WILL THE WEST EVER ACKNOWLEDGE ITS TOTAL FAILURE IN UKRAINE?

What is the situation in Ukraine free of all western political bias & its mirror image across western mainstream media? Isn't the obvious truth that the West has been soundly beaten in Ukraine?

The Russian military is pushing relentlessly forward, liberating strategic villages and positioning itself to take small towns all across the Donbass region and in particular within the territory west of Donetsk City. The Ukrainian forces are putting up some resistance but holes in the Ukrainian defense line are leaving areas without the support needed. This is due to the increasing problems of lack of manpower, the virtual elimination of Ukrainian air defenses and of inability to replace ammunition. Over the last year and more Russia has vastly increased its military manpower with an estimated 1,400 volunteers per day entering the Russian military and going on to receive extensive training.

While Russia’s manpower resources have steadily increased, those of the Kiev regime have decreased at an unsustainable level. In the last many months the attrition rate of Ukrainian troops being taken off the battlefield dead or wounded has run at a level of approximately 1,000 per day. The Kiev regime has, at the same time, struggled to recruit and train additional troops. Ukrainian men are hiding in their apartments, sometimes venturing out disguised as women or are fleeing to the Romanian border in an attempt to escape mobilization. All Ukrainian men not yet in the army know that to be dragooned off the streets and sent to the front with minimal training is a death sentence.

More and more of those Ukrainians who have been frogmarched to the front, often elderly men who absolutely should not be there (the average of a Ukrainian trooper is reported to be 45) cannot possibly stand for long against the highly trained and constantly refreshed Russian troops, given regular downtime away from the front lines. The Russian troops are, in addition, highly trained as opposed to Ukrainian conscripts who receive 6 weeks at most), armed with the latest kit and equipment (again in contrast to the lack of weapons in Ukraine) and have a constant supply of the various resources needed to sustain life at the front. In addition, the Russian military has at least a six to one advantage, and sometimes as high as a ten to one advantage in firepower in terms of artillery. Russian logistical supply is becoming more and more problem free as battle lines are straightened. Add to all this a Russian military complex that is now in high gear, consistently producing more planes, drones, missiles, artillery, tanks, shells and ammunition all the time. With hypersonic and supersonic missiles on stream and a Ukrainian air force all but decimated, allowing Russia to rule the skies, being realistic what chance does Ukraine have?

The Ukrainian offensive the summer before last was conclusively defeated by Russia with the Ukrainian military not even reaching Russia’s defensive lines, never mind the locations aimed for far behind them. At the cost of over thirty five thousand lives the regime managed to take almost no territory, all of which has now been taken back by Russia. The western powers talk of the possibility of Ukraine mounting another offensive in 2025, but with Russia now in full flood, taking more territory every day that dawns and Ukraine struggling in almost every possible area, the chances of this occurring are decreasing every day and are essentially zero.

In addition to all this, if that were not enough, the western powers are both running out of military supplies to send to Ukraine while at the same time losing all ability or willingness to keep send endless $billions to a side quite obviously losing. While the West loses faith in an always atrociously bad bet in Ukraine the majority of the world’s great powers are uniting in opposition to these constantly bad bets the West keeps making. The Kazan summit just ended showed this with utmost clarity.

It must be evident to any serious observer by now that the independent military experts are correct when they say that Russia will prevail even if it is simply on the basis of a far greater ratio of resources compared to that available to the Ukrainian regime. This despite the pouring of weaponry and monetary support into Ukraine by the western powers, the level of which is set to diminish greatly over the coming months.

When it became clear that Russia had withstood the onslaught of western financial and economic sanctions, and even began to prosper economically while the West suffered, it was clear Russia would prevail. It would have been sensible and pragmatic for the western powers to convince Zelensky to halt his futile resistance when this became clear. It is obvious that the West was relying on a double whammy of a weakened Russia through sanctions and isolation by the majority of nations along with the expense of Ukrainian blood and treasure, to effect a victory. Now, after the complete failure of all the West, Zelensky and his military have done, there can be  no stopping Russia regarding the attainment of its goals. 

