.
This heralds a hellishly bleak outlook either way... as the USA seeks interminably to be the world's top dog.

WAR MODE & THE DRONES
No, it's not the name of some super group, though in one way that's close...
The War Mode
You may be reading this as someone who is constantly aware that the elites who run your nation are lying to you about the wars they wage.
This bothers you. You suspect that they are missing information they need to know so they'd stop.
I strongly suspect this latter is not the case.
The facts themselves are easy to see. They are not hidden and they are well known to those with eyes to see and ears to hear. My suspicion more and more is that this knowledge is not confined to those of us in opposition to the wars and the lies that seek to justify them.
I suspect that the vast majority who perpetrate the acts we find so abhorrent also know exactly what they are doing.
The difference I believe is that they have what they believe are extremely good reasons/justifications for doing them and also for saying whatever they have to, including bare-faced lies, to be able to continue doing them.
James Clapper is an obvious case in this respect I would maintain. His 180 degree slants on Russia and his record of a bare-faced lie regarding NSA spying on Americans reveals the CIA ethos that you say whatever will minimize opposition and/or whatever will maximize the desired effect. I came to the conclusion quite some time ago that these people are constantly in war mode.
As you will know in war mode everything is permissible and counter-arguments are inadmissible. You do whatever you "have" to do to confuse and weaken the enemy and you come down hard on critics no matter how constructive, ethical or just they may be trying to be or in their intent toward you.
You cannot afford to be understanding and take on points, even when valid in this state. In war you must be ever strong, never weakening for a moment and willing to do absolutely anything to win as your nation's security depends upon it. Especially since 9/11 this I believe has been the predominant impulse.
Russia is simply one aspect of the war front that is negative and therefore a target for weakening in every possible way using every possible means without reference to morality, ethical conduct, truth or any other related characteristic no longer valid in times of war.
The Busy Drones
As to us, the general public in the USA, UK and Europe I suspect too many of us have our heads down with very little attention or free time to spare to worry about the wider world but are concentrated upon everyday concerns of themselves, their families and making progress in an increasingly demanding world. Plus, all the various life pursuits now available take up so much of our time also which we are either naturally interested in or that we, in modern times, have been seduced into partaking in. These take up most of the remaining percentage of time left to people that the working day leaves free.
I suspect also that people have "facts" on too many subjects hitting their nervous systems and brain functions at too great a frequency to gain clear ideas concerning what’s going on. And even if they do have a reasonably clear view I am sure in most cases an overwhelmingly fatalistic state hits soon afterwards and they conceive of how little they could do personally and then the many justifications arise to do nothing or extremely little.
"What do I really know?", "What could I as one person do?" The answers of course are, relatively-speaking, not much in both cases. Perhaps a sigh is emitted and his/her focus switches to the many and insistent chores and activities of the day.
The possibility of doing something remains latent in those few and that provides a little hope for us perhaps in that if there happened (by some miracle) to be a powerful groundswell of opinion and action against all we abhor then they would spring to help having once had these feelings and thoughts though they felt at the time they could do little or nothing on their own.
This I believe is where we stand now. A groundswell against the many areas where modern elite-led capitalist forces run things is rising, albeit with a long way to go before it become the major threat to the established order that the Sixties protests presented.
The iniquities of the elite-run capitalist system, especially that predominating in the USA which I think deserves the term hyper-capitalism, are becoming more obvious by the day. Toleration of them for the sake of earning a living which only barely meets the needs of the workers in their symbiotic relation to the elites is wearing thin. And the mass disruption to employment of the Covid-19 pandemic is leaving many wondering about just how stable the system is, how reliable for them and their families and the future of their children.
Western elites are intent on pursuing their war. The vast majority of their citizens don’t want this. Yet their elites continue relentlessly. They conceive themselves to be at war and nothing but continuous attacks on those they have targeted as enemies can be countenanced. They are fair game in their minds, no lie is too big, no conduct too unethical or immoral. The use of terrorists, propagandizing activists such as The White Helmets and myriad NGOs are simply “necessary” weapons in the fight for the outcomes they believe to be utterly crucial for the continued well being of their nations and the values they believe in. That the continued domination of others for their self-interest is sublimated under these other “noble” causes which justify continued war and continued lying.
We live in a world at war. We are the drones. And our elites, if we live in the West, are in war mode.
Don’t expect the elite wars, or the lies that are an integral part of those wars, to end any time soon.

AMERICAN BEAUTY
From that morning in some breakfast room in a tourist town until now I’ve always tended to have a soft spot for Americans.
It would be some twelve more years before I’d come across my next American but I never forgot that fellow. He seemed to embrace the room and everyone in its in a way that fascinated me at the time as a young boy. What kind of a wonderful alien being is this, so unlike the staid people I was aware of in my own land. I liked his openness, his good humor and most of all his clear delight in communication.
I’ve found 99% of Americans I’ve ever known in my life (I am 70 now) extremely personable. I’ve liked them VERY much. I’ve liked how they are mostly willing to engage you naturally with straight-forward personalities that seek to be affable and courteous. Maybe I’ve been lucky and it’s true that most Americans I have met have been travelers outside their country, but this is my constant perception on them.
I’ve traveled quite a bit in America down the years, first starting some 25 years back when I spent two weeks in New York. Later I made trips with my wife when we toured Florida and enjoyed cruises around the Caribbean sharing evening round the dinner table with a group of six Americans who lived in a gated community in Florida. We had many great conversations. This was just before the 2016 presidential election. They were all Trump supporters and i got to see that you didn’t have to be any kind of a racist bigot to be a Trump supporter, these people could not have been nicer.
