The signs of chaos and disintegration are everywhere to be seen in western nations now. Its citizens find a growing despair within them as rogues and fools rule them from afar as designer criminals rake in the proceeds from countless elite schemes.
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
(From The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats)
In Britain a fool by the name of Johnson makes up his own rules to aggrandize himself at the expense of the British taxpayer.
In France over 1,200 French generals, officers, service members and police personnel sign an open letter to the French government of the growing threat of civil war.
In North America a geriatric thug takes the place of a serial lying sociopath then forlornly calls for unity as two armies prepare for battle.
The European Union devises a scheme doomed to failure to pay illegal immigrants to go home to nations devastated by the West’s wars.
In Italy the Covid dead lie in their coffins for up to a year awaiting burial as the tents they occupy fill to capacity and beyond.
Britain stares economic collapse in the face as it recognizes the completely haphazard and inadequate responses of its leaders to the Covid crisis and its exit from the EU.
America awaits its own catastrophic descent from an already desperate and debt-laden existence to further middle and lower class penury while its elites profit enormously.
France cannot escape the protests to come as the Yellow Jackets return to the streets joined by myriad others who demand change from Macron’s disastrous presidency.
The West is coming apart at the seams while liberals continue to insist on woke nonsense which aggravates situations crying out for common sense. Those of us who were rebellious youths recognize the kind of views held by those who want total freedom without responsibilities. It was a great dream, but in retrospect what a lazy and self-entitled one it truly was. For I was one of those who wished the center not to hold and for an anarchy of alternative experiences to flood the world. But I am a lot older and I hope somewhat wiser now.
Of course we must have compassion. We must do all we can to help those in need. I am an advocate of a universal basic income for all to create a foundation for every single individual across our planet. It seems to me this should be our primary goal. Yet it receives no mention, only a few trial national experiments of which nothing comes. Let us help all people by all means.
But the way of the West where total freedom without responsibility and casting aside all traditional values and mores is not the way forward to a planet where we can live in unity with decent values expressed one to another.
The baby is being thrown out with the bathwater as the saying goes.
Isn’t it clear that disorder cannot lead to orderly progress? The path ahead for the West is shrouded in a fog of confusion where thousands of different interests claim precedence and overarching this melee of idiocy and chaos are elites reaping ever-growing benefits sucked up from the dysfunction below.
I bucked against tradition and traditional ways of thinking when I was a teenager in the Sixties. I negated what my traditional parents had gone through in the Second World War thinking them less than me in mentality, I who was so free. I see now how wrong I was and feel ashamed to have thought that way. I see just how reckless and stupid I was to take powerful illegal drugs. And much else besides.
There is no decent way forward with the kind of anarchy of freedom some want in the West. If anyone is in any doubt about this I advise a trip to the USA when it becomes possible once again. There you will see where total freedom without responsibility and the catastrophic decline in traditional lives gets you. Those I would have laughed about back then and called ‘straights’ who retain a certain conservative dignity, integrity and traditional values, I respect now when I find them. They have a seriousness to them that the hedonist can never approach. Not that they have to wear traditional clothes, jacket, shirt and tie or close-cropped haircuts, it’s not about appearance. It’s about what’s inside.
In the West in recent years we have seen a willful disintegration of values, not their preservation. When warmongering western politicians responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths talk of the merits of ‘western liberal values’ my lip begins to curl. Where are these values pray tell? When did mass murder and lies to initiate mass murder become western liberal values?
The anchors of decency that have previously held western societies together in the past and faced down the Nazi horde against all odds, the upstanding men and women of honor who are regularly mocked by woke idiots, the bedrock of a truly caring society rather than one that mouths the right humanitarian phrases at all the right moments... these men and women are fading from our sight and dying. And who will replace them in the West?
Howling hedonists demanding their “rights”? Conspiracy theorist lunatics pointing to every fantastic idiocy their deranged mentalities bring to their paranoid attention? City types who think only in terms of cold calculation and personal reward? The selfish, the self-interested, the egotistically rabid, sharp-elbowed social climbers and pseudo celebrities?
If these are those who the West hopes to take them forward to a bright new liberal tomorrow then Heaven help them.
There is no sign that a u-turn is possible, never mind wished for.
The West is simply spinning ever downward, out of control, convinced its future lies in bringing down the last few nations still maintaining values of stability. Those value which have survived all that has gone before and continue to create the possibility of a world capable of moving forward.

THE WEST IS SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL
CREATING THE SILENCE OF KILLING FIELDS IN THE WEST’S VACUUM FLASK WARS
I looked for any source of information I could find when I became aware of the unrest in Ukraine during the winter of 2013 and continued observing into the Spring of 2014 and beyond. I wanted to understand what the underlying reasons were for what was going on.
I have described elsewhere all I was able to glean from various sources concerning the violent upheaval witnessed in Kiev in another commentary.
Here I would like to focus on what subsequently took place in eastern Ukraine and place it in the context of the West’s other wars.
After the president fell in Kiev, along with the government and the USA’s chosen representatives took power (as known from the leaked telephone discussion between the Assistant Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland and then U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt) I turned my attention to eastern Ukraine.
The reaction there of their chosen president and government (legally elected) being overthrown caused a shockwave through the pro-Russian majority there. They knew well what was coming. Hadn’t they seen the coded signs of favorable views concerning Hitler and the Nazis? They knew well that they were seen as evil Russians by many in the West, called ‘Moskals’, a dirty word for those in the west of the country denoting those who inclined toward their neighbors, not toward the EU and the western world. They had seen the torch lit processions in Lviv and Kiev. They had heard the chants of fascistic mobs marching there shouting “Russians on knives!!” They knew well what was in store for them, for their language and for all the cultural associations with Russia that they held deep in their hearts.
And those who hated them had begun to arrive in their towns and cities, bused in from western Ukraine. Street battles had begun to destroy their peaceful streets and the harmony that had previously existed between those with pro-Russian feelings and those from other regions of Ukraine who had settled there who had not. It was clear that those who wished to preserve their way of life and all it meant to them could not simply await their fate. They began to take control of their own destiny and the administrative offices of their own cities.
It was during this time that you might have heard the voices of such people. Then and only then. For their voices would never be heard again right up to the present day.
I was lucky to find two micro-documentary films the BBC had made through sending separate teams to eastern Ukraine just before the violence began there. In those two short films the people of the region, in one the miners and in the other a shopkeeper and ordinary street folk were heard. I would ask you to spare just a few moments to listen to them. In doing so you will recognize that you have been lied to when told that what happened in eastern Ukraine was about “Russian aggression” there. The people will tell you what the reality is if you let them. A story they have been silenced from telling ever since.
The first video is two minutes long and features the miners of eastern Ukraine.
This video was published by the BBC on the 10th of April 2014.
Title: ‘Ukraine crisis: Coal miners' thoughts on future’:
https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-26972708
The second video is six minutes twenty four seconds long and features a shop on the border with Russia and the views of townsfolk within the small town of Milove in which it is located.
This video was published by the BBC on the 14th of March 2014.
Title: ‘The shop on the Ukraine-Russia border’:
https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-26572569
These would be the last time the BBC would allow the voices of those in eastern Ukraine who had pro-Russian or anti-EU, anti-West sentiments to express.
I observed events in eastern Ukraine intently for a further four years and no such videos were ever seen again. More than that, horrendous atrocities perpetrated by the Ukrainian army and their associated fascistic militias would be totally ignored and would never be referred to on western mainstream media or by any western politician.
The West had created another killing field within another of its vacuum flask wars where those framed as its enemies died in silence.
We have seen this time and time again in our lifetimes. In particular we saw it in Syria where the West fought a proxy war using terrorists and terrorist-supporting activists such as the White Helmets in its war to topple the president and government there. Once again the chosen enemies of the West were to die in an enforced silence, demonized and consistently slandered without any recourse to a reply, framed as evil sub-humans incapable of even the tiniest degree of human decency... set up as modern day Hitlers and Nazis so they could be destroyed without a second thought.
Look back at all the wars of the West in recent years. Whether that is Syria or Libya or anywhere else where western elites control the narrative in order to wage war. Even when those narratives are later found to be composed of half-truths and downright lies the same silencing policy against critics, criticisms and counter narratives to their continues unabated.
It is sadistic in the extreme and loathsomely hypocritical when you consider that even the most unapologetic and obvious criminal in the West is given a trial and an opportunity to speak if he or she decides to do so. The West’s targets get afforded no such authority, indeed every possible means is used to silence them and those who feel that fairness demands they speak for them. To add insult to injury (to put it mildly) western mainstream media news, the one entity supposedly devoted to providing all sides of any issue maintains the same killing field silence engaged in by their state elites.