However the western allies and their media try to slice it the end will be humiliating for them. The USA and UK will be seen to have failed spectacularly. In addition it is inevitable that will see heads fall all across the EU. Brussels will have to eat crow and cough up billions from EU taxpayers to put rump Ukraine back into some kind of decent shape again. Russia will reinforce its governance in all its new territories, bringing all the benefits of Russian pensions, health care, education, salaries, infrastructure such as airports, rail lines, motorways etc. etc. 

Ten years from now the entire region will be transformed and any historian looking back will surely remark at the utterly disastrous folly of the West in engaging in an effort, pushed by the USA to weaken Russia that rebounded so disastrously upon them. The historians of the future will surely shake their heads in utter disbelief that such arrant and unmitigated stupidity, flagrant loss of life and catastrophic self-inflicted wounds could ever be allowed to take place.

 

GETTING BIDEN THROUGH TO JANUARY WILL MEAN THE SENSELESS DEATHS OF 100,000 UKRAINIANS

The depth of cynicism currently being displayed in the attempt to save the reputation of Joe Biden regarding Ukraine should make everyone sick to their stomachs.

Joe Biden has a long track history in relation to Ukraine. Sent by Barack Obama to essentially supervise America’s war there he has retained a morbid interest in pursuing that war ever since. Now that it has become clear that that war is being lost at an inconvenient time every effort is being made to keep the regime and its hapless army in place till Biden exits. It would not look good in his bio if the Ukraine war was lost on his watch. What kind of a legacy would that be?

Imagine the situation as it exists now. The Ukrainian army is down to forcibly snatching men off the street, giving them a few weeks training and then sending them to the most dangerous positions near the front lines. It is no exaggeration to call these men cannon-fodder. It is known that the most highly trained troops are being kept in reserve while the newbies are delivered to face the ‘meat grinder’ as best they can. It is highly unlikely they will even see a Russian soldier. The last known estimate of life expectancy for the average newbie arrival was around four hours. It is bad enough when the Ukrainian army is holding its own against the Russians. But totally cruel when the war is clearly lost and the whole exercise is just to get Joe to the exit reputation relatively unblemished.

It was known from relatively near the start how this would end. As soon as the western sanctions regime failed to weaken Russia, and the global majority refused to get on side with the western powers, Russia was always going to win. The Russian simply had an overwhelming preponderance of the resources required and in every regard. With over 1,000 km of frontline it was always going to take some time. But the end result was never in doubt once it was clear that Russia’s income stream would remain unaffected by the attacks made upon it by the West.

Neither could Russia afford to lose, far too much was at stake regarding its national security. The only thing that could have stopped Russia winning would have been direct intervention in Ukraine by the western powers via NATO. That option was barred right at the start due to the inevitability of a wider war erupting, quite possibly leading to an all-out nuclear war with Russia if that fateful step was taken. This was not from lack of trying by Zelensky and his minions. His recently unveiled ‘Victory Plan’ pleads for this as well as an immediate invite into NATO and the West guiding missiles deep into Russia.

With no NATO invite, no direct western military involvement in Ukraine and no strikes deep inside Russia Zelensky’s plan completely collapses. Nothing apart from these refused requests is going to significantly change the trajectory of the war. Even if Zelensky hangs on to a fraction of the already shrinking area of incursion within the Kursk region of Russia, even if the fabled F16s start to go on missions at long last, even if another thousand tanks and missiles are provided… Russia can more than match everything. The war is lost. There is no hope whatsoever for the Ukrainian regime’s victory. All such hope is fantastical wishful thinking and a willful state of denial.

So why are we now in this absurd position where Russia is clearly moving forward taking ever more land in a steady grinding down of the Ukrainian opposition with no sign of calls for talks to end this? The policy of western leaders is clearly to encourage Ukraine to fight to the last Ukrainian while the cause is lost without any possible shadow of a doubt. There are no miracles in such a one-sided war. Besides all else Russia has massive air superiority, superiority of ammunition and missile supply and a fast-expanding army able to replenish itself and provide regular rotation.

Ukraine cannot possibly hope for divine intervention. So what now?