Later on our tour around Florida we were able to visit our dinner partners in their homes and then walk through their town center to where the rest of their community were having a communal meal together in one of the town’s restaurants. We were made to feel very much at home. Everyone we met confirmed that first impression I’d had at age ten of Americans, that they were fine people who enjoyed the company of others and were supremely affable.
Now I know that all Americans won’t be the kind of supremely nice ones that I have always visualized Americans to be in my mind, there will be unpleasant Americans no doubt, I have simply never met one to date and to be honest, I hope I never will.
Every American I have met until now I have admired for the selfsame qualities I found on the occasion of my first experience of them 60 years ago, long ago and far away. And it is these qualities that I will always carry in my mind in association with Americans.
I have a good friend who is America who lives in the same city as me, far from his native land. His name is Jonathan. We meet for a beer or two now and then. We talk... what else?... politics. American politics. He leans to the right, is moderately conservative and doesn’t agree with my somewhat negative view on Trump but that’s okay, like most Americans I have met he is willing to talk, happy to talk, and enjoys shooting the breeze with a calm understanding that there can be differences of opinion... and with a characteristic I have observed in all the Americans I have liked so much, a curiosity to know more. More about where he or she is, to know more about you and your life, to know more concerning the world around them, including what their darned politicians are doing.
American politicians, especially those who seek to lay their preconceived ideas on us out here in the rest of the world are the ones that have been the cause of my upset over the years, not everyday Americans. With all my diatribes about successive American governments this is something I probably should have made clear earlier. It is the governance of America that bugs me, everyday Americans I have always enjoyed for their warmth, amiable personalities and openly expressed curiosity about the world.
This is one of the very many aspects of the Americans I have met that I have almost universally liked. They are people with an admirable curiosity to match their openness and warmth of character. I love that combination of characteristics. For me they are the primary characteristics that for me constitute the main reasons I like them so much and what I consider to be the essence of a very real American Beauty.

HEGEMONY AND HYPOCRISY
U.S. elites reserve the right to use the world outside U.S. borders as a fiefdom which they consider they have the supreme right to control.
At times we hear this is a God-given right, at others, self-awarded with no need of higher sanction.
The global territories the U.S. elites deem their own to do with as they wish they also regard as areas where their writ must run and if not then they have the right to demand changes. This is not regarded as interference, more as being helpful in removing any and all barriers to what is right. And who decides what is right? The elites of the USA of course.
Is there a nation that is not subject to the will of these elites? No, though nations that correspond to their demands of rectitude and more importantly, their interests, are exempt on a case by case basis depending on them continuing to submit to their good graces.
This is considered to be the natural order of things and is generally agreed upon by those resting within the direct orbit of these elites.
The ultimate goal is for all nations to reside within the orbit of the USA acknowledging it as the unipolar, supremely dominant power, bar none, the arbiter of all right and wrong, judge, jury and executioner of Planet Earth.
There is a problem however.
Some nations wish to go their own way quite outside of the fiefdom the elites of the USA have taken upon themselves to govern, monitor and discipline whenever necessary.
This conflicts fundamentally with the needs and interests of U.S. elites and herein lies the crucial problem facing our species at this juncture in our history.
U.S. elites and their allies consider their systems of governance are superior to all others and that they have a mission to replace all inferior forms of governance and so bring recalcitrant nations into the fold of submission to what is right and best for them. However, some nations have leaderships which reject this offer of “help”. These nations regard their own systems of government as entirely adequate for the purpose and find it easy to point out obvious defects within the nations who consider their superiority provides them with ultimate authority.
This brings us to the thorny problem of unwanted interference.
As things stand, U.S. elites and their allies have the unrestricted right to interfere (though they would never use this word) anywhere, at any time, and by virtually any means with the justifications given above.
If there should be any suggestion however, that the complaints of those they are trying to “help” affected the saintly morale of their cultures sowing doubt and heaven save us (!) confusion then approbation at its loudest is heard, with a great swelling of breasts to indignantly anunciate, “How Dare They!” For this is interference in the proud and always faultlessly perfect and omnipotent USA, their teacher. How could this be? How very ungrateful!
The traffic of helpful suggestions, sometimes involving missiles is permitted only in one direction you see. Anything else is so unthinkable as to be almost an unimaginable crime beyond all human ken. Who could possibly believe that it is right to doubt their teacher much less trouble him with cries of unwarranted woe when what is being done is wholly for their own good?
Can’t they see how much better everything would be if they just obeyed the commands given, learn their lesson and submit quietly? Are they suffering so much from their mental deficiencies that they cannot understand this one simple instruction? To obey?
It’s almost as if they are ASKING for corporal punishment, isn’t it?
MISUSED INTELLIGENCE
Organizations set up to promulgate the essence of their nation’s ethos and self-interest forfeit any right to expect those looking on to believe in their rigor regarding to objectivity.
The CIA lost any right to respect for its delivery of objective information many times over the years. It proved itself to be corrupted as a trustworthy medium on the few occasions when it was investigated. During the vast majority of its time in existence it has been able to do its dirty work in secret. Then, when such work came to view through disasters in which it was involved the public at large got to inspect its dirty underwear.
The Bay of Pigs attack upon the sovereignty of Cuba was a case in point. The CIA had its grubby hands deep within the organization of that prospective coup attempt.
Then its attempts to corrupt the entirety of U.S. mass media was revealed. It’s ‘Operation Mockingbird’ had the goal of ensuring that the North American public only received information that supported U.S. state narratives. This involved locating so-called journalists who were already biased in that respect and grooming others they could feed fake news to for channeling forward. In this way through compliant shills and malleable others the CIA could get the appropriate articles written. Sometimes articles were written in-house and seeded far afield within foreign news organizations from where they would return when picked up by U.S. publishing houses and broadcasters. This technique served well to hide the original source in Langley.