This is where the ugliness, the sheer callous inhumanity of the West reaches a peak of sadistic intent that ought to be abhorrent to every decent human being on the planet.
A complete vacuum of information is created on one side while the West with all its powers to communicate and annihilate gags and murders those it designates, frames and demonizes as suitable cases for extermination.
Yes. You have it. You have now made the connection. You have come across the very policy once before. I need hardly point it out, need I?
This is our western world though... with elites we are told wish to spread freedom, democracy and liberal western values worldwide.
Demonizing, gagging its victims and engaging in mass murder.
CREATING THE SILENCE OF KILLING FIELDS IN THE WEST’S VACUUM FLASK WARS
DEMOCRACY IS DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY FOR NATIONS TARGETED FOR REGIME CHANGE
It is said that when Che Guevara first met Fidel Castro they had a conversation lasting a great many hours. It went on far into the night. This was long before they liberated the people of Cuba from the corrupt Batista regime favored by America.
One of the subjects in this meeting of minds was democracy. Che had recently lived in a South American nation in which the president had decided to make democratic reforms. He wished to teach Fidel a salutary lesson concerning this. Far from bringing the benefits the president had hoped for these reforms instead brought his demise. The United States was quick to seize on the opportunity to arrange candidates for the positions made available and finance them to a degree others could not compete with. In time a coup was easily arranged and the president removed from office, replaced by someone more amenable to U.S. interests.
Che’s message to Fidel then was this, whatever political system you decide on once the goal of freeing Cuba from America’s grip has been accomplished, you must never contemplate democracy as its system of governance as this will only lead to its being taken over once again by its far larger neighbor.
This is the true reason western elites promote democracy as one of their key “idealistic” tenets. It provides a pathway to power for them. But it is far from the only danger of democracy in a world where hyper-aggressive capitalism seeks endless markets to infiltrate, permeate and turn traditional cultures into mirror images of those in the West and in particular to those of the USA.
It has become the standard view that communism was an evil system of oppression, abuse of human rights, denial of freedoms and most of all denial if purported inalienable democratic rights. But is this view truly correct and unquestionably accurate? Due to a multi-decade campaign of completely one-sided series of narratives about the so-called communist system of eastern Europe and the Soviet Union this has been left as the indelible impression in most minds. What then might the other side of the story be?
First of all in these lands the word used to describe their systems of governance was socialism, not communism. Communism was to come at a later, far more advanced stage. Socialism is what they prized, and with good reason.
The other side of the story then, is this:
After centuries of a small aristocratic elite being in power across Europe where a finite number of families ruled almost every aspect of the lives of their essentially slave populations a new idea formed in several minds. What if, instead of virtually everyone working for the benefit of these few, held that way as their property, the people were freed to work communally for themselves and share the bounty of their lands equitably among themselves? Were not those who slaved to produce the wealth of their nations more entitled to share it than those who had merely inherited it from their earliest ancestors who had essentially stolen the resources to generate that wealth?
This was of course a revolutionary concept. And as we all know it succeeded in its goal to wrest wealth and power from the few and began to distribute it to the people as a whole though maintaining throughout that it was for no one person to say they had any exclusive rights of perpetual ownership. The project to ensure the entire population rose as one and was no longer kept disadvantaged and held down began. The workers who created the wealth were now to share it among themselves without any of them demanding ownership of the means of producing that wealth. That was to be held communally, their common heritage and birthright free from the elites who had previously held them in servitude.
What need was there for democracy where the ultimate goal had been agreed? There was no counter argument to that of freedom from slavery for all those who had been in bondage along with access to a commonly held wealth generated by their very own labor. What need was there for any point of view which would deny this historic return of liberty and communal access to improved life chances long denied the vast majority of the population?
Democracy, views in conflict regarding systems of governance and policies of social justice and economic progress were completely unnecessary. The road ahead was clear. And everyone would take it together to improve life for each one of them, not as before only for the few.
The ethos above was idealistic and bold, founded on compassion for all and backed by a resolve to banish all previous and insidious slavery of the many by the aristocratic, intellectual or political few. Naturally there were inconsistencies, tragedies, inequities, outrages and oppressive tendencies during the following years. Not everyone was persuaded to be as idealistic as required, others could not contain their own personal ambitions, and sociopaths, present in every society determined as ever to gain power over others. It was a rocky road... but it was founded on an extremely idealistic principle, that we will work together for the common good and we will all rise as one, together.
The system of the West works much as the system erased in these eastern lands worked, the few still rule over the vast majority and a tiny elite have almost all the wealth and do all they can to retain it. If you are lucky by way of birth having been born into privilege, or you have or can develop a particularly needed or admired skill you can have access to what can be called 'the good life’. If not, then you must make do in life, accepting that you are dependent on one of those who have gained access to power and wealth accepting you as one of their workers. You are there at their whim. You can be made redundant at any time if the wealth generated from your labor is found to be no longer adequate and no longer meeting the requirements of the elites above you. If you are unlucky in this way you may have to take some lesser and more humbling position just to make ends meet as the society is set up to always favor the elites of your society rather than those they employ. Once in a time you will be asked to vote to keep one of generally two dictatorial powers in power in order for them to generate the rules you must then live by.
The elites of the western world were completely antithetical to the concept of those below them (as they saw it) taking power. Therefore the revolution which took place in Russia was seen as the greatest threat to their power and wealth imaginable. And so, in time, came the Cold War. In the West it was imbued with all the most noble motivations, to free the people held in bondage in the east, to bring them the inestimable benefits of capitalism and, most importantly of all, democracy. In the East they saw much more clearly what the true ambitions of the western elites were, to reimpose control by those elites over their populations and essentially reinstall the system of total manipulation and ownership by those elites of the vast majority... the system that they had after many long centuries through enormous sacrifice, ended.
Every means possible was used by the western elites to infiltrate and subvert the socialist systems of these target states, to interfere whenever and wherever possible, to undermine, slander, subvert, deceive and destroy. Vast wealth was expended to hire and train specialists in intelligence and psychological operations, more was used to corrupt and criminalize those amenable to becoming the disaffected and dissidents in order to sow chaos at every level achievable within all target nations. Eventually the numbers of those working to crush the most idealistic experiment in providing a decent life for all ever seen grew to hundreds of thousands worldwide. Every moment of their day was spent seeking the means to demonize or destroy elements within these societies and using every possible means at their disposal backed by unlimited funds to do so.
Eventually, due partly to the consistently enormous pressures applied from both outside by the intelligence agencies and within by the disaffected, self-interested, artistically or intellectually inhibited and by the downright criminal, the socialist systems of eastern Europe and the Soviet Union collapsed, exhausted and undermined from both without and within.
Access to these nations due to their proximity to those wishing to subvert and undermine them was crucial. This is why Russia is vulnerable to their attack today also. Especially so as under Yeltsin and Putin a great many democratic reforms have been made.
You will have kept in mind Che’s admonishment to Fidel I presume?
Russia is a prime target for regime change due to this vulnerability. Putin has not been speaking as a western asset is expected to. It was thought at first that he could be molded to be a sober version of Yeltsin. He was treated as this all the way from the year 2000 when first elected Russian president to February of 2007 when an address at a Munich Security Conference disabused them of this idea. Since then democracy itself has been used as a weapon against Russia by western elites determined to have their way, the same historic way all elites have behaved since time immemorial.
China is the ultimate target however. But China presents western elites with a far greater problem. The almost complete lack of their gateway to subversion, democracy. (There are several small political parties in China believe it or not, however they act as consultative and advisory bodies to the communist party, not as rivals.) China is largely immune to most of the usual tactics of western elites therefore. The lack of democracy keeps her safe. This along with a dedication to improve the lot of all Chinese, not a privileged elite, that is enacted and seen to be enacted in good faith by the Chinese people themselves.
China has no need for the endless destructive disputes among elites that democracy brings with it, no need for the endless warring of egos and ambitions, the belittling struggle for power between men and women responding to and funded by similar but corporate elites and hardly motivated at all by the needs of their people.
China will preserve the most vital elements of the cultural heritage of their native land.
Many countries infected by the West and its hyper-capitalist elitism will see their traditional cultures eroded and replaced by the shallower and easier to manipulate cultures of the West where elite needs are met and those of their populations shaped to suit.