The Ukrainian army by its own admission is near exhaustion. It’s best troops have either left the battlefield dead or wounded over the last two and a half years or are being held in reserve while the rookies are pushed forward to their inevitable slaughter. Meanwhile Zelensky’s decree prohibiting talking to the Russians stands and no western politicians other than Viktor Orban of Hungary and Robert Fico of Slovakia are willing to talk with them. This while the compassion-worthy, mostly quite elderly, Ukrainian men dragooned into the army and sent to die will not die for Ukraine, they will die only to save the reputation of Joe Biden and nothing more. Talks to end the lost war of the West should have begun long ago and the chances in Minsk and Istanbul should not have been squandered. Now upwards of a hundred thousand Ukrainians will certainly have died by the time Joe Biden leaves the White House in one of the greatest and most sickening political scandals of modern times.

 

CAN THE BRICS GLOBAL MAJORITY CONTAIN THE USA & ITS PROXIES?

Is the effort of the USA and its allies to mold the world to its self-conceived image benign or malign, and if it is malign, are those affected now in a position to safeguard themselves against it?

There is still an opinion out there that the political elites of the USA, UK and EU along with a few others such as Australia, New Zealand and Japan are the predominant civilized powers holding the rest of the world’s barbarity a bay. This concept of the world as a wicked place only held together by dint of the good guys of the West doing so out of the goodness of their hearts is getting difficult to maintain however. Was it ever true? This is highly doubtful.

Was the British Empire for instance, an example of an outreach program seeking to do good for all it touched, or was it rather an aggressive policy of blatant exloitation? What about the desire by the British to get the Chinese hooked on opium so that the vast resources of China could come into British hands? Was the concept of U.S. exceptionalism and British superiority anything other than a means to an end, that end being continually in a position to more easily exploit the rest of the world and having a believable justification for it?

There are various opinions regarding the motivations of the political, media, military and intel elites of North America and the british Isles in relation to those nations’ very similar foreign policy. That it is quite obviously interventionist is hopefully an uncontroversial statement. Whether the motivations, and the consequences, of the pursuit of that interventionist foreign policy are benign or malign are the subject of this commentary along with the question of what, if anything, should be done about it.

We have seen many regime change wars rage since 9/11. Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria the chief of them. There have been some successes in the short term in some cases while long term failures are more pronounced. Both predicated of course on what the precise goals were for these operations. For some, merely ‘taking out’ certain leaders/regimes may well have been enough of a success without any kind of nation-building project being successful afterward. Simply neutralizing the threat to the USA or West in general as perceived by them being enough.

Coming after most of these regime change wars we had the intervention in Syria of Russia which arguably stopped the western regime change project there in its tracks. A few years previously Russia’s red lines had been crossed in Ukraine. Meanwhile, relations with China were constantly being soured by the West leading to ever worsening relations on that front. The constant acts of intervention, and i other words by interference, by the western powers becme an observable every day occurrence.

Previous to more recent interventions were eras when generations of North American elites engaged in such acts as a matter of routine wherever it was perceived ‘U.S. interests’ were under threat. A great many of them took place in Latin America. The justifications used for these U.S. interventions and indeed for all those carried out by the elites of the western world as a whole seek to create a platform for action that amounts to a uniquely, self-awarded dispensation where international law need not apply. 

These justifications amount to the buzzwords we are all familiar with:

Democracy

Freedom

Human Rights

In the name of all three above the USA and its allies have given themselves the right to intervene whatever way they see fit globally where they assert any one of these elements is considered missing to any degree. In effect the USA and its allies act as if they have been tasked by some higher power to command and discipline any and all others they conceive to be requiring correction and restructuring. No ultimate authority (except conceivably a creator god) is required to provide the authority to do this. International law need not apply.

You may conceive the activity above to be urgently required, an essential civilizing effect that should be carried out in all our names. Presumably, if you have this opinion, you conceive of a far better world in prospect if it is carried out with maximum efficiency. But what of those who point to the democratically-elected leaders who were overthrown by these elites, or the dictators they managed to put in their place and who they supported because ‘they are OUR dictators’? How do these events sit with the idea that these powers world only to ‘do good’?

The means employed and the motivations behind using those means indicate the factor of self-interest is strongly at work. It is this self-interest (usually called ‘defending U.S. national interests’) which alloys the fine sentiments expressed, of building a better, more democratic, freer world where human rights are rigorously enforced for all. This all sounds so noble until we take a closer look. The track record on this score is patchy at best. And the motivation to gain advantage for self rather than engage in selfless good for all must inevitably play some, and possibly aeven the largest part of the enterprise.