Unfortunately for the CIA this scam was outed and the Church Committee was set up to investigate.
Operation Mockingbird is worth looking at in some detail to shine some light into the trustworthiness of the CIA and also U.S./western mainstream media.
The Church Committee investigations looked into government operations and potential abuses by the CIA, the NSA, the FBI and the IRS.
Its findings showed that the CIA had infiltrated almost all of U.S. mainstream media, virtually all the media that existed in the country at that time.
‘In 1948 Frank Wisner was appointed director of the Office of Special Projects. Soon afterwards it was renamed the Office of Policy Coordination (OPC). This became the espionage and counter-intelligence branch of the Central Intelligence Agency. Wisner was told to create an organization that concentrated on "propaganda, economic warfare; preventive direct action, including sabotage, anti-sabotage, demolition and evacuation measures; subversion against hostile states, including assistance to underground resistance groups, and support of indigenous anti-Communist elements in threatened countries of the free world."
Later that year Wisner established Mockingbird, a program to influence the domestic American media. Wisner recruited Philip Graham (Washington Post) to run the project within the industry. Graham himself recruited others who had worked for military intelligence during the war. This included James Truitt, Russell Wiggins, Phil Geyelin, John Hayes and Alan Barth. Others like Stewart Alsop, Joseph Alsop and James Reston, were recruited from within the Georgetown Set. According to Deborah Davis, the author of Katharine the Great (1979) : "By the early 1950s, Wisner 'owned' respected members of the New York Times, Newsweek, CBS and other communications vehicles."
One of the most important journalists under the control of Operation Mockingbird was Joseph Alsop, whose articles appeared in over 300 different newspapers. Other journalists willing to promote the views of the CIA included Stewart Alsop (New York Herald Tribune), Ben Bradlee (Newsweek), James Reston (New York Times), C. D. Jackson (Time Magazine), Walter Pincus (Washington Post), Walter Winchell (New York Daily Mirror), Drew Pearson, Walter Lippmann, William Allen White, Edgar Ansel Mowrer (Chicago Daily News), Hal Hendrix (Miami News), Whitelaw Reid (New York Herald Tribune), Jerry O'Leary (Washington Star), William C. Baggs (Miami News), Herb Gold (Miami News) and Charles L. Bartlett (Chattanooga Times). According to Nina Burleigh, the author of A Very Private Woman, (1998) these journalists sometimes wrote articles that were commissioned by Frank Wisner. The CIA also provided them with classified information to help them with their work.
After 1953 the network was overseen by Allen W. Dulles, director of the Central Intelligence Agency. By this time Operation Mockingbird had a major influence over 25 newspapers and wire agencies. These organizations were run by people such as William Paley (CBS), Henry Luce (Time Magazine and Life Magazine), Arthur Hays Sulzberger (New York Times), Helen Rogers Reid (New York Herald Tribune), Dorothy Schiff (New York Post), Alfred Friendly (managing editor of the Washington Post), Barry Bingham (Louisville Courier-Journal) and James S. Copley (Copley News Services).
According to Alex Constantine (Mockingbird: The Subversion Of The Free Press By The CIA), in the 1950s, "some 3,000 salaried and contract CIA employees were eventually engaged in propaganda efforts". Wisner was also able to restrict newspapers from reporting about certain events. For example, the CIA plots to overthrow the governments of Iran and Guatemala.’
(Much more here: https://spartacus-educational.com/JFKmockingbird.htm)
It will not have escaped your notice how very little has changed from those years to this. Mainstream media in the USA channels the narratives of the U.S. state without fail and continues to omit an even-handed rendering of regime change target events, always backing the state narrative on false flag events for instance and never making any comment on military atrocities by the USA except as “mistakes”.
A 1977 article in Rolling Stone, written by Carl Bernstein, was titled “The CIA and the Media.” Bernstein said in the article that the CIA “has secretly bankrolled numerous foreign press services, periodicals and newspapers—both English and foreign language—which provided excellent cover for CIA operatives.”
If anyone believes the CIA has changed fundamentally since the time of the these events I would like to see them to arrange the sale of a fifty year old car with zero miles on the clock.
‘The CIA has a way of very publicly blowing their cover—seeming to pop up wherever turmoil, strife, and political unrest materialize. Despite being almost synonymous with dirty tricks, the Agency has essentially been given free rein, permitted to use whatever tactics they see fit to deal with any (real or perceived) threat to American interests.
If there’s one thing we know about absolute power, it’s that it corrupts absolutely; and if there’s one thing we know about the CIA, it’s that the astoundingly unethical and criminal projects highlighted in this list are probably just the tip of the iceberg.
PBSuccess
PBSuccess was the code name for a CIA-backed coup led against the democratically elected government of Jacobo Arbenz, the President of Guatemala, in 1954. It’s one of the first in a long line of suspected or acknowledged CIA interventions in the governments of foreign countries, and it was indeed a tremendous success from the Agency’s point of view.—the first indication that such a feat could be accomplished relatively smoothly.
Elected in 1950, Arbenz set about instituting reforms aimed at making his country self-sufficient, by giving huge chunks of government land back to citizens. This rubbed the US Government the wrong way, as much of this land was “owned” by the United Fruit Company, a truly evil corporation with which the Eisenhower administration was snugly in bed at the time (CIA director Allen Dulles and his brother John, the Secretary of State, both had strong ties to the company).
The Agency snidely referred to Arbenz policies in internal memoranda as “an intensely nationalistic program of progress colored by the touchy, anti-foreign inferiority complex of the ‘Banana Republic.’ ” In other words, non-dependence on the US and its allies was not to be tolerated.
