For the vast majority of North Americans the so-called ‘American Dream’ is already long gone and buried if not cremated. It was a Ponzi Scheme that ran its course decades ago. Those left paying the final bills took the money and ran, what was left of it anyway.
Now all that will be left for 99% of the population are bills, bills and more bills.
Meanwhile of course the 1% will coin it in as usual with a greater and greater portion of the entire pie. What will be left? You got it. Crumbs… even tinier crumbs than usual. You will need an electron microscope to see them.
The gated communities will need a double fence to keep the new impoverished and diseased with no medical help, clamouring to get in. The elites in their ivory towers may have to go place to place in armoured cars with burly bodyguards in tow. The years ahead for the avarice-riven, greed-driven dystopia that is the US of A is going to lose any remaining sheen it retains for those also in dire straits south of the border. The reputation of the USA is going to hit rock bottom.
A combination of incompetence, ignorance, hubris and an unwarranted mythology of exceptionalism is going to drive the nation into a frenzy of chaos not seen even in recent years as parts of it were set ablaze by the murderers in its police force.
Stand by… the American Dream is just about to become a NIGHTMARE.