Yet despite the flaws inevitably introduced by human nature into the proceedings we see the robust and always determined agenda to continually promote those policies that bring an enormous degree of western intervention worldwide. The virtuous circle constantly talked of where democracy, freedom and human rights will result from these interventions will quite predictably (based on recent experience) never be squared. Yet the interventions appear intended to go on essentially forever. Or until factors arise which bring them to a halt. What might these factors be?

This brings us to the question framed in the title of this commentary. Can those who have had their internal structures, whether political, military, religious or social, interfered with through western government initiatives for generations mount a challenge to this process and succeed in halting it completely? There have been very few instances where this exceptionally difficult task have achieved any success until now. Arguably China has been most resilient in this respect since the victory of the Chinese communist party over Chiang Kai-shek’s forces. With only very few successful attempts to initiate subversive elements within the resulting Chinese society it has managed to prevent any substantial regime change efforts.

In fact the rise of China as the single predominantly successful and economically powerful nation highly resistant to western interference has created a foundation upon which others now have an opportunity to stand. This is a process we see actively occurring on an almost daily basis as ever more nations seek a closer relationship with the BRICS group which acts as a central hub for nations looking to protect their national interests from the interventionist forces of the West. This trend, toward strengthening the barriers to western desires to intervene and manipulate the sovereign concerns of nations, for whatever justifications, appears to be one that will continue to grow. Now, with the recent ending of the Petrodollar agreement between Saudi Arabia and the USA another stick the U.S. elites have used to beat nations into line, is broken. 

Th days of western dominance, sought for whatever reason, benign or malign, is clearly now progressively ending and no reversal of this movement of nations to protect themselves is in prospect. The situation appears likely to grow progressively worse for the ambitions of the western powers to hold onto the remaining weapons of manipulation, persuasion and intervention they continue to employ. The continued use of these weapons is in fact motivating nations to even greater speed in their pursuit of protection against them. Therefore we can begin to make out the ultimate destination in which we are headed; to the full quarantining of western efforts to manipulate nations that now have the strength to protect themselves to the full from  such activity.

The ever-expanding BRICS group is the global majority’s answer to all that is described above. These nations have been on the receiving end of the purportedly benign actions of the West over centuries now. Weak and exploited for centuries one or two of them, in particular China and India, have in recent times, become economically strong. Strong enough to finally do something about those who would continually exploit them if allowed to do so (while protesting they are only out to help you). They say “Enough!” we won’t tolerate this any longer. And THIS is why BRICS is growing. And THIS is why the power of the West to do as they have done in the past, will shrink.

The world is changing… and the change is unstoppable. The western abusers and exploiters will now daily, weekly, monthly and yearly see their power, influence and ability to dominate, threaten and wage war on others, fade. Their time as the top dogs of our world is ending. And with that era ending a completely different reality will emerge and become the norm. That reality will emphasise peace, stability and tolerance of diverse systems of governance in a spirit of bridge building and trade fostering. A world very close to the dream of idealists down through the ages will emerge. The BRICS summit in Kazan over the last few days heralds the renewed possibility of a true civilization at last on Planet Earth.

THE WORLD IS MOVING TOWARD BRICS IN UNITY AGAINST THE RECKLESS WEST

The western powers have so aggressively overplayed their hand in seeking to maintain their global control that their victims have had no choice but to unite against them.

As the BRICS summit in Kanzan, Russia nears its end we can see most of the significant players outside the western sphere of influence lay down a marker for their long-time western oppressors. Their time of calling the shots and playing the part of global bully is fast ending. Like any criminals out of control they took things too far and now they will in due course serve the equivalent of jail time. We will not have all that long to wait until we see an effective quarantining of the mad dogs of the USA, UK and EU. This will not come about through the violence of war, but by the inexorable rise of economies far more robust and well-grounded than those of the West.

Meanwhile, as the nations of bRICS and beyond busy themselves with creating a new world, this overarching reality is something most commentators in the West are continually failing to address. Blinded by their own fixed notions and perpetual barrages of lies, one heaped upon another, they have not seen what’s coming down the pike toward them. Too busy slandering Vladimir Putin, Russia or Xi Jinping of China by creating innumerable barrages of  disinformation, they have made themselves wonderfully vulnerable. The BRICS summit and what it means for those of the West who think they are the perpetual masters of the world is an elephant in the room that is now almost embracing all four corners of that room. 