Four hundred and eighty CIA-trained mercenary soldiers, led by exiled Guatemalan military officer Colonel Carlos Castillo Armas, forcibly wrested Guatemala from Arbenz’ control. While he and his aides were able to flee the country, CIA documents show that “the option of assassination was still being considered” right up until the day he resigned on June 27, 1954.
Operation Mongoose
After the failed Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba, the Agency’s public image was worse than ever. President Kennedy famously proclaimed that he would “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds” (shortly before getting shot, but we digress). But to deal with Cuba, he turned to the only person he knew he could trust: his brother, Robert, who organized Operation Mongoose. This operation was conducted by the Department of Defense in conjunction with the CIA, under Robert Kennedy’s supervision. He told his team at its first briefing that deposing Castro was “the top priority of the US government—all else is secondary—no time, money, effort, or manpower is to be spared.”
Among the dozens of extremely silly methods of assassination proposed: infecting Castro’s scuba gear with tuberculosis; planting exploding seashells at a favorite diving site; slipping him a poisoned fountain pen; and even even poisoning or slipping a bomb into one of his cigars. Castro’s bodyguard asserted that there were hundreds of CIA schemes on Castro’s life—and they all ended in failure, a gigantic waste of time and money. Castro was Cuba’s dictator for forty-nine years, stepping down in 2008 due to failing health, and appointing his younger brother as his replacement.
CIA-Produced Pornography
President Sukarno ruled Indonesia from 1959 until 1966, when he was deposed by Suharto, one of his generals. Sukarno had been deemed pro-Communist by the CIA, which meant there would inevitably be an attempt to oust him or at least make him look bad—but the plot they actually came up with was truly laughable.
The CIA produced a porno film starring a Sukarno look-alike, titled “Happy Days”, for distribution in Indonesia. Not that the culture generally frowns upon such things, but as the CIA understood it, “being tricked, deceived, or otherwise outsmarted by one of the creatures God has provided for man’s pleasure cannot be condoned” in Indonesian culture, and “what we were saying was that a woman had gotten the better of Sukarno.” The film went as far as production, and stills were made, but for some reason (perhaps common-sense) it was never deployed.
Bizarrely enough, this idea resurfaced shortly before the Second Gulf War, when the CIA suggested that a fake gay porno featuring Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden be produced in order to discredit these men in the eyes of their followers. This went nowhere—at least one official claiming that nobody would care. “Trying to mount such a campaign would show a total misunderstanding of the target. We always mistake our own taboos as universal when, in fact, they are just our taboos.”
Pakistani Vaccine/DNA Collecting Drive
The May 2011 raid that killed Osama Bin Laden was the result of an insane amount of intelligence collecting and planning; regardless of his crimes, conducting a US military operation to kill a foreign national on Pakistani soil was bound to have myriad consequences. A courier had been tracked to an Abbottabad compound, where it was pretty damn certain Bin Laden was hiding. But before conducting the raid, they had to be absolutely sure—and one method of collecting this proof was shady in the extreme.
The CIA recruited a respected Pakistani doctor to organize a fake vaccination drive in the town, and in the process collected thousands of blood samples from children in the area children—among them, as it turned out, Bin Laden’s children. Since theirs was a fairly upscale section of town, the campaign began in a poorer area to make it look more authentic, then moved on to the neighborhood housing the Bin Laden compound a month later—without even following up with the required second or third doses in the poor area. The whole thing worked—with consequences.
For one thing, Dr. Shakil Afridi—the doctor involved—has been convicted of treason by the Pakistani government and given a thirty-three-year prison sentence (“Wouldn’t any country detain people for working for a foreign spy service?” one Iranian official helpfully pointed out). For another, the campaign has caused irreparable damage to organizations that carry out legitimate vaccinations. There are deep-seated suspicions in many Middle Eastern regions about those who provide vaccinations, and this gambit to assist in finding Bin Laden has only bolstered those suspicions—particularly in Nigeria, India and of course Pakistan, where efforts to eradicate polio are ongoing.
Muammar al-Qaddafi
February 2011 saw the beginning of the Libyan Revolution, which would culminate in the August ousting of Libyan dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi, followed by his capture and killing in October. There was little mention at the time of any potential involvement by foreign interests—but about one year later, an incident occurred which shed a curious light on the entire Revolution.
On September 11, 2012, an American diplomatic mission in Benghazi came under attack by armed militants. The response came not from within the mission itself, but from half a dozen CIA agents deployed from a hidden base within the city. More reinforcements arrived from Tripoli, and diplomatic personnel where whisked by convoy to chartered aircraft which carried them out of the country.
This betrayed a CIA presence in the city, which had hitherto been unknown. The Agency was forced to admit that it had maintained a fairly strong presence in Libya since about February 2011—right around the time the Libyan Revolution began. The annex which had housed the secret base was scrubbed clean and abandoned after the incident at the mission.
Operation CHAOS
Protests against US involvement in Vietnam were proving to be a giant pain in the backside for the government’s plans in the mid 1960s. While Mockingbird was busily using the mainstream to try to shove the necessity of the war down the throat of the public, the “counter-culture” couldn’t be controlled so easily. Ever-mindful of the KGB’s propensity for their own style of dirty tricks, the CIA attempted to weed out any foreign influence on the American anti-war movement by launching Operation CHAOS—and they didn’t even bother to come up with an innocuous-sounding code name.