These last dangers of democracy are being experienced now by those ex Warsaw Pact nations who are now encountering the various elite corruptions and erosion of tradition that come from the gaining of the “freedoms” and “democratic rights” resulting from the ending of their previous system. A system that promised an admittedly longer journey toward 'the good life’ while attempting to supply all basic needs along the way.
Faith was needed and a certain dedication to reach the ultimate goal of full communism on a journey where the whole population would travel together, all rising as one.
Democracy could only ever be a distraction, and in fact a fatal danger, to this most idealistic of all goals.

HOW CAN IT BE THAT THE WORLD IS NOT YET SICK OF WAR?
There can be few people alive now that have not at some time seen the inevitable results of war. Some few of us will have had a very direct experience, most some only through documentary films or images on some other form of media.
The vast majority of us have no control over whether there continue to be wars or not, only a tiny proportion of us do. An incredibly small proportion of the human population decide these things.
This tiny proportion cannot possibly have been sheltered from each and every gruesome image that the rest of us have been exposed to, can they? That seems unlikely to the level of being ludicrous as a suggestion. They know what it looks like. Knowing the horror that war brings with it how on earth can they contemplate letting it happen over and over again?
Surely they are not all sociopaths or psychopaths. Or are they? If they are then we truly are in very serious trouble as a species. Don’t you think so?
Assuming however that they are not raving madmen and women without scruple, conscience, compassion or trace of integrity... why are wars still occurring, why are families grieving, children being raised without their fathers or mothers, nations devastated, regions fractured and blind hatred being tolerated as normal?
Have we not outgrown such behavior yet? Has our common knowledge of the horrors of two world wars and many others since not reached the point where we are revolted as an entire species and rise up to say “No more!” ?
It seems not. Many of us appear reduced to an apathetic acceptance based on feelings of powerlessness to do anything about it.
Of course the leaders of western nations will doubtless say that powerlessness comes from living in totalitarian states where there is no democracy. But those waging most major wars were those very leaders and the people did rise up at least once to say “No! Don’t do it!” but were totally ignored by the then leaders of the so-called “Free World”, George W. Bush and Anthony Blair. Where did the powerlessness lie at that time? In the so-called democratic West. Meanwhile of course those leaders or their successors, point to those who aligned with millions in western nations saying “No! Don’t do it!”, Russia and China saying they are the super aggressive danger to the world. Give me a break!
War is still very much with us.
After decimating Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya and assisting in the virtual annihilation of Yemen taking it back to the Stone Age... the western world is now waging hybrid warfare against those two nations who most prominently stood resolutely against war against the nations above, Russia and China. You could be forgiven for thinking the world has gone quite mad.
This is in fact World War Three, the final world war. It is not being fought using traditional methods of warfare. That doesn’t stop people dying though. It is estimated that Venezuela, ally of both Russia and China has lost an estimated forty thousand of its population due to the financial restrictions and sanctions laid upon it by a western world so full of its humanitarian “values”. Iran will have lost many thousands also due to the same reasons. Going back to Iraq, even before the attack and invasion which cost hundreds of thousands their lives, there were the pre-war sanctions that lasted years. The estimate is that up to half a million children died unnecessarily during that time as a result of the draconian sanctions regime.
Despite all we have seen of war and despite existing in a western world where all is meant to be sanitized and safe and all consciences honed to be ultra-caring, compassionate and desiring of human rights for all and repression of none... we live under governments that engage in war as one of the earliest options available. Look at the timeline.
Afghanistan - Iraq - Syria - Libya - Yemen.
Do you consider there was much consideration given to other ways to achieve betterment of peoples’ lives in general than this quick succession of wars leading to mass death, misery and destruction? It looks like very little thought went into the process. It verges on the words of some I saw who believed in the mentality they saw in their god of choice, that of Old Testament, “Kill ‘em all... let God sort ‘em out!” That this sort of mentality still exists after all humanity has been through in the last two or three generations should make you shudder.
Just below the surface of some of us is a killer instinct. Under the surface patina of respectability and designer suits of others is a cynical and deeply callous disregard for the consequences of their actions.
Where geopolitical ambitions based on nationalistic self-interest overwhelms all compassion you have war. war of one kind or another.
And that is the main reason why the world (or at least that miniscule percentage composed of our elites who generate them) is still not yet sick of war.
THE GREATEST CONSPIRACY THEORY OF ALL TIME... YET IT ISN’T REALLY A CONSPIRACY AT ALL
I am not a believer in conspiracies... at least not on a global scale.
I do see that many apparently intelligent people are and I worry that they are being distracted from issues that are bad enough in and of themselves without adding others that appear to me to be the result of sloppy thinking and quite unaccountable mania.
I have always favored the organic development of issues, crises, behaviors and any number of events that result in some form of harm, disaster or catastrophe.
I do not believe in Bond villains or even in groups of Bond-villain type individuals.
It goes without saying that there are plenty of misguided people who get things wrong and there are others who do wrong quite willfully and justify it. There are certainly sociopaths and psychopaths aplenty (according to the estimate I have seen they compose around 1% of the human population). Together these groups cause a very high percentage of the destructive stuff that foes on in our world, of this I have no doubt. Especially the latter group of psychos who have no conscience, no morality, no respect for honesty and no allegiances to any religion or any group for that matter, except when it’s expedient. They are solely self-interested loners.
If you are looking for evil conspirators you can count the psychos out of the equation as they will not truly work together on anything. Look at Trump is you want an example psycho. They are black holes seeking only incoming goodies of whatever it is they crave, wealth, power, praise, women... you name it.
That leaves fallible humans. Plus those whose integrity has been long compromised.
Common criminals can be counted in this latter group, along with the bulk of politicians, so-called journalists, national security analysts and public relations managers. This category continues the vast majority of those who have climbed a greasy pole to attain some level of power.
Such people see exactly where their best chances lie and by instinct graduate to that place without even a single thought about right, wrong or otherwise. they just go for it. Yes, it’s completely cynical but they would laugh in your face if you tried to make them feel ashamed about that. To them that’s just the way it is. They would tell you to go right ahead and be a goody two-shoes, be honest, be open and refuse everything that makes your conscience blush. More fool you they’d say. They see the main chance... and go for it.
In recent times that main chance has been Russia-bashing.
As Glenn Greenwald has recently pointed out, each and every so-called journalist or observer that added some element of Russia-bashing to their output, even when it was totally disproven, went on to higher and better things. You simply cannot lose by finding Russia behind almost anything and everything with negative consequences that you can think of. It is a totally winning bet each and every time.
Follow the money works here as it does in most cases.
Of course that’s not to say this whole enterprise doesn’t get a little help from a plethora of western intelligence agencies and in particular the CIA, it certainly does!
This is what has occurred as I see it, and if it is a conspiracy as I infer by my title above, then it is a conspiracy to make money... and one that doesn’t need any meetings behind closed doors by people wearing black hoods or masks. The agenda is right out in the open... or, if you are a little slow on the uptake, it just needs a short visit to the editor’s office or a chat with any other journo over at the water cooler.
It’s the greatest conspiracy theory of all time... yet it isn’t really a conspiracy at all.
WHY CAN’T AMERICA SIMPLY LEAVE THE REST OF THE WORLD ALONE?
No one authorized the USA to govern the world. It does it simply because it can.
It can because no other nation or group of nations has the will or the ability to stop it.
As usual you must follow the money... but also in this case, the tracks of a powerful aggressor.
The USA has taken the rights that every aggressor nation down through history has, the rights that come with power, to dominate, regulate and punish those that it has conquered or who are weaker.
It does this because it can, not because any democratic process has accorded it this right.
A nation whose elites laud the concepts of legality, justice and democracy doesn’t this sound a rather odd and discordant note?
Take the attitude of successive U.S. political elites to the United Nations. Tolerated will ill will at best and seen as a nuisance and barrier to their plans at worst. When there was a rabid desire by both the USA and UK to attack, invade and occupy Iraq they needed to circumvent the UN. Russia, China and France had all stated explicitly that they were not in agreement and that such acts would create many more negative effects than they would end. And so it has been seen. But the two main actors desiring war made sure they got their way. They had the NSA bug every UN office of nations doubtful of giving support. Ultimately, by one doubtful method or another they got their way and we all know with what catastrophic results for the region.
There can be no doubt that the elites of the USA want the world under their control. This has been the case for numerous reasons since the end of the Second World War but since 9/11 it has become an imperative goal for them. It is not possible for them to colonize the entire planet in order to control it of course. This is not the intent. Then how do they indent it? The answer to this question will also provide the answer to the question in the title of this commentary: ‘Why Can’t America Leave The World Alone?’