Up to and exponentially so after the events of 9/11 there was general agreement among western political elites that the USA and its allies would be the police force patrolling the world, threatening it, blackmailing it, coercing it, and punishing it at will. The air of superiority and exceptionalism evinced by this attitude created a permanent noxious stench wherever their interference took them. The overweening pride they exuded in their illegal acts afgainst international law has been slowly but surely bringing about their eventual fall. After 9/11 they took things beyond all reasonable limits and what we see now in and through BRICS is a direct result of the overreach they so unwisely engaged in.

The main decision arising from post-9/11 deliberations was that there would no longer be ANY toleration of  ANY non-U.S. obedient entities across the world. The overreach was embedded deep in a hubris concerning this decision and was an integral part of a deadly recipe.The decision made then remains in place and is what drives the out of control juggernaut of western interference we see now and which will now hit the wall of BRICS resistance. The western powers cannot stop themselves. They have neither the will nor the sense. They are completely unable to halt the process begun after 9/11 for one simple reason; it has no achievable end date, it is totally open-ended, there is no timetable nor any realistically achievable goal. All the entire project has done is ensure the USA and its allies forfeit just about any power and influence that they have in store which they have used to constantly abuse the world for so long now.

The utmost determination behind the goals set after 9/11 meant they simply could not backtrack, no one person and no group could question those goals let alone modify or ameliorate them. There was never going to be any authority with the power to do so. The machine created after 9/11 has no reverse gear, there is no Plan B.  What all this zombie-like destructive force built into the U.S. political superstructure that many call ‘The Deep State’ has achieved is the complete destruction of any internal integrity. Now lies are used like any other weapon, no limits are set, all is possible because the goal set is impossible to achieve. And of course that goal is complete global control, in effect the creation of a prison planet. Post 9/11 there was to be no true diplomacy, only propaganda and forward progress toward ever more pervasive totalitarian control. Anything that was good within previous western political systems was extricated and eliminated, replaced by the ranks of boneheads, hawks and warmongering zealots we see now, ultimately destined of course to do much, much more harm than they could ever do good.

So, lost in delusion are these boneheads, hawks and warmongering zealots that they cannot even dimly see that they are constantly weakening the thing called the West tht they have been determined to strengthen. Despite the clear evidence that the campaign to achieve the primary goals set after 9/11 have failed, this has only made them more dedicated to ever more reckless doubling down, creating ever more catastrophic outcomes. The recklessness involved at this stage is more evident than ever. Look at Israel, look at Ukraine. The West is going down by the day. It’s obvious. There is most likely no eventuality which they do not contemplate at this point with no weapon at their disposal excluded. This very definitely includes the use of nuclear weapons. At the very end the danger is that they will glimpse the truth and the folly of what they have done. They will see they have been the agents of their very own misfortune.

The stage has come when the people behind the post 9/11 project see enemies all around them. To paraphrase George W. Bush, the insane way they see things now in their blind arrogance is that if you are not for us you are against us. And more and more nations, due to the recklessness of these self-blinded western elites are showing every sign of now rising in unity against the madmen and women of the West, against the rabid lunacy of the West with its ever-increasing and never reducing aggressive, invasive, interfering and warmongering.

BRICS, the Shanghai Organisation and the Eurasian Union plus many other organizations are uniting ever more cohesively. More and more nations, those with the largest populations and economies in the east, middle east and far east are uniting more and more under the expanded BRICS security and economic defense umbrella. Up to forty nations are queuing to join BRICS and many more are undoubtedly looking to. The rise of the bRICS will ultimately quarantine the USA and its allies, stopping them from further damaging the world in pursuit of the mirage of world domination. They act as any good citizen would when confronted by the danger presented by such a rabid dog.

THE EVE OF DESTRUCTION MUST GIVE WAY TO THE BRICS DREAM

We are at the most dangerous epoch in human history. Forces of fragmentation, chaos & destruction are gaining ever-greater hold. In what can we hope for deliverance in these frightening times?

Could things get any more insane than now? Could the hopes and dreams we held close to our hearts in the Sixties of future peace and harmony become any less visible than now? 

We stand on the eve of destruction to employ the title of a popular protest song of the Sixties by Barry Mcguire.

Does it have to be this way? Is it inevitable that each decade brings more war, more disillusionment and less hope?