Since the FBI’s COINTELPRO program of domestic surveillance wasn’t quite producing the desired results, President Lyndon B. Johnson authorized the CIA to undertake its own program of spying on US citizens. Their main task was to infiltrate student organizations—both radical and otherwise—in order to gather intelligence on potential foreign influences, and to subvert such groups from within. Famous groups such as “Students For a Democratic Society” and the Black Panthers were targeted; eventually, the program for some reason expanded to include women’s liberation and certain Jewish groups.
There is strong evidence that this type of activity has never ceased, though CHAOS itself was shuttered after the Watergate scandal. In 2011, the Agency came under fire for allegedly working with the New York Police Department to conduct surveillance of Muslim groups in the area, who had not done anything wrong and who are now suing in Federal court.
Phoenix Program
Phoenix was a program headed by the CIA, in conjunction with US Special Forces and Australian and South Vietnamese commandos, during the Vietnam War. Its purpose was simple: assassination. And although this was a military unit, their targets weren’t military, but civilian.
From 1965 to 1972, Phoenix was involved in the kidnapping, torture, and murder of thousands upon thousands of citizens. People deemed critical to the infrastructure of the Viet Cong, or thought to have knowledge of VC activities, were rounded up and taken to regional interrogation centers, were they were subjected to: “rape, gang rape, rape using eels, snakes, or hard objects, and rape followed by murder; electric shock . . . rendered by attaching wires to the genitals or other sensitive parts of the body, like the tongue; the ‘water treatment’; the ‘airplane’ in which the prisoner’s arms were tied behind the back, and the rope looped over a hook on the ceiling, suspending the prisoner in midair, after which he or she was beaten; beatings with rubber hoses and whips; the use of police dogs to maul prisoners…”
Phoenix was the subject of 1971 Congressional hearings on abuse. Former members described it as a “sterile depersonalized murder program”, and it was phased out after negative publicity, though the replacement program F-6 was quietly phased in to take its place.
Operation Ajax
The success of Operation Ajax paved the way for all future CIA operations of a similar nature. It resulted in the return to power of the Shah in 1953, after a military coup planned by American and British intelligence.
The first democratically-elected leader of Iran, Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh, was seen as a potential liability because of his plans to nationalize the oil industry. Fearful of having to compete with the Soviet Union for Iranian oil, the decision was made to install a leader who was partial to US interests. You can probably see a theme developing here.
CIA agents Donald Wilber and Kermit Roosevelt Jr. (the grandson of Theodore Roosevelt) carried out the campaign by bribing everybody who could be bribed in Iran: government officials, business leaders, and even street criminals. These recruits were asked to support the Shah, in various ways, and to oppose Mossadegh.
It worked: an uprising was instigated, Mosaddegh was jailed, and pro-Western Iranian Army General Fazlollah Zahedi was installed in his place. Zahedi had been arrested by the British during World War Two for attempting to establish a Nazi government, and he lived up to that legacy by appointing Bahram Shahrokh—a protege of Joseph Goebbels—as his director of propaganda.
The Mujahideen
In 1978, Afghanistan became mired in civil war as two Communist parties seized control of the country. When it began to look like anti-Communist rebels were gaining a foothold, the Soviet Union invaded the country to lend support. And that’s when the US, of course, decided to get involved.
The CIA set up camps to train the rebels, known as Mujahideen, in the necessary tactics for beating back the Soviets. Advanced weaponry was also part of the deal, including—importantly—Stinger surface-to-air anti-aircraft missiles. Soviet airstrikes had driven hundreds of guerrillas out of the cities and into the surrounding hills, and mitigating the effectiveness of those strikes proved to be essential in prolonging the conflict, placing a great strain on Soviet resources.
The Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan almost until its collapse in the early 1990s, but the legacy of the Mujahideen lives on. The CIA are finding their own tactics and training turned against them by Mujahideen veterans who have begun their own training programs, producing highly trained and skilled terrorists who now make up the backbone of Al-Qaeda and other radical groups. The US discovered these ramifications the hard way after invading Afghanistan in 2001. The invasion led to a quagmire of an occupation, which—as of this writing—has dragged on for just as long as that of the Soviets.

MK Ultra: Inside the CIA's Mind Control Program
Project MK-Ultra was a series of CIA-led experiments on mind control. The experiments began in 1953 and continued into the late 1960s. CIA researchers subjected thousands of U.S. and Canadian citizens to experimental tests, including electric shock therapy, brain surgery, and LSD dosing, in order to identify methods for controlling human behavior.
The CIA hoped that successful methods could be used as interrogation tactics for alleged criminals or prisoners of war. These experiments were conducted without full consent of the participants, and the federal government was sued and brought to trial multiple times over the resulting deaths and injuries.
The most famous MK-Ultra experiments involved LSD, but the program also tested the effectiveness of hypnosis, electroshock therapy, and brain surgeries. Because the CIA later destroyed documents relating to MK-Ultra, most of what we know about the experiments comes from testimonies provided by experiment subjects.
Farrell Kirk, a plaintiff in one of the lawsuits against the CIA, stated that the experiments with LSD caused him to experience extreme depression and drove him to attempt suicide. After his suicide attempts, he was questioned and studied again, then placed into solitary confinement.
James Knight, who had been incarcerated for liquor smuggling, explained that the experiments gave him violent tendencies and severe memory loss. Before the experiments, all of his arrests were for non-violent offenses, but afterwards, he was arrested multiple times for assault.
One particularly famous subject in the MK-Ultra experiments was Whitey Bulger, a Boston crime boss. Bulger alleges that, while incarcerated in an Atlanta penitentiary, he was a subject in experiments related to schizophrenia. Along with eight or nine other inmates, he was dosed with LSD and asked about crimes he may or may not have committed. Bulger described a rise in his own violent tendencies after the LSD experiments, as well as hallucinations and difficulty sleeping.