First, what would happen if America DID leave the world alone? This question provides a secondary answer to our main one. Because Israel would be left to its own devices. Also, vital interests (as seen by U.S. elites) would be at risk.
For many reasons, including the financial and political power of Jewish elites in the USA, the eternal protection of Israel is seen as a sacrosanct and almost holy duty, almost without limit in terms of blood and treasure. These days this is measured in treasure though plenty of American blood has been spent in the past.
Then there are those vital interests. In recent decades the primary vital interest was of course maintaining the constant flow of enough oil, vital to their economy and thence their continued power. These interests are not only in terms resources however, they cover a great many areas of influence and since 9/11 these areas of interests are considered even more vital than before.
One of their most important areas of interest apart from Israel is of course Europe. Britain and Europe are linked to the USA by both historical and political ties. They consider themselves as an inextricably linked group founded on the same values. Chief of these values is a consideration that they are more civilized than anywhere outside their sphere of influence. They consider themselves exceptional in every area that counts for anything as seen through their eyes. That this is a completely self-interested and incestuous point of view and inherently racist in its outlook apparently does not occur to them. They assert they occupy the highest position of all across the all fields of civilized morality, human rights integrity and compassionate selflessness.
Yet... it has been these very nations that created a matrix of lies about others that they used to justify fracturing the entire Middle East and bringing about the deaths of hundreds of thousands.
That they skipped past this fact very quickly and indeed hardly halted for a second before pointing fingers at other candidates for regime change should deeply trouble anyone reading this.
The elites of the USA are not interfering in every other nation worldwide in the hope of assisting them to gain freedom, democracy and access to western liberal values as they say. This is the cover story that was a no-brainer to decide upon at the start and continues to be used to this day. The motivations are as above, to protect their allies and to maintain access to resources they have come (as profligate users of them) to depend upon, and to constantly prop up and increase their influence.
In addition to these reasons to maintain their “engagement” with the world (as they see it) there is an overarching intent and goal which was perhaps always there, but which received rocket boosters after 9/11, to be in a position to have complete oversight and manipulable control over all aspects of life on Earth, this to ensure U.S. security in perpetuity.
These are the many reasons why America simply can’t leave the rest of the world alone.
THE USA: A FAILING STATE CAUGHT WITHIN A VICIOUS CIRCLE OF ITS OWN DEVISING
The presentation of the USA as the most perfect society with the most perfect systems of all kinds, far above and beyond that of any other nation, has always been a public relations pitch.
The reaction of many Americans to this statement will be a strong denial that it is mere public relations, that it is true, evidenced by the continuing numbers wishing to reach their shores and cross their borders.
While it is true that many see the opportunity for lowly jobs in the USA as at least providing them a basic living unavailable in their own countries nearby this is only evidence of desperation, nothing more.
In regard to others who have attained skills required in the USA what is found is that they go to work for corporations and institutions that cater primarily to the rich and super rich and extremely rarely for the vast majority of Americans.
The experience of the average, not so wealthy American is of declining life chances, stagnant wages that cannot keep up with rising prices, of infrastructure that is ageing fast, of exorbitant health care and child care costs, the scarcity of a good, affordable education, of the unaffordability of local housing for newly weds, of a gig job market, of a nation where the super-rich contribute less in taxes than teachers, doctors and nurses... a nation in short that is reaching the end stages of terminal redundancy as a system of benefit for all.
The USA is a nation with an out-of-date ethos of hyper-individuality where you must do it yourself and expect no help, an anti-community region of greed-driven humanity where, like a chain-letter Ponzi scheme hitting the last end dregs of the scam. Most of the money has been sucked upward. And those sitting up there are determined to ensure it stays there. They produce nothing new in terms of products or services of benefit to the majority of U.S. citizens. Most of their time seems to be spent avoiding tax through some scheme or other or speculating via financial products that simply churn their money round for profit.
The systems of the future where true equity will be found along with true humanity and community will avoid functioning within any such end game system such as that winding down now in North America. There is no future in the cold, dull world of aggressive acquisition and hoarding to the detriment of all outsiders to the personal gene pool, no future in the totally self-interested use and abuse of state support systems to gain advantage over others and generate profit that is then guarded and in no way brings any social benefit for others.
If you observe carefully you will see a wider negativity to the entire ethos on which the USA is built which is reinforced daily from its elites. To claim superiority over all others then allows the judgement of others as of lesser validity. It allows war, regime change war, it allows the justification of the subversion of others, of the right to destabilize others’ systems bringing chaos in the name of some claimed and very much self-awarded superiority.
Look at which systems have been explicitly targeted in recent years. Most of them have been in the Middle East and have been largely secular nations with an ethos where socialist principles have been applied. Free education and health care among many other benefits. Most were adherents of Baath Party principles. Iraq, Syria, and Libya for instance. Take a look sometime at the benefits distributed by Libyan authorities before the country was fractured into warring factions and brought to a point where a new slave trade emerged. You will be surprised by how much an apparently “evil” president provided for his people.
In my view the Cold War as well as every other war the U.S. fought had nothing whatsoever to do with creating a better life for the people of the nations it fought wars against. It was to make them susceptible to their system, a parallel, mirror image of their system or as close to it as possible, and therefore able to be exploited by their system.
It brought down the most idealistic system ever seen on the planet, the socialist system of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations. It did this step by step all the while proclaiming on the best of intentions. Again, these were the usual and terminally cynical public relations statements designed only to conceal the true intent.
The system that brought such calumny upon the world is now itself observably failing.
And yet the leaders of that corrupt, corrupting and failing system fight on, now primarily against China, the main target. China where, despite all the slanderous disinformation, the vast majority of wealth raised is returned directly to the Chinese people in terms of social benefits bringing ever greater life chances.
The elites of the USA are like a composite junkie that thinks the very next fix will bring back the same initial euphoria felt when the habit first began. It won’t. It will bring only the death of the addict.
It is up to the rest of us to ensure that the power-junkie that is the USA does not bring the rest of us down with it. For the USA is a failing state caught within a vicious circle of its own devising.

WAS THE COLD WAR WHAT YOU THOUGHT IT WAS, OR MORE OF WHAT WE’VE SEEN SINCE?
Just think about it for a while. I would ask only that you give it some insightful consideration.
Havn’t we heard the same kind of justifications for interference amounting to regime change recently as was heard then?
What was heard then was couched in terms of concern for human rights, freedom and democracy. I am of the conviction that all such justifications for interference by the West were a pretense and the actual motivation was the same as now, to take control, to win markets and destroy competition.
Which was the evil party in all this? Nations with an ethos of peace, sharing all resources equitably among all citizens or an aggressively acquisitive grouping where individualism and elitism was the abiding ethos?
In that time there were so-called liberal heroes that the West pointed to as exemplars of a freedom of thought to come just as they talk of Alexei Navalny now. In that time there was Vaclav Havel and Andrei Sakharov. They were leveraged to the hilt along with every discontented, selfishly ambitious, artistically inhibited or criminal individuals who saw bringing down the system as their most positive task in life.
Every moment of every day for year after year the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations were subjected to attacks of every possible kind on a spectrum of issue where it was thought fissures could be created or scarce finances could be expended uselessly.
Compare the factors above to how western elites approach the undermining of regime change targets now.
There are many further comparisons that could be made but think about how those charged with safeguarding their nation and protecting the idealistic purpose behind their systems which were so relentlessly attacked. Attacked constantly not only from outside their borders but within. Think about your state of mind as such an official. What to do about those assisting outside forces to bring down the entire structure of your state.
Billions were spent uselessly on weaponry and armies due to knowing pressure from the West, money that could have been spent adding to the many facilities such as decent housing, schools, hospitals and much else that would enhance life for citizens in the greatest experiment to give everyone a decent life ever attempted.
Those working for western elites knew very well what they were doing in this regard just as they knew across every other destabilizing operation they were running. Just as the Russian Federation is attacked from myriad directions across a spectrum of areas so the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations were also.
As I alluded to earlier the goals were numerous across a great many targets. Tens of thousands of operatives across the western world and its allies worked night and day to increase chaos and dissatisfaction in target nations, to sow confusion and fear, to limit the resources spent on increasing quality of life and spreading a completely one sided-picture of how life was within those target nations.
As we have seen in recent times, no media time or column inches were given to telling the story of those in target nations, not those in eastern Ukraine, not those trying to hang on in secular Syria against the West’s proxy forces, not a word about Putin that isn’t an accusation and so on. As Margaret Thatcher gagged the representatives of Sinn Féin in the Eighties so a blanket media gag has been placed upon all leaders and groups within nations targeted by the West for regime change.