On this, the second day of the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia we can see that hope for a better world does exist. Stability, tolerance, cooperation, dialogue and the search for a route to a civilization we can be proud of are ongoing within the ever-expanding BRICS group. On this second day of the summit its members are seeking that way forward to the better future we all deserve and must find for the sake of all who come after us.

The more things change the more they remain the same they say. In the Sixties we refused to believe that fundamental change was impossible. Subsequent events proved us wrong at that time. Our naive belief in love and peace didn’t last. A bare half a decade later we saw those hopes and dreams fall apart and ‘normal’ life resume. The archetypal norms reasserted themselves and all we had left was nostalgia for what could have been.

These days all the talk is of war and the threat of war. Sides have been taken more firmly than ever before. Diplomacy is dead and anything resembling a purported democracy in the West is fast dying too. Those who railed against the totalitarianism of the East are now steadily enforcing it on the populations of the West. Freedom of speech is transmogrifying into the control of speech in the West. More and more we are told what to say, the views to hold and the attitudes that we MUST have… or else.  Thinking now of how free we were down decades past, beginning arguably in the Sixties, brings the most mournful thoughts possible to our minds. 

We appear to be headed toward a full on prison planet where everything about us is known with judgment passed upon every aspect of our lives. We are constantly observed, targeted and sold things based upon those observations, castigated for some of them, punished for others and rewarded for those western states deem good. The vast systems holding ‘big data’ about us can be analyzed to provide every possible detail of our lives, using and abusing the data at will. Big Brother is arriving soon… and is determined that we do as he says.

Thankfully all is NOT lost. As unlikely as it may seem there is hope for something other than lives locked within a system that keeps you under surveillance 24/7 and demands you conform to its needs. Resistance against this dystopian nightmare began around two decades ago due to the determination of Russian president Vladimir Putin. In the wake of 9/11 and the western demand that all nations must be subservient to it he said no. Not with Russia anyway. He made it clear that Russia will remain an independent, sovereign nation determining its own future path, and will not act as a slave nation manipulated by any single nation or group of nations.

Slowly but surely since the words of Vladimir Putin spoken in 2007 at the then Munich Security Conference other nations have begun taking the same line. Notably among them China but also others such as India, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Others too seek to become members of the BRICS alliance. All have asserted that another way exists than the way the western powers demand, of subservience to it and its institutions. Unless you have not heard, currently the total of nations wishing to join BRICS is over thirty, approaching forty. Nations ready, willing and enthusiastic in presenting another way forward rather than continued western domination and endless wars.

In recent times Saudi Arabia has stated that the deal it made with the USA fifty years ago to only use the dollar to trade in has expired and will not be renewed. The grip on world trade by the West using the petrodollar has been removed. Now dedollarization will continue apace, freeing up myriad nations from U.S. control via its unilateral sanctions. Thus the movement away from the draconian future the West wishes to impose on us all will now inevitably flourish and expand.

Here is our hope, hope even reflecting to some extent the innocent dreams of youth in those long gone years of the Sixties. Russia, China and the others are seeking the stability and peace that benefits trade, greater understanding and most important of all, mutual cooperation. Cultural exchange in an atmosphere of trust where nations hold peaceful coexistence at a premium cannot but generate greater mutual understanding.

That the forces of the West now operating in unison to destroy the effect of the BRICS nations, to weaken them and stop them rising, must be defeated, is obvious. Anyone who sees the reality of our common situation must surely hope so. The alternative vision, of a prison planet where the western warders suppress any and all resistance is just too awful to contemplate. A better world MUST be possible, this world of war as set in place by the western powers cannot be our legacy passed on to the children of the future. There has to be a better way.

That better way is through the building of a stable world where peace can thrive. That world has now become possible through BRICS. The possibility now exists where we can bring about a new dawn of civilization on our planet where we will no longer stand here helplessly on the eve of destruction. A better world is possible. The BRICS group can and will bring it into being.

BRICS AND A MULTIPOLAR WORLD - WHAT ARE THE WESTERN POWERS SCARED OF?

Might there be a better path for the USA & its allies to find their optimum place in the world rather than endlessly fighting all others to change them? Why not join them instead?

