THE BIDEN ‘UNITE THE WORLD’ UPDATE

I first posted the text at the foot of this update on the 25th of November 2020 and promised to report back as and when there were developments initiated by U.S. president Joe Biden regarding U.S. foreign policy in respect of a tweet he posted the day before.

In the past few days Biden has made his first major announcement in this context.

In a virtual address to the Munich Security Conference he did exactly as I predicted he would and called for an airtight alliance between the USA and European Union states against both Russia and China. This is exactly the policy I predicted below in my post of the 25th of November.

While talking of unity Biden is promoting a permanent division and the continuation and worsening of what I call an 'Ice Cold War' differentiated from the war with the Soviet Union in that no dialogue or true diplomacy will take place, only demands.

 

Biden wishes to unite the USA and Europe... but AGAINST Russia and China, and without doubt against their allies too. Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela et al.

In a textual version of a Freudian slip the official White House text of Biden's address quotes Biden as using 'division' instead of 'vision' (see below).

'You know, I hope our fellow democracies are going to join us in this vital work.  Our partnerships have endured and grown through the years because they are rooted in the richness of our shared democratic values.  They’re not transactional.  They’re not extractive.  They’re built on a vision of a future where every voice matters, where the rights of all are protected and the rule of law is upheld. 

None of this has fully succeeded in this — none of us has fully succeeded in this division [vision].  We continue to work toward it.  And in so many places, including in Europe and the United States, democratic progress is under assault.'

 It is clear to me that Biden has no wish to create a better relationship with Russia and China or their allies. His desire is clearly to form a solid block with Europe and any others with the U.S. orbit as a weapon with which to weaken and undermine them.

Biden will attempt to undermine China's 'Belt and Road' initiative and Russia's 'NordStream 2' pipeline as an integral part of his policy of creating a united front against Russia and China. He will bolster NATO and refrain from any criticism of it as it builds its forces ever closer to Russia's border.

As I predicted there will be no global unification attempt as desperately required at this time of greatest threat for humanity. Future pandemics, quite possibly worse than the present one will certainly require the global unity clearly absent from the present patchy responses. Human-caused climate change presents an imminent threat, an even greater threat than any pandemic and this threat above all others surely demands global unity to ameliorate its effects.

Biden's tweet of November last year therefore rings very hollow now. It represented a deception, not a delivery of hope for the future. Instead of unity Biden advocates division, instead of a desire for change and reconciliation he advocates more of the same previous antagonism and aggression. And quite clearly he advocates more war, a continued reliance on regime change by whatever means the so-called 'Free World' perceives as necessary.

Biden's tweet below offered the hope that the past irresponsibility and highly aggressive stance of the USA might be ameliorated, softened and a potential for agreements between the USA, Europe and the rising nations of China and Russia be begun. However, his speech to the Munich conference shows just how vain that hope was and totally confirmed my predictions below.

On Tuesday November 24th 2020 at 11:30 a.m. Joe Biden, president elect, posted the following on Twitter:

“Let’s begin the work to heal and unite America and the world.”

I intend to update this text with intermittent updates on the question of to what degree Joe Biden seeks to unite the world or otherwise. I will update whenever I spot items pro and contra this stated goal.

Currently the prospects do not look very good as he clearly intends to install persons who have previously expressed hawkish sentiments regarding nations that have in the past been described as ‘adversaries’ or even ‘enemies’.

It is clear he will wish to unite the people of America, his hopes for the election of yet another Democratic Party president in 2024 to a significant degree depend on this.

And it is clear he wishes to unite all America’s allies to the maximum degree possible.

But it is much, much less clear that he wishes to unite the world. In my estimation his policies so far... as far as I have been able to identify them will divide the world as never before in what I have been referring to as an, ‘Ice Cold War’, distinguished from the ‘Cold War’ in that there will be no dialogue, no discussion, no detente, only a series of demands from the USA.

So, I am skeptical of this tweet of his, it seems to me to run contrary to all else I see occurring in his previous statements regarding Russia and China for instance and the likely policy on Venezuela to name but three nations in question.

I wonder to what degree the sentiment expressed in Biden’s tweet is genuine, and to what degree an attempted deception based on a meaningless bit of ‘feel good’ rhetoric/propaganda.

The proof of the pudding as always, is in the eating... one way or the other.

Will he reach out to China, Russia, Iran, Syria, Venezuela and others in his stated goal to unite the world?

I will post an update to this text as and when I detect any movement that forwards or detracts from this clearly laudable goal as stated below and whether it can be taken at face value or, as I suspect, it cannot.