There was plenty that was very positive within the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations but during the Cold War and still right up to the present day it is frowned upon to mention them.
Even now after you have seen clearly what the West has been capable of in recent years you may doubt the veracity of my words. The conditioning has been all-pervasive with almost no counter narratives available for public view to provide more nuanced insight. The demons must be made demonic indeed. Socialism must be called communism and communism must be made as scary and loathsome as possible.
Socialism, providing for everyone not just the few was the ideal being sought in the Soviet Union and across the Warsaw Pact. Communism was to come later. As seen from a western perspective this was anathema of course. Individualism and the right of the individual to exploit others was and is a sacrosanct principle. Though flawed from the effect of numerous factors, not least the actions of the western elites to create discord and useless expenditure this remained the idealistic goal underpinning the entire project.
Anyone doubting the motivation of the socialist authorities in these countries ought to visit a few of them and witness the schools, hospitals, homes, cultural houses, polyclinics, recreational facilities and parkland they created for their people. Yes, life was more spartan there than in the West and yes, there was restriction on travel and speech but ask yourself... what would you not do to protect your nation from internal and external threats when you were building a new world?
These were not societies predicated upon selfish greed and individualism, though of course they had those who excelled more than others and were, despite the myths, rewarded proportionately. The goal was that they would match and even exceed the West in time while keeping their own national customs and culture and taking everyone with them to that world. The abiding motif was the dove of peace as so many had suffered and died through war in recent times. The goal was to all move forward as one.
Those who attempted this noble enterprise, one that will likely never be seen again, could not simply sit on their hands and allow these corrosive acts of those who felt entitled to have more for themselves at the expense of the many. This was simply not an option. And this brought abuses for no society is free of sociopaths and those who carry their duties to far or who forget the core principles involved in creating a truly just society.
But each and every example of such over-reaction and overbearing response was seized upon and exploited to the full by those whose job is the manufacture of opinion then just as they do now, a mainstream media fully onboard with the demonization project insisted upon by western elites.
Just as we see the demonization of all who doubt the narratives of western states now so it was then. Those who saw the benefits of the socialist project were vilified and risked jailing. An entire red scare was manufactured in the USA with Joe McCarthy at its head in this effort. Just as those who speak in nuanced ways now concerning the regime change campaigns of the West are attacked as ‘Russian Agents’, ‘Assad Apologists’, or ‘Putin’s Puppets’, even academic scholars such as Stephen F. Cohen or politicians such as Tulsi Gabbard whose credentials are impeccable.
The true evil in this world does not come from those the West attacks but the West itself. Through constant interference amounting to continual acts of war against other nations the elites of the West demonstrate nothing approaching idealism as they claim is their abiding influence. They are driven purely by acquisitive ambition and the urge to dominate all those who do not obey their command.
So it was during the Cold War and so it is now.
THE INHERENT RACISM OF HOLIER-THAN-THOU GEOPOLITICS
How many days pass without the USA, UK or one of their allies pronouncing that some nation ‘over there’ is guilty of something terrible? Not many I’m pretty sure you'll agree.
The USA in particular obviously sees its role as the saintly arbiter of good and bad, right and wrong, the self-appointed, self-righteous, judge of all others.
It itself is of course beyond reproach, an exceptionally moral, ethical and trustworthy source that would never harm a fly in its own interest.
The USA in particular obviously sees its role as the saintly arbiter of good and bad, right and wrong, the self-appointed and self-righteous judge of all others and completely beyond reproach.
It itself is of course unquestionably good, an exceptionally moral, ethical and trustworthy source that would never harm a fly in its own interest.
It is only those ‘bad actors’ over there in foreign lands who have some genetic, systemic or otherwise vile proclivity to be bad, to do bad and to boot, never mending their ways. The West is depicted as pure and untainted by self-interest... (this despite volumes of historical data to the contrary of course).
Where does this gross myopia to the extent of almost total blindness stem from? Are they for real? Or, is it in fact the case that they know well how iniquitous they have been in the past... but like any good public relations manager they know exactly how to create the image they need to carry on as they are.
In any case, shouldn’t more people in the West be pointing the inherently racist attitude western elites are exhibiting. Not to say terminally hypocritical.
After all, it was not Russia or China that recently attacked and invaded one Middle Eastern nation after another in recent years causing hundreds of thousands of lives? It wasn’t Russia or China that told all those lies and used their media to channel them to their people in order to justify their acts of mass slaughter? But the boot must always stay on the same foot. The boot that kicks down doors in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. But shhhhhh... don’t breathe a word of criticism. All these acts of terror are fully justified. Why? Because of all those ‘bad actors’ out there, those sub-humans who don’t know how to behave, who are a threat to all of us decent folks ‘over here’.
Imagine if Russia or China had done 1% of what the western allies have done in the name of the ‘International Community’ vial the ‘Coalition of the Willing’. You would have never heard the last of it. But Russia and China opposed all these wars that Bush, Blair and those who came after instigated. But it is THEY who are the problem? Yeah, right.
There is such a disconnect going on that it quite boggles the mind and puts you in mind of what Goebbels said once, that you should blame those you wish to target of your own crimes. And of course repeat the accusations endlessly.
If you reverse the claims made by western elites about other nations it is a fairly reliable guide as to what those elites are doing themselves. That the mass murderers of the West have the gall to point at Russia and China is beyond incredible and goes into the absolute stratosphere of hypocrisy. Those pointing bloody fingers at others are communicating an extremely sick joke to their populations. What is sicker still is that a sizeable percentage of western populations appear to believe they are hearing some approximation of truth from their elites. This says about as much as you need to know about the mental state of the average westerner.
To picture this in tableau form is easy. To the left we have the angelic choir of western politicians and pundits. They intone holy words of condemnation with long bony arms and fingers outstretched pointing at a host of drooling red demons who leer and drool, snarling in an outrageous parody of evil.
I exaggerate somewhat of course. But this is the essential tableau westerners are asked to accept. We are those imbued with utmost nobility. We are the pure of thought, heart and intent. Those ‘over there’, those foreign beasts, are beyond the pale, evil soulless demons who will never act well as they are genetically programmed to be malignant and must be taught the error of their ways by us using amoral, unethical, devious and violent means if necessary. All fully justified by our unquestionable purity and their utter, remorseless iniquity.
Do you get the picture?
It’s a well known and understood circumstance.
It’s a type of carefully justified racism and self-interested warfare where atrocities and lies simply become a normal part of the armory wielded by the “good” against the “bad”.
And western populations in general cheer it all on as guided by their fully committed mainstream media.
It’s The Inherent Racism of Holier than Thou Geopolitics.
LIVING ZOMBIES OF THE WESTERN WORLD
The western mind rejects the thought that the elites above them and the society they live in are creating evil. The conditioning to disallow these thoughts has been all-pervasive.
I am not talking of propaganda here, at least not the sort of propaganda we normally recognize as such. It is much more subtle than that.
It exists as much in what is not said than what is. It exists in every matter-of-fact news broadcast where no mention is made of anything that could remotely be labeled as an evil act by western elites. It exists in the humdrum, the usual as much as it does in the mythology of western heroism, defense of human rights and opposition to the dire acts of untrustworthy foreigners who are ‘not like us’.
Gone are the days when bright flickers of conscience arrived via television sets in the West. Figures such as John Pilger had their place in the mainstream. Programs such as ‘Panorama’ in the UK and others, displayed the sordid underbelly of the West and acts of its elites.
There was The Guardian newspaper which until a few years ago also pointed out the iniquities of western elites.
Not that everyone tuned in to their TVs for a blast of these realities, nor read The Guardian for that either. Most no doubt avoided both like the plague. It isn’t everyone’s 'cup of tea’ to be confronted by disturbing facts which they feel they can do little to nothing about. Though these were the Seventies morphing into the Eighties and activism was reasonably healthy. Where is it now?
My contention is that even the most ardent activists pointing out what western elites are doing have a propensity through the interminable conditioning which has gone on throughout our lives to not fully grasp the enormity of the situation. That we live in an essentially evil, deeply irresponsible society, reckless in its selfish desires, ever greedy for more that gives lip service to idealistic impulses while engaging in mass murder and a war against those nations who don’t obey us when asked.
Of course we all hopefully know the risk involved in getting so worked up about it all that we end up neglecting to see to our needs to maintain some light-heartedness and so damage our lives and those closest to us. Yet if we don’t point out the things we do, who will? Most of us take the risk of being seen as strange, boring doommongers simply because we have that type of conscience and consciousness that won’t allow us to ignore these things.