Today marks the start of the 16th BRICS summit which is taking place in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. Discussions, decisions and agreements made over the next few days will change the geopolitical underpinnings of our world. The nations of the global south and Eurasia, those nations whose populations compose the global majority have chosen a different path from those of the collective west. That collective west, with its wars, its sanctions and constant interference in their affairs, is being brought to a condition of being quarantined as the mad dog of our world. The aim of BRICS is uninterrupted peace where trade can find the stability to bring nations together, free of the intolerance and aggression the West appears unable to extricate itself from.

There was never any need for the western powers to act as they did. The self-interest and avid desire to 'have it all' is now about to drive it into increasingly indebted isolation. For centuries the nations that comprise the West have sought only to exploit the weaker nations of the world to their continual benefit. BRICS is the result of an international backlash against all those centuries of economic abuse. Slowly but surely the nations the western powers exploited have combined together to resist the power and influence of the West. The process is ongoing and unstoppable at this stage. However, when the political stewards of the West finally have the courage and faith to acknowledge that all nations have a right to inalienable sovereignty they too will be gladly welcomed to the fold.

China has made enormous strides over the last thirty years in building her economy. Russia, on Vladimir Putin’s watch, has done the same over the last quarter of a century. Alongside these within the BRICS group India has also made great gains in this respect also. Now the entire African continent is poised for something similar. In general the nations of the global south, Middle East and in Latin America are tending to gravitate toward the BRICS group, i.e. to link up with Brazil, Russia, China and India. Nations that joined the group in recent times are Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. 

What is the purpose of the BRICS group?

The BRICS group was formed to enhance ease of trading between its members in an atmosphere of non-interference, equality, and mutual benefit. 

Up to forty countries including Algeria, Bolivia, Indonesia, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Comoros, Gabon, and Kazakhstan have expressed interest in joining the forum. The BRICS group has a bank embedded within its structure, the New Development Bank.

The latest primary goal of the BRICS group of nations is to increase the use of local currencies when trading. Currently the vast majority of trades are conducted in dollars due to stability, reliability and efficiency factors. The move away from the dollar is seen as necessary however as its use leaves countries open to economic blackmail and sanctions unilaterally applied by the USA, unaccountable to any universal law. The nations seeking to improve their trading networks and to get out from under the threat always held over them by the USA are therefore seeking in increasing numbers to join the BRICS group.

The political elites of the USA, naturally enough, see the above as a threat to their global dominance and are using a variety of methods including sanctions and even the use of the U.S. military to oppose, and if at all possible, to weaken the group. 

Inherently bound up with the BRICS group is the concept of multipolarity where power is shared by all nations rather than as it has been up till now, dominated by one nation and its allies, that nation being the United States of America. 

At the fall of the Soviet Union and with China still a relatively poor nation compared to the western powers, the USA found itself at the apex of power worldwide in what has become known as the ‘Unipolar Moment’. At this time it was believed that the USA, exercising its newfound and virtually unlimited power, would transform the world in its own image.

The advent of 9/11 and the reaction of the USA’s political elite to it brought into being an extremely powerful dynamic to minimize the power of all potential enemies and, where they deemed it necessary, to eliminate them completely. Thus began a campaign that continues to this day focusing on target nations, among whom are Russia, China, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Venezuela, Nicaragua, North Korea and Cuba, some of which are BRICS nations of prospective BRICS nations.

Instead of fighting, along with its allies, to maintain its dominance over all others and in doing so first fragmenting the world, and then presumably knitting it all back together again under its sole command, is there perhaps not another, better way, to proceed? Essentially, all that needs to happen to achieve that alternative of a well-balanced, multipolar world is that the USA, UK and their allies stand down in their attempt to halt that process. This by somehow or other developing greater insight into the lack of harm in the long term to them, the destructiveness of their current policy, and into the beneficial effects of what will happen if they do this. Currently they are living in the past of former glories with a paranoid filter before their eyes thinking that others will behave as they have done to this point and begin to treat them as enemies. 

The very worst thing that is likely to happen in the short term is that their economic prospects will suffer to a degree. You might think that is bad enough and a good enough reason to keep pushing an aggressive, warlike stance against the rising powers of Russia, China and the rest. However, how much of the thinking going on among western elites is projection, that the Russians and Chinese those aligned with them will do to them what they would like to do to those they regard as enemies?

