THE SAINT WITH BLOODY HANDS

The new Biden administration is telling the world that “America is back”, the faultless cavalry is assembled, ready to come over the hill, the saintly patron that will put all to right, the righteous avenger without sin ready and willing to smite all the world’s evil dragons.

In this saintly pose of total perfection where someone pretends to personify all that is good, all else is rendered inferior and suspect, potential enemies to be opposed by threats and fought until defeated.

Those not bowing before your holy perfection are named your implacable adversaries.

Your blood-splattered slate is wiped clean as you stand before the world with a shining halo, sword in hand.

The images of preemptive strikes, drone assassinations, extradition, black sites and torture, the deaths of civilians revealed by Wikileaks, the lies told, the dirty tricks played, the use of terrorists as proxies, the human rights porn manipulated, the demonization cards played... all wiped away in a reset to a self-asserted saintliness.

An Orwellian image of purity is broadcast through an instantly obeisant mass media suddenly bereft of its characteristic cynicism with both hands upraised in supplication and praise for the resurrected messiah.

Each elite across the western world bows to the familiar image of saintliness presented to it, all memory washed clean of having been here so many times before.

America the Great, the supreme leader of the western world, the paramount epitome of selfless intent, the generous provider of justice, freedom and democracy for all.

All past sins forgiven the elites of the West add their armor to that of the shining figure wielding the sword before them. Ready once more to plunge into battle with this construct of holiness before them.

They welcome the chance to hit out at those they have demonized most fervently within their own brains to be the most evil of monsters that present a threat to all they know and love. They emphasize without question their sub-human motivations and vile acts against the holiest of holies, intent and crimes that cannot possibly be tolerated and which must at all costs be wiped from the Earth and replaced by their saintliness.

The stage is set. The facade is in place. The audience is primed. The actors are well rehearsed and ready to perform. The villain has been well cast.

Now the hero emerges from the curtain in shining white.

The saint with the bloody hands is here to save us... again.