Ted Kaczynski—better known as "The Unabomber", who killed three and injured 23 with homemade bombs—was a subject of MK-Ultra tests while a student at Harvard University in 1958. Dr. Henry Murray tested his theories of behavioral modification and mind control on dozens of students like Kaczynski by subjecting them to extreme verbal abuse and then monitoring their reactions.
Associated Deaths
At least two deaths are directly associated with the MK-Ultra experiments: those of Frank Olson and Harold Blauer. Olson, bacteriologist for the CIA's Camp Detrick in Maryland, was unwittingly laced with LSD while at a CIA retreat. Due to his increased paranoia, he was sent to New York to be treated by a CIA psychologist. On November 28, 1953, he died after either falling or jumping out of a 13th-floor window.
Olson’s family was initially told of the suicide but not of the experiments. There is speculation that members of the CIA pushed Olson, but the initial cause of death was ruled a suicide, then changed to an accidental death. The Olson family brought a lawsuit against the U.S. government for the experimentation leading to Frank’s death, but they settled out of court.
Harold Blauer was a patient at New York State Psychiatric Institute who voluntarily admitted himself to be treated for depression. While in treatment, he was unknowingly dosed with mescaline derivatives, one of which turned out to be a fatal dose. The institute identified his cause of death as self-inflicted overdose. Blauer's family sued the hospital for neglecting to monitor his medications. After the MK-Ultra program came to light, the family was informed that Blauer’s death was a result of the experimentation.
After the Watergate scandal led to greater overall scrutiny of government processes, the CIA destroyed many documents related to MK-Ultra. By the time of the trials a few years later, there was not much paper evidence of the illegal experimentation.
In 1974, The New York Times published an article about the CIA directing non-consensual mind control experiments. The report led to the creation of the Church Committee to investigate the nation’s intelligence gathering program and hold Senate hearings. Victims of the experiments filed lawsuits against the federal government for human rights violations and neglect.

These are just some of the CIA’s exploits that we know about. Imagine the extent of those that have never been uncovered.
Yet the CIA and its 16 associated intelligence agencies are being relied upon, primarily by the Democratic Party to create the meme that Russia is interfering in multiple ways across the USA, now joined by China and Iran apparently. This is the essence of Russiagate which is being given as the reason Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election to Donald Trump in 2016. And of course the prime tactic in coalescing the anger and focus of U.S. citizens to those “enemies” ‘over there and the usurper Trump who they managed to install as president.
Oh but surely... in light of all related above it must be the most saintly, pure as driven snow, and so very clearly, the epitome of trustworthy sources, no?
BEATING BIDEN
Presuming Biden wins in just over a week’s time and becomes president what can nations in his cross hairs do to protect themselves from him?
How can they go about beating Biden?
In Latin America where Biden will seek to increase pressure on recalcitrant nations not responding to the Monroe Doctrine whip there are positive signs.
The recent win for the socialist MAS party bodes well for a new 'Pink
Tide’ to sweep other U.S. proxy governments from power. If this comes to
pass it will provide a strong bulwark against Biden’s plans. Venezuela,
Cuba and Nicaragua would be largely saved from the attacks upon them
Biden has planned.
A united socialist front across Latin America is all that can save these nations from a continuation of the misery the elites of the USA have caused them for generations. Biden is sworn to continue and heighten that misery.
What of others that Biden has sworn to up the pressure upon?
Russia and China have just recently reaffirmed their commitment to work together to consolidate the bonds of friendship between them. This is the best guarantee of a united front against Biden in their part of the world. China will continue to build its belt and road initiative strengthening its trading opportunities into Europe. Russia will complete the Nordstream 2 to Germany also strengthening its position. These two developments of Russia and China alone are enough to stymie most of Biden’s belligerence toward them.
The USA and UK, the two main enemies of Russia and China will continue to be enmeshed in crisis due to the pandemic, both becoming progressively weaker as China in particular becomes ever stronger. Russia is not looking like emerging from the pandemic soon however and this remains a worry. However, the effects of the pandemic in the prime enemies, North America and the UK are clearly going to be devastating and are likely to at least some degree quarantine the mad dogs of those nations as they seek to bite their imaginary foes. Russia and China must take full advantage of their weakness wherever they can in acts of self-preservation. Nothing criminal of course but all possible actions that strengthen them and weaken their enemies seeking to damage them via a Biden presidency.
What will Biden seek to achieve against nations targeted by his administration?
The reach of Biden’s administration, despite the weakening effect of covid, will remain extensive. He will only have to give one weak note on his state dog whistle for all the puppy dogs of U.S. neocon allies to come running to join their master. He has signaled how he will unite this cabal of master and servants in an unbreakable bond to create a weapon with which to attack their target of nations not aligned with them. NATO and the U.S. military will receive additional resources, a combined and coordinated propaganda campaign against ‘the enemies of freedom’ will be mounted across all political leaders and heads of state and their compliant mass media, diplomatic cadres will reinforce the messages broadcast via their paid informants, activists and array of the criminal, greed-driven and disaffected within all target nations in a push to undermine those targets seeking to achieve chaos, disruption and ultimately regime change.
Those target nations will hopefully be readying themselves now for the inevitable overt and covert assaults on them that will ensue upon Biden taking office.
Iran, another target, may get off somewhat more likely than others, or so it seems. Biden has said he would seek to renew the nuclear deal that Trump reneged upon. However, he has specified that Iran must meet certain new conditions for this to happen and I suspect these will be quite impossible for Iran to comply with without weakening herself to further attacks by being made to withdraw elements of her strength in the region. Hence I suspect there will be a standoff on these points and Iran must maintain its hardline stance against any weakening of her position.