But how hard it is to wish with all our hearts to do something about those issues we have perceived as crucial to us all living lives as decent human beings by pointing out what our elites are doing, only to be treated as wet blankets and social pariahs out of the swing of things.
We don’t enthusiastically engage with the modern forms of ‘bread and circuses’ offered us. We feel disengaged from the materialism and shallow celebrity culture with its Reality TV, gameshows, cooking competitions and travelogues. We long to live in a western world where there is at least some confrontation of the fact that our elites are not the saintly guardians of all decent values they pretend to be.
In a shallow culture where even the long lasting and deeply ingrained relationship with socialism of the UK has all but disappeared, betrayed by those who occupy the business-friendly middle ground of politics and abandoned by those who found themselves to have moved up to a comfortable middle class.
But I diverge. The topic here was meant to be the decade upon decade long conditioning to make all and sundry develop an ‘I’m Alright Jack’ mentality where issues of elite right and wrong are not even considered any more. It’s all essentially about a majority of semi-mindless pigs addicted to the trough of uncaring and willing sheep to the abattoir of forgetfulness.
Oh yes, every once in a while when a regime change target of importance has been identified and a need for a certain public acceptance of violence is required western emotional buttons will be pressed relentlessly to acquire the requisite consent. Children under threat from heartless foreign monsters, women forced into being sterilized, involuntary labor demanded, WMDs threatening from afar, a monstrous, journalist-murdering dictator, chemical weapons use on civilians, schools and hospitals being purposely bombed and so on and so forth. Then western populations are roused temporarily from their torpor and we hear the well-rehearsed refrain: “Something must be done!” Music to the ears of those who played out this familiar tune with its predictable echo from the West’s living zombies.
It’s as predictable as clockwork and where are the mainstream voices who take responsibility by telling people to beware a stimulus-response? They are the information “scientists” who are purveying these “treats” for their Pavlovian dogs, aren’t they? The voices of warning, such as that of John Pilger and many others online are as a whisper by comparison.
We swim within a propaganda soup that is so normal and unrecognizable to most that the word propaganda doesn’t fit it... it’s all-pervasive conditioning, it’s inexorable and lies in every calm nuance that insists western societies are perfectly normal, caring and vitally interests in the rights of all you foreigners out there... as we slaughter you in your hundreds of thousands and poison your societies.
Western populations are busy ‘getting it on’ and are too busy for much else. The elites run the show and surely they are ‘doing the right thing’? We get exorcised only when we might suffer a little from not getting all we want. We moan about politicians and politics yet don’t want much involvement, especially if it interferes with our family life or ‘having a good time’. We will react on cue when our elites point out some foreign iniquity then subside back into our semi-contented slumbers when we’ve done our bit and asked our murderous elites to ‘do something about it’.
Then there are the foreign “enemies” of recent times. The demonized ogres who are relentlessly plotting our demise and of all the values we know and love, those who are interfering with us. Heaven forfend! How dare they!? This emotion is relentless prodded on a cyclical basis while pointing ‘over there’ where the demons are, inferring of course that we are absolute angels by comparison.
Go to sleep America. Go to sleep Britain. “We’ve got this.”
And they, over there, of course get the pain desired by those endlessly covering their own filthy asses from inspection.
It’s a neat trick if you can manage it. And the western elites manage it very well.
Especially since most western populations are composed of living zombies, wrapped perpetually in cocoons of endless conditioning that sap most real life and responsibility for others from them.

WHAT *REALLY* HAPPENED ON MAIDAN?
(In the text below I summarize the events on Maidan Square, Kiev from 23 November - 20 February 2014. It concludes with two videos which totally contradict the narrative favored by the post-Maidan leadership and all western elites regarding the final event which ended Maidan, the murder of some 80 persons by sniper fire from Hotel Ukraine.)
It was mid-February. The chaos was reaching its peak in the square.
Before very long the chestnut trees would blossom, the children would have their spring break and the Ukrainian people would look forward to warmer weather and the summer ahead.
The capital had already been in total turmoil since late November of the previous year and everyone was concentrating totally on the here and now. History was in the making.
But who were those making it?
The president and government (legally and democratically elected according to electoral observers) had been negotiating since the preceding November with EU representatives on an ‘Association Agreement’ which had the potential to lead to much needed funds being provided to Ukraine.
There were difficulties in reaching an agreement including major problems to do with the support of Ukrainian agriculture. Russia had reportedly offered to provide Ukraine with $5 billion, a reduction in the price of Russian natural gas and the creation of a free trade zone.
Rumors, speculations and unfounded accusations about talks continued non-stop as the Ukrainian authorities continued to repeat the intention to draw closer to the EU if agreement could be reached.
But nothing would stop the mayhem, November ended with Maidan in endless turmoil and by mid-December a pitched battle was in progress between the two sides which ranged across the square.
On one side police, mostly young men, armed with a shield and a baton.
On the other thousands of young men also, armed with a vast range of improvised weapons. Clubs of many kinds, one or two hand guns and a number of hunting rifles, Molotov Cocktails, sprays, chains and bricks.
Much in evidence were signs, symbols and coded references of support to a Nazi heritage that still infests a violent minority in western Ukraine till today. The swastika is a common sight daubed on many walls at this time and continues to be a feature along with the favored signs and logos reminiscent of Nazi emblems forming the official uniforms and literature of militant groups.
As December worse on there was a daily pitched battle in a continuous war against the Ukrainian state and specifically against the president and government. It was a war coordinated to some degree by the U.S. embassy where training had been given to those now active on Maidan. Violence had been used by both the security services and the rioters and this escalated into ever more vicious and unforgiving encounters, especially among the rioters who appeared ready to kill any member of the police they could get their hands on.
Mistakes were made on each side as one side then the other attempted to gain an advantage. At the core of the issue however was the mistrust with which the rioters held the president and government and an unwillingness to let the democratic process take its course. The Ukrainian state was under siege and those on Maidan appeared ready to burn everything to the ground and commit whatever acts of violence were necessary to get their way.
Activists who have broken into government offices are removed using overbearing force being beaten and kicked by the special forces used to remove them. In early December a statue of Lenin was toppled and set upon by the mob until broken into pieces. The national flag of Ukraine and the red and black flag of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army replaced it.
The scene on Maidan:
A rain of fire bursts on the helmets of a group of police from a hail of Molotov Cocktails. A bulldozer with a mob behind it approaches a line of police shields. One hapless officer is chased, bricks flying, trips and hits his head on the cobbles and lies unconscious while the mob surrounds him beating him with whatever weapon comes to hand. A group of police cower, arms before their eyes, as a rioter sprays them with a toxic material from a can. A government building is broken into and burned down. Rioters are photographed with hand guns and rifles.
Barack Obama calls for the Ukrainian authorities in Kiev to respect and not harm the “peaceful protestors”.
There is a request from the security services to be issued weapons. It is denied. Their shields and batons will have to suffice and in this way keep casualties to a minimum.
The noise on the square is unbelievably loud with interminable thuds, cracks, glass smashing, shouts and screams rend the air. Every possible object that can be has been transformed into a weapon with which to attack the police.
One day follows the other with the violence on Maidan showing no sign of abating but instead intensifying.
The ‘Association Agreement’ with the EU is being increasingly seen by the president and government as being quite detrimental to Ukraine in certain aspects, especially when compared with the various offers of assistance from Russia. However, negotiations with EU representatives go on to try to come to an agreement on a comprehensive deal that is best for both sides.
Meanwhile several senior U.S. officials arrive in Kiev including U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, Senator John McCain and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt. McCain stands on a public stage along with members of the political opposition and offers encouragement to the crowd gathered to hear speeches there. Pyatt and Nuland famously wander on Maidan distributing items from bags of food they have brought. Some time later a phone conversation is leaked between the two where they discuss who should take power when Yanukovich is gone and the government falls. It is during this conversation that Nuland infamously says... “And fuck the EU”.
From CBS News on 11 December 2013:
‘Top U.S. official visits protesters in Kiev as Obama admin. ups pressure on Ukraine president Yanukovich’
‘Nuland’s highly symbolic appearance in the square came a day after Secretary of State John Kerry issued a strong statement, expressing the United States' "disgust with the decision of Ukrainian authorities to meet the peaceful protest ... with riot police, bulldozers, and batons, rather than with respect for democratic rights and human dignity."
"This response is neither acceptable nor does it befit a democracy," said Kerry, urging authorities to show "utmost restraint" and protect human life. "As church bells ring tonight amidst the smoke in the streets of Kyiv, the United States stands with the people of Ukraine. They deserve better."
