NUCLEAR NONCHALANCE

Are you aware of the fact that you are living in the most dangerous time humanity has ever known?

If so, you will be as constantly shocked as I am that there appears to be little concern over the fact.

I am 70. I lived through much of the Cold War. Thankfully (I suppose) I was only 12 at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis so I didn’t feel the fear that was present worldwide at that time. I was also completely unaware of the protests against nuclear weapons that were being made.

The Cuban Missile Crises is extremely well portrayed in Oliver Stone’s film ‘JFK’. In the film we see how John and Robert Kennedy had to stave off the relentless wish of the military high command to attack and invade Cuba. Eventually an agreement was made with the then Russian president, Khrushchev that the missiles the U.S. had placed in Turkey would be removed and Russia would do likewise in Turkey. Khrushchev agreed to the stipulation from the American side that the removal of the U.S. missiles in Turkey would be delayed six months and no publicity would like their removal from the Cuban situation.

Communication between the USA and Russia was maintained to varying degrees during the Cold War. There was propaganda from both sides bolstering their positions both at home and abroad. Both nations attempted to increase their stature through aid and infrastructure projects in non-aligned nations. A stalemate was arrived at eventually and the world remained in a relatively stable multipolar state. On the nuclear issue it was generally agreed that it was vital to ensure the ultimate catastrophe of their use be avoided. This was the agreement upon the informal term, M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction).

The importance of communication between adversaries is well known. This is why we normally have diplomatic relationships, to iron out disagreements using seasoned professionals who seek compromises to thorny issues which if left to fester can build toward a highly destructive atmosphere inviting war. This is also why we have the United Nations, a forum created to assuage the violent responses that were a feature of the past and which resulted in two catastrophic world wars in living memory. As Winston Churchill put it, it is far better to “Jaw-Jaw” than “War-War”.

But this is the very area where all of us are now at huge risk. In recent years there has been little to no diplomacy from one side within a long-running period of major discord. Name-calling and constant accusations are present where sincere arbitration once predominated. Of course there was also much rhetoric employed during the Cold War but I would suggest it did not have the same venom as seen in recent years.

The venom has come from one side only during this period and I would like to explain the reasons I believe this change from discussing points of disagreement to finger-pointing and relentless accusations.

As with so much of what has happened since, the genesis was 9/11.

9/11 fixed in impermeable position certain protocols that initiated a host of policies necessitating the end of all compromise, including diplomacy to achieve goals that were never to be amended never mind countermanded.

America had to dominate the world completely or its security would be incomplete.

This is the beginning and end of why we are where we are now.

And this is why this time for humanity is the most dangerous ever lived through.

This goal is do or die. It is conceived at the highest levels of the United States as the highest priority of all, far outweighing all others. It is existential in nature and all that is done in its name is sanctioned, no matter the consequences. No tactic is beyond the pale. No moral or ethical issues are to intrude as barriers to the attainment of this goal.

And crucially, diplomacy is only a hindrance to the achievement of this goal as no compromise should stand in its way. Agreement is impossible. Only submission to American dominance is acceptable. Diplomacy could only delay this submission and time is of the essence.

China has become the primary reason for the present surge and pressing need on behalf of American elites to achieve their goal. China presents the greatest challenge to the global dominance required. That dominance is over-arching across land, sea, space and telecomunications, it bridges all connections between nations and requires the monitoring, surveillance and ability to discipline errant activities. The goal is for holistic control: Full Spectrum Dominance.

9/11 demands it. U.S. elites are fully committed to achieving it.

This is why tactical nuclear strikes against adversaries by the USA is now seriously contemplated by its elites.

The goal of full spectrum dominance is non-negotiable you see, all or nothing, no compromise, no backing down, agreement to submit... or Armageddon.

This is why humanity is now more at risk that it was at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The stakes are so much higher now that they cannot be adequately quantified. And they will remain so as the situation is completely incapable of change short of China and her allies continuing to rise to reduce them significantly.

Most recently you will have seen the reaction to Trump calling for better relations with Russia. This reaction was the direct result of all I speak of above. His unknowing approach mitigated directly against the post-9/11 protocols, policies and goal. By advocating diplomacy in essence he was committing one of the most deadly sins post 9/11, to compromise the safety of the United States, for anything that did not forward the goal of gaining full submission and compliance with the primary post 9/11 goal was seen as an act of treason. Russiagate was the solution and it has largely been effective. No meaningful progress has been made regarding relations with Russia apart from purely cosmetic exercises.

Once Trump is gone I predict a speedy return to an even more Ice Cold War than even that which we have seen during his presidency, one that was already being waged by Obama and Clinton.

I predict that the USA and those nations allied to it, primarily the United Kingdom, will create a final and permanent division in the world enforced and protected by a beefed-up NATO that will see an unrelenting barrage of attacks upon Russia, China and nations broadly aligned with them.

And I predict also we will hear a leak or two concerning secret meetings discussing the use of tactical nuclear weapons as a ‘final solution’ to a worsening situation for the West whereby it falls ever more into debt and destitution as China rises from the ashes of the Covid-19 pandemic. The post 9/11 goal will be under increasing threat of failure as never before.

And remember, the post 9/11 goal of global U.S. domination CANNOT be countermanded.

Remember also that ALL is allowed. NOTHING is counted out.... including the use of nuclear weapons.

Once this is recognized (if ever in an age of infinite modern distractions) then continued nuclear nonchalance becomes either impossible, or increasingly likely, fatal.