Is there really any reason to believe that the Russians or the Chinese want to act as global cops as the western powers have done for so long now? It is quite clear that their present behavior indicates a very different approach based upon a high degree of tolerance for diverse systems of governance and an absolute minimum of anything approaching an ideological stance. Their concentration is on coming to agreements that create the stability required for increased trade. 

If the USA, UK and EU dropped the idea that they are the indispensable nations and that collectively their duty is to force all other nations to mirror them, the world would 

It is certain that from this point onward we would see the newly-formed multipolar world embracing the new, non-aggressive US, UK and EU gladly within its trading network as members fully signed on to maintaining a tolerant ethos worldwide. From this point onward the valuable expertise and ingenuity of the North American people could reach new heights within a new and far more balanced, stable and peaceful world, as opposed to instigating wars that constantly fragment it.

THE BRICS BRUSH CAN SWEEP THE WORLD CLEAN OF ITS WARMONGERS

For those who dream of a world where nations build trust rather than bombs, & tolerance & interchange between them make peace rather than war the rule... we now stand at the cusp of that possibility.

In a few days time arguably the most important event in recent history will begin. That event is the BRICS summit from October 22nd to 24th in Kazan, capital of Tatarstan, Russia. Old and new members will meet to discuss the next steps in reinforcing the trading network between them. The hot topic for this summit will be the creation of a system of financial transfers between all members that releases them from the grip of the USA and those confined to its orbit.

The movement away from the West and toward Eurasia and the East will be still further reinforced at the coming summit. Undoubtedly more nations will announce their interest in joining BRICS. In recent months Türkiye has expressed its strong interest. Some 30+ other nations have also done so in the past year. This alliance of trading nations is attracting all those countries who seek an alternative to the West-dominated systems that have dominated world trade for so long now. Institutions such as the G7 and G20, the IMF and World Bank.

The BRICS bank will provide investment capital under far better conditions than any western institution while the general ethos of the BRICS grouping will provide a safe, tolerant space for nations with all manner of governance systems. Building relations through trade and cultural exchange will replace the generally cold, threatening, intolerant and unforgiving systems of the West that have dominated the world until now. There will be an end to western sanctions regimes and none will be required within BRICS. The new systems being built within BRICS now will exclude the possibility of the USA or any other western nation imposing bilateral sanctions on any BRICS nation.

Increasingly local, national currencies are being used for trade across BRICS nations. The dependency on the US dollar as the world reserve currency is diminishing and in due course the USA will be unable to threaten, blackmail and impose sanctions on nations. The world outside the area controlled by the West will no longer be at the mercy of western “values” imposed as Holy Writ. Nations will be free to enjoy full sovereignty, an inalienable and treasured right that has been denied them until now. No longer will nations be coerced into assisting the West in its regime change wars of choice.

Slowly but surely as a result of the BRICS group growing in strength the political elites of the West with their attitudes of self-rewarding, self-regarding and self-interested exceptionalism and superiority will lose their power to threaten others either economically or militarily. They will sooner or later have to accept that in a world where there is multipolarity there is no place for any single nation or group of nations to have and exert overweening power, influence and right to command, threaten and punish others. The world of the past where the collective west demanded all others bow to it or else, will end.

The until now responsibility-free ability of the western elites to interfere worldwide, even to the extent of invading other nations, will be curtailed and ultimately ended altogether. There will be no obedience to the West’s demand that all work under the banner of ‘Western Values’ rather than the principles enshrined in the charter of the United Nations. That end game ploy to insist upon western dominance as opposed to collective responsibility within the UN will not stand. As the BRICS group expands, the ability of the USA to demand and exert unwarranted influence will shrink and ultimately will enter a time of full quarantine.

It will be up to the leadership of the USA and its partner nations to bite the bullet, acknowledge that they are nations equal to others but not superior to them. When this becomes fully internalized where the previous notions of exceptionalism and superiority have been fully exorcized from western elite minds, then these nations will be ready to join all others on the road to a truly civilized world. Though naturally there will be problems to resolve in that new world the chances that they can be resolved without threat, blackmail, coercion or violence will be exponentially greater than before. That world will see bridges built, not burned, hands reaching out in friendship rather than fists aimed at “adversaries” and every effort will go into building trust, not barriers. This new world awaits… and in just a few days time strong foundations for that world will be laid in Kazan.