On North Korea Biden is unlikely to make any headway despite fervently wishing to. The DPRK is virtually immune to U.S. threats through its military strength and ability to strike at Seoul at will should there be any military threat to it. Biden cannot afford to bate the leadership there further than a certain point though bate it he certainly will. But mostly it will only amount to a little symbolic breast-beating in a rather pathetic attempt to seem strong to his puppy dogs looking on.
Conclusion:
All in all we are likely to see a hyper-aggressive Biden administration on the foreign policy front, a rottweiler without teeth however, due to covid and the strengthening of his target nations’ position. That strengthening will bode well for the ultimate quarantining of the malignant force that has been the western empire for so long now, though that quarantining will remain some decade away still I estimate.
But it’s looking good. There are many strong possibilities for building on the advantages the decimation of western economies covid has brought about to date and will continue to bring about in future. Due to this factor and all others above the beating of Biden is very much on the cards.
In the words of an earlier U.S. elite devil clothed in a designer suit... “Bring it on!”

THE LEFT, TRUMP AND BIDEN
It is impossible for anyone on the left to like Trump.
He panders to the extreme right, he kisses Israel’s ass, he’s a belligerent ogre who is friends with Saudi murderers.
The only thing he has going for him is that he is not a warmonger and Joe Biden is.
Trump from the initial debates with Hillary Clinton made it clear he was going after Iran, China and illegal immigrants. He never wavers regarding his base.
No matter who they are individually, no matter how racist, fascistic or xenophobic they may be, Trump will not be made to criticize his base. We on the left of course find this far beyond the acceptable into the realms of the disgusting and utter loathsome. Naturally we despise all racists, fascists and xenophobes.
Due to our loathing (and some may even feel hatred) for 99% of what Trump stands for, if we are American citizens, we may be tempted to vote for Biden. I believe this would be a huge mistake. A huge mistake because Biden is clearly in the Clinton-DNC warmonger camp, fully signed on to the neocon agenda of the past and its hugely aggressive U.S. foreign policy.
Those of us on the left who are solely concerned with internal U.S. issues may feel that these are more important than U.S. foreign policy, that the nation needs healing, a greater emphasis on unity and an urgent need to move away from the confrontations of the Trump years.
But consider this. The left has risen in prominence during those years. The movement toward socialism has thrived in this time of turbulence when minds have become supremely focused in opposition to Trump and all he stands for.
How would the left fare under a Biden presidency? I would suggest that it would be sidelined just as it was sidelined under Obama. I would further suggest that the established elite of the Democratic party would assist wherever possible in that decline. And finally, without this clear enemy of the left, the denigrator of socialism in the White House how effective would the fighting spirit of the left be? Of course we would criticize the Dems, we would do our best to warn of the dangers inherent in a belligerent foreign policy where democracy had been abandoned in favor of demands and threats of punishment. But how effective do you think we would be in gathering support while the liberal backbone of the Democratic elite shore up their party and president at every available moment.
But the crucial issue I keep coming back to is the sentiment shown by Biden that he is up for a fight with any nation that doesn’t accept U.S. dominance and that he will only increase the murderous pressure we have already seen applied to Venezuela. You could expect Cuba, Nicaragua and yes, Bolivia to be on the receiving end of his neocon proclivities also. This along with Biden’s ‘hang ‘em high law and order agenda that has been a staple of his for decades would create a liberal movement toward totalitarianism I believe. Those speaking out would be silenced or at least every effort would be made to silence them by a liberal establishment determined to break all progressives and leftists for good and all. We might gain a little ground if this became too obvious... but they would tend to be subtle about our silencing using mainstream media as their most powerful tool.
All I’m saying is, vote Biden at your peril. You have heard him speak on the Crime Bill and you know he was enthusiastic about the illegal attack upon and invasion of Iraq. He has said he may well give more money to build up the U.S. military. You have heard him speak in aggressive terms against Russia and that there will be no change in U.S. policy toward Venezuela. And he is unequivocally for fracking.
Apart from Trump being anti-war, which is something of a misnomer as he is not a peace freak, he simply sees nothing in more unwinnable wars where there is no reflected glory in them for him to bask in, there is one more lesser point:
His aim is to promote policies for the working class as they constitute the most powerful section of his base along with some of the lower-paid middle class. Not that he’s a socialist, far from it! His interests lie in business and just maybe making America more prosperous. But it’s difficult to take the man at his word. The truth means little to him most of the time.
But think about all this if you would, and perhaps consider voting for the Greens or an Indie candidate rather than either of the two thugs on offer.
And lastly...
Be careful what you wish for all you American folks out there.
THE HYBRID OPTION
The concept of full employment through capitalism was always little more than a barely concealed lie.
Full communism is a nice idea in which everyone owns everything and shares the benefit, but you need perfect people for that.
Capitalism was always destined to see wealth rise to the top through continual pressure to keep costs down and profits up. The biggest costs by far to any business is its staffing costs, its labor. There have been capitalists who saw the benefits accruing through keeping their workers happy by providing a decent wage and other benefits, but they were few and far between.
On the subject of capitalism with a social conscience I recommend an hour’s research at least on each of the men below and their achievements in this respect:
Tomas Bata, Zlin, Czechoslovakia
David Dale, New Lanark, Scotland
George Cadbury, Bournville, England
These three men showed how you could make decent profits from good products while at the same time providing a decent life and income for your workforce.
On the whole though capitalism has not provided the engine for universal well being claimed for it by those who advocate its use independent of all other economic systems such as socialism.
