It
is not looking good. For whatever reason the leaders of the western
world, or at least the vast majority of them, appear unified in their
support for war and even, most likely, its expansion. The number of
nations they seem ready to engage in expanded proxy wars against is
growing. In reality they have been conducting subversive activities
within all of them through the Non-governmental organisation (NGO)
system for decades. However, their patience appears to be running out.
They want certain systems of governance eliminated and those who run
them ousted. And there appears to be no limit to the lengths they will
go to, to achieve their goals.
In the immediate crosshairs are the nations who belong, along with Russia, in the Commonwealth of Independent States
Wikipedia:
‘The
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)[a] is a regional
intergovernmental organization in Eurasia. It covers an area of
20,368,759 km2 (7,864,422 sq mi) and has an estimated population of
239,796,010. The CIS encourages cooperation in economic, political, and
military affairs and has certain powers relating to the coordination of
trade, finance, lawmaking, and security, including cross-border crime
prevention.’
There are nine members of the CIS, Armenia,
Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia,
Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The rhetoric across the collective
West for ever more war shows no sign of diminishing despite warnings
that the present course of action can easily lead to disaster from
Hungary and Slovakia, both NATO states. If anything the warlike rhetoric
is increasing rather than decreasing with the USA and France being
particularly vociferous in advocating military escalation rather than a
diplomatic path to conflict resolution in Ukraine.
It seems there
is no limit for the most war-hungry of the western nations and the
crossing of Russia’s red lines (which appears to be imminent) seems to
be of little concern to them. That it could very well only take one more
misstep to bring disaster is obvious in the present situation. Western
leaders clearly regard their own needs as the paramount factor in all
this and all other concerns cannot compare in any way to those. This all
or nothing approach is leading to ever greater escalation as those
preeminent goals of the West appear close to being defeated in Ukraine.
Is there any way to forestall a wider war, to reduce tensions and move the entire situation toward diplomacy and away from war?
Currently
the national elections to select members to the European Parliament are
the most obvious way to make a difference. Voting for those advocating
diplomacy and peace rather than aggression and military action could
make a significant effect right now. In future months voting in a
similar manner in national presidential and general elections can have
this same effect, movement toward peace and reconciliation and away from
war and increased danger for all. If no such change occurs then the
path ahead is clear, toward an ever-expanding field of conflict, ever
more war, death and destruction.
As the western electorate the
choice is ours to make in selecting our representatives. Do we see
benefit for ourselves and our loved ones in the expanding war mentality
of western leaders, or do we put our faith in those leaders who wish to
find the path to peace?

CAN THE WORLD ESCAPE AN EXPANSION OF THE WESTERN WAR MENTALITY?
What madness is leading western leaders to totally abandon the norms of diplomacy in countering war and apparently seeking to endlessly expand it?