The protesters, who see Yanukovych as being too close to the Kremlin in Moscow, took to the streets two weeks ago over his decision to pull out of an association agreement with the European Union, which would have established a free-trade zone and bolstered political and other ties between the former Soviet republic and the European bloc.’
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-victoria-nuland-wades-into-ukraine-turmoil-over-yanukovich/
Yanukovich has a reported six meetings with the president of Russia over the period of the disturbances seeking the best deal for Ukraine. In mid-December the Prime Minister attempts to find common ground with the EU representatives and requests €20 billion from the European Union "to provide conditions to minimize losses for the Ukrainian economy" in connection with signing the Association Agreement. Talks between President Yanukovych and the EU's Catherine Ashton and US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland continue, hoping to find agreement.
‘On 18 December Prime Minister Mykola Azarov stated that without the deal with Russia "bankruptcy and social collapse would have awaited Ukraine". He also added that there was no way Ukraine could have signed the EU Association Agreement as Ukraine would have had to accept unfeasibly stringent IMF conditions for economic reform.’ (Wikipedia)
‘On 19 December President Viktor Yanukovych stated "We have decided to pause [on the Association Agreement] to work out on what kind of conditions should be in place for us to sign the Free Trade Zone Agreement [a part of the Association Agreement]. And this answer should be found by the government. There isn't any contradiction about Ukraine's course on the [EU] integration issue. Generally, this is not about the integration, this is about economical relations". Although he added "If we talk about the work on the free trade agreement [a part of the EU Association Agreement], this will take us some time, and we still have a lot of uncertainties. Surely, we should see how this will benefit us in the short term, midterm, and long term". He also added that Ukraine may combine the EU Association Agreement with observer status in the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.’
Yanukovych’s intentions were never to be realized. The situation on the Maidan went from bad to worse until...
On the 20th of February 2014 there were a great many deaths resulting from gunfire by unidentified snipers firing from Hotel Ukraine. Along with all those killed among the protestors were four members of the Ukrainian security forces. Despite a long investigation no conclusive proof of who those who fired the shots was ever found. It is suspected by many that this was a false flag designed to bring the resultant resignation of the government and the removal of the president.
An Italian investigative journalist Gian Micalessin, interviewed three snipers who claim to have shot those killed on that day. Georgians they claim to have been sent to Ukraine by security services aligned with the American allied and educated ex- president of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili. Their accounts are extremely detailed and give the reason for the events of that day as part of the effort to stop early presidential elections taking place.
This they did. Yanukovych fled Ukraine the next day never to return. The government fell and a pro-EU government was installed. Later in the year a fiercely anti-Russian president, Poroshenko, was elected.
Now watch both videos below for what appears to be the answer to who brought the Maidan protests to an end and with them the time in office of the existing, democratically elected president and government of Ukraine.
If you prefer, the text of the interviews conducted can be found below the videos.

Transcript of the videos above:
‘What the hell? Who is shooting? Somebody got shot! I can’t believe it happened right here! A man standing right next to me just got shot!
It was at dawn, I heard sounds of gunshots as bullets were flying. Somebody got shot in the head by a sniper.
We were ordered to shoot at the police and protestors randomly.
Which location were the shots fired [from]? From the Ukraine Hotel?
The shooting was from the Ukraine Hotel.
Kyiv, February 2014. It is three months the Maidan square, in the heart of the capital, has been filled with protestors; who’ve been demanding the government and president, Victor Yanukovych, to sign an association agreement with the European Union.
On February 18th the clashes have become bloody, with about 30 casualties. The worst moment will be in the morning of February 20th. A group of unknown snipers began firing at protestors and police. In a short period of time up to 80 dead were counted.
The next day [February 21st, president] Yanukovych leaves the country. On February 22nd the opposition seizes power.
But who was shooting at the crowd and opposition?
To this very day, the official version from Kiev is the slaughter was conducted by the order of the Kremlin-backed [Yanukovych] government. This version seemed suspicious to many. The Foreign Minister of Estonia, Ermas Paet, was the first one to dispute this.
Returning from a trip to Kiev only 5 days after the massacre, [Paet] reported in a phone call to EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton, revelations from a Ukrainian doctor who examined the cadavers of Maidan square. The intercepted phone call, published widely by the Russian media, is disconcerting.
“The most disturbing thing [Paet explains] is that all of the evidence points to the people killed by snipers, both police and people in the street, were killed by the same snipers.”
Speaking with a clearly embarrassed Ashton, the foreign minister cites the testimony of the Ukrainian doctor:
“She speaks as a doctor, and says it is the same signature, the same kind of bullets. It is really disturbing that now the new coalition [Paet reaffirms] refuses to investigate what is really going on. There is a very strong conviction that they’re are behind the snipers … That it is not Yanukovych, but some of the new coalition…”
After four years from the beginning at November 2013 of Maidan demonstrations, we are able to tell another truth, completely different from the official story. Our story begins towards the end of summer 2017, in Skopye, the capital of Macedonia. There, after long and complex negotiations, we met with Koba Nergadze and Kvarateskelia Zalogy, two Georgian participants and witnesses in the tragic shootings and massacre.
Both Nergadze and Zalogy are linked to former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili , who started, in August 2008, a short but bloody war with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Nergadze, as proved by an identification card he holds, was a member of a security service at President Saakashvili’s order. Zalogy is a former Saakashvili party activist.
“I decided to come to Skopije to tell you everything we know, about what happened … and I and my friend have decided together, we need to shed some light on those facts,” Nergadze says.
Nargadze also says Alexander Revazishvilli, [we met] a few months later, a former sniper of the Georgian army, participated in the Maidan shootout. [We] met in another Eastern European country.
All three of our participants say that they were recruited at the end of 2013 by Mamuka Mamulashvili, a Saakashvili military advisor who, after the Maidan action, will move to the Donbass, to lead the so-called Georgian Legion in clashes with ethnic Russian insurgents.
“The first meeting was with Mamulashvili [was] at the office of the National Movement,” Zalogy said. “The Ukrainian uprising in 2013 was similar to the” Pink Revolution “that took place in Georgia years before. We had to direct and guide it using the same pattern used for the “Pink Revolution”
Alexander’s version is no different. “Mamuka first asked me if I was really a trained sniper, Alexander recalls, [then] he immediately told me he needed me in Kiev to pick some places.”
Our informants integrated to various groups of volunteers between November 2013 and January 2014, [after] receiving passports with false names, and money advances.
“We left on January 15, and on the plane, Zalogy remembers, I received my passport and another [passport] with my photo but with different name and surname. Then they gave us each a thousand dollars to begin, promising to give another five thousand more“
Once in Kiev, our three participants begin to understand better why they were recruited. “Our task, Alexander explains, was to arrange provocations to push the police to charge the crowd. Until the middle of February, however, there were not many weapons around. The Molotovs, the shields and the sticks were used to the maximum.”
But in mid-February, clashes around Maidan begin to get worse. “About 15 and 16 February,” Nergadze remembers, “the situation has begun to become more serious every day. It was out of control now. And in the meantime, the first shoots were heard. “With the rising of tensions, new players [would] come into play”
“One day around February 15, remembers Alexander, Mamualashvili personally visited our tent. There was another guy in his uniform with him. He introduced him and told us he was an instructor, an American soldier.” The US military veteran Brian Christopher Boyenger, is a former officer and sniper for the 101st Airborne Division. After Maidan, [Boyenger] moves on to the Donbass front, where he will fight in the ranks of the Georgian Legion alongside Mamulashvili.
“We were always in touch with this Bryan, Nergadze explains, he was a Mamulashvili man. It was he who gave us the orders. I had to follow all his instructions“
The first suspects in the possession of firearms among the ranks of demonstrators, involve Serghey Pashinsky, a leader of Maidan Square, who became, after the fall of Yanukovych, chairman of the Kiev parliament.
On February 18, in a video made that day, a rifle locked in a car was recorded with video taken by a demonstrator, showing an automatic rifle. A few seconds after, Pashinsky approaches and orders the car be allowed to go. The next day, weapons were distributed to groups of Georgian and Lithuanian mercenaries residing in Hotel Ukraine, the hotel overlooking the square used as a headquarters by opposition.
“In those days, Pashinsky and three other people, including Parasyuk, had taken the weapons handbags to the hotel. They were going to get them into my room,” Nergadze says.