However, the achievements of modern capitalism have been substantial in areas such as the provision of affordable devices that make life in the home far easier than was previously the case. This was especially true in the period around the time of the First and Second World Wars.
In addition to the above capitalism has steadily increased mobility, access to information and a plethora of reasonably efficient products and services. Capitalism has clearly produced increased wealth for an increasing number of people, particularly in relatively modern societies.
But I’d argue that the number of people provided a decent living through gainful work in a fully capitalist system will never approach 100%, and never even come close. Full employment is a pipe dream and this is increasingly obvious. The world will struggle to maintain present employment levels in the face of a rising world population and increase in use of artificial intelligence.
A report published this week by the World Economic Forum estimates that 87 million jobs will be lost forever during the next five years alone. It estimated that 97 million jobs “may emerge” to more than replace them. I do wonder where they found the optimism for the latter statement.
Capitalism without a universal basic income to provide a bedrock
foundation for life is going to fail us. Resistance to the idea of a
basic income for everyone (given to both those in work and those
without) is clear. Though the idea has come of age in recent years and
is talked about much more than when I considered it a vital solution
some 25 years ago (which was not at all) it will have a tough time
becoming reality.
In the meantime I would urge moving from the capitalist system we have now (and the hyper-capitalist system of the USA) to much more of a balanced mix of strictly regulated ethical capitalism and democratic socialism.
I have seen how in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos with socialist governments in charge have resisted the temptation to move from the family business model toward large corporations. If you travel through these countries you cannot help but notice how the basis of employment is oriented toward family businesses. The fact that Buddhism plays a large part in these societies also contributes to the feeling that there is greater stability, continuity and general well being there, albeit at a lower standard of consumer discretionary income, than in the West.
In China too where I have now traveled twice you can see the results of decade upon decade of central planning whereby millions have been lifted from poverty year by year.
‘The dramatic progress in reducing poverty over the past three decades in China is well known. According to the World Bank, more than 850 million Chinese people have been lifted out of extreme poverty; China's poverty rate fell from 88 percent in 1981 to 0.7 percent in 2015.’ (Wikipedia)
In my view, left to its own devices the capitalist system as it is generally understood now, will fail ever more dramatically in terms of:
Failure to provide jobs which have conditions allowing a satisfactory life to be lived (in the view of those employed).
Inability to provide an environment where reasonably contented citizens work together through cooperative and stable relationships with one another.
Fueling highly artificial and increasingly stressful and atomized societies where dissent rises inexorably producing violent blowback.
I see no chance of the kind of societies I believe people in their heart of hearts wish for, societies where cooperation is key and human to human interaction to better conditions is a natural part of everyday life. The exigencies of the modern workplace create stresses which obviate these possibilities in terms of time. Inclination is to focus the time you have on family matters or isolated pleasures. Not all problems associated with extreme individualism and isolation would be solved by moving to a hybrid economic system... there would also have to be a concurrent shift in emphasis from having to being and this would have to be embraced at every level from the topmost political elites to those on street level.
Striving always for more thinking “happiness” lies in the next purchase or the one after that, or the next pay rise, job offer or house sale is, I would say, an exercise in futility. The greatest joy in life, in my opinion, comes in interaction with others and the pursuit of positive goals together in an atmosphere totally outwith any financial considerations.
The Soviet Union was an attempt to resolve the questions surrounding wealth and poverty, elitism and penury, the haves and the have-nots, the 'Us and Them’ society that has plagued humankind since societies were first formed. Its failures were many and ultimately it collapsed out of internal contradictions and the weight of interminable pressure from a capitalist world that despised all it stood for.
We should not try to recreate the Soviet Union in the form it ultimately became nor even the way it was in its most ideal state in the early days of great national enthusiasm. Nationalization of everything from industries to farmlands did not effect the goals that this universal panacea system was designed for. Though there are a great many aspects of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact that were indeed wonderful, hugely inspiring and successful ultimately their evolution was truncated through all the means, internal and external alluded to above.
A hybrid economic and political system would look something like this in my view:
A universal basic income would be provided to every adult individual irrespective of whether they were in employment or not.
Capitalist enterprises would be funded by a single state bank.
Capitalist enterprises would have to prove they are ethical through completely open accounting systems or be shut down temporarily for investigation.
There would be no speculators, only fully responsible company owners/directors and investors.
All utilities that provide essential services such as water, electricity, gas, healthcare, public transport and education would be in the hands of the state, never in private hands.
A ‘Be-All-You-Can-Be’ ethos would permeate all levels of government. This emphasis, away from requiring ever more economic growth, would gradually bring about a solid-state sustainable environment where being, not having was the constant motivating factor.
Emphasis would be placed on consuming less and living more. Low maintenance lifestyles would be advocated at all levels releasing citizens from the stresses of always earning more and buying more without limit in the hope of achieving “happiness”.
Emphasis would be placed on sharing resources across communities and of interactive help without reference to financial gain.
Emphasis would be placed on using the resources we have, never wasting them, always repairing, rarely renewing and recycling to the maximum.
Media would have a greater emphasis on education while retaining a high entertainment content. Violence would be reduced while the human body celebrated in an atmosphere devoid of prudery but also free of pornography.
Corruption of all kinds would be mercilessly dealt with in the knowledge that it by itself could destroy all the benefits found in a society built on cooperation and trust in others’ integrity.
A global vision of worldwide community would be fostered including all species and the preservation of the environments needed for the preservation of natural modes of life and culture.
A sharing of cultures worldwide devoid of prejudice, racism or xenophobia in the expectancy and promotion as a high priority of a universal basic income planet-wide.
This I recommend to you in a spirit of hope as the option open to us going forward as all other doors to the future we wish to see begin to close.