Volodymyr Parasyuk is one of the leaders of the Maidan Square protest. After the massacre of demonstrators, he will become famous for an ultimatum in which he will threaten to use weapons to hunt President Viktor Yanukovych.
“On February 18, recalls Zalogy, someone took some weapons to my room. In the room with me there were two Lithuanians, the weapons were unpacked by them.”
“In each bag, recalls Nergadze, there were Makarov’s pistols, Akm automatics, carbines. And there were packages of cartridges. When I first saw them I did not understand …. When Mamulashvili arrived, I also asked him. “What’s going on,” I told him, “what are these weapons? Is everything all right?
“Koba, things are getting complicated, we have to start shooting,” he replied, “we can not go to the pre-election presidential elections …” “But who should we shoot? And where? “I asked him.” He replied that where he did not care, we had to shoot somewhere … to sow some chaos.“
“While Nergadze and Zalogy assisted in arms distribution at the hotel, Alexander Revazishvilli and other volunteers went to the Conservatory, another building overlooking the square. “It was February 16th … Pashinsky ordered us to collect our belongings and bring them in … Other people arrived, they were almost all masked.
“From their cases I understood … they carried weapons …. They pulled them out and handed them over to the various groups. Only Pashinsky was talking … “He was giving orders. He asked me where we were supposed to shoot. ” “In the meantime, explained Nergadze, even at the Ukraine hotel, the leaders of the revolt underlined the purpose of using the weapons.
“They explained to us to shoot to create chaos and confusion. We did not have to stop. It did not matter if we fired at a tree, a barricade, or a Molotov. The important thing was to sow chaos. ”
On the 20th, in the morning, the plan came into action. “It was supposed to be dawn,” Zalogy remembers, “when I heard the sound of the shots … they were not bursts, they were single strokes … came from the next room. At that same time, the Lithuanians opened the window. One of them fired one shot while the other closed the window. They have fired three or four times everywhere.”
Alexander, admitting he was involved in the shootout from the Conservatory building, claims to have understood very little. “Everyone started shooting two or three shots at a time. We did not have much choice. We were ordered to shoot both the Berkut, the police, and the demonstrators, no matter what. I was totally outraged. It went on for fifteen minutes … maybe twenty. I was out of my mind, agitated, under stress, I did not understand anything. Then suddenly, after 15, 20 minutes the shooting ceased and everyone has put down the weapons. ”
As wounded and dead arrived in the Ukrainian Hotel’s reception, the snipers fled from the rooms. And so the victims found themselves next to their assassins.
“Inside, recalls Nergadze, “there was chaos, you did not understand who was who. People ran back and forth. Someone was hurt … someone was armed. Outside was even worse. There were so many injured in the streets. And the many dead.”
Alexander says he left in a hurry. “Someone was shouting that there were snipers, I knew what they were talking about,” he said, “my only thought was to disappear before they knew about me. Otherwise, they had me. At that time, however, I did not realize, but now I understand. I do understand. We’ve been used. Used and discarded.”

A VERY REAL EVIL EXISTS IN THE WEST
It doesn’t really matter whether the genesis of the evil existing in the West is due to an ambition to have global hegemony, to exhibit its exceptional and perpetual goodness, or simply to use its hyper-capitalism and push for globalization to expand its economies.
It doesn’t matter whether the intention is to free the world from tyranny, bring democracy and have the world glowing with sweetness and light happy ever after.
The intention is the least of it. It is how that intention has its effect in the world that transforms readily to evil. You know the phrase: ‘The Road To Ruin Is Paved With Good Intentions’.
It can be said that the innumerable interventions the USA made in South America were all made with the very best of intentions. Yet how many died at the hands of the Contra guerillas? How many democratically elected presidents were removed from office or assassinated. How many coups were organized?
Some will make the case that everything the USA did in Vietnam was well intended. Or Britain enticing the Chinese to smoke opium. The slave trade and the genocide of almost the entire native population of what is now called the USA are two more dubious cases. But no doubt they have their supporters.
The attacks upon and invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq have many supporters even now. Even after so many known lies have been exposed. Then there’s Libya. SUCH good intentions. Look at it now. A completely fractured nation where militants fight for power and a new slave trade has commenced. The watchwords freedom and democracy must ring rather hollow in all these lands when they struggle just to survive another day.
Even if you conclude that the West is simply chock full of saintly personages who wouldn’t hurt a fly and want the best for everyone you still have the hundreds of thousands of dead and the lies that brought death to them, to contend with. But in the West this is the general approach. Not said in so many words of course but implied by mildness, acceptance and a calm, reasoned shrug of the shoulders kind of way, and interest in the next project to bring freedom, democracy and death to the world.
It is quite a neat psychological trick. To be responsible for decimating numerous nations, fragmenting an entire region with the deaths of hundreds of thousands based on lies... and then turn around and point at ‘bad actors’ elsewhere. Goebbels would smile in admiration at how western elites describe others constantly committing their very own crimes. The sheer cynical bravado of western political elites has to be admired for its ability to keep committing the same crime time after time and making their part in that crime simply vanish ready for the next.
Does anyone in the countries bombed and invaded care that much whether their family members were killed with good intentions in mind? That their economies were ravaged, almost reduced to the stone age the West threatened them with? Do they smile in sympathy with the “difficult decisions” that western leaders took that led to their mass slaughter?
What do YOU think? Put yourself in their shoes. Then watch the skies for the latest drone appearing overhead.
This is the reality for those “blessed” by the western kindness of war, misery and economic collapse bestowed upon them. Happy to be a candidate for the latest peace by bombing campaign? I very much doubt it.
But this keeps western populations sleeping soundly and safely in their beds some may say.
“It’s a price worth paying.”
And here we find the true evil that stretches from the elite to the lowly mentality. The we must fight them there so we don’t have to fight them here mentality. The “Kill ‘em all, let God sort them out” mentality.
This is arguably the primary, very real (and very racist) evil that exists in the West.

THE MOVING TARGETS OF THE U.S. WAR MACHINE | LOOK TWICE & THEY’RE GONE
Did Venezuela snap out of existence? Syria too?
What happened to all the news hounds who followed the trail laid down by the White House?
When the whistle blew they came running. Now the trail of potential blood has dried up they are nowhere to be seen. Are they sniffing each others’ asses now instead?
Venezuela was big news for an intense six months. Trump, Bolton, Pompeo and Rubio were tapping their fingers to the bone churning out tweets on every accusation possible... especially Little Marco.
It built up to quite a crescendo and many media ears liked the tune. A few trucks burning on the highway to nowhere added to what was meant to be a fanfare of success. Weaponized aid donated and delivered by Monsters ‘R Us, Langley, Virgina should have set the seal on the matter... but no. The beat went on.
London played its part by hoarding millions in gold and finding such great merits in the quisling who would be king... or president... or something. Guaidó. The open-mouthed goofball king maybe?
Fifty other nations fawning at the oversized feet of the USA all sang the same tune. “Guaidó, Guaidó, Guaidó, Guaidó!!”
All to no avail. Guaidó, hailed as King of the Hill, master of all he surveyed, pretender to the throne ended up a puppet without a thing... instead of dangling from a string.
The media circus waited a while, didn’t smell the blood of forty thousand dead Venezuelans... or did and didn’t care, ten packed their bags, put their filters away along with their lenses and went home.
Or perhaps went to the next target already selected on the wheel of misfortune at Langley?
The press corp cry out plaintively for the direction of travel:
Is it Ukraine? Perhaps Syria? Maybe Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq?
Can we get a signal from the Oval office please? Get that pointer pointing. We need some guidance on where the news is meant to be news now! What’s our focus?
Is it Xinjiang this week? Hong Kong? Tibet? Navalny? Belarus? How about the Czech Republic?
Ring Bellingcat. They’ll know.
It’s a slow week, a dead week. We need a death or two! Something to blame on the deadly duo R & C. The click generators supreme: Russia and China. Two golden geese for the price of one (plus our integrity of course... but that’s LONG, LONG gone).
Why not cook up some evil act by someone. We need one of them a month at the very least!
Genocide, a poisoning, a murder or two, forced sterilization, electoral interference, why not a chemical weapon attack... hey, get those White Helmet guys producing the goods, we pay them a fucking fortune!
The news cycle is slowing to a crawl man... this is killing us!
Wait... wait... here it comes! Yes! It’s cyber warfare and by, you guessed it... the Russians! Bingo! It’s media frenzy playtime once again. The Russians are truly a gift that never stops giving. Crank up the presses, it’s ‘Breaking News’ time once again. Our jobs are safe for another month or two!
Send an email of congrats to Virginia...
