THE IDIOCY OF CONSPIRACY

Muddying the waters means the actuality of menace is less evident.

Conspiracy theorists mimic today’s western politicians and media commentators who think opinion, accusation, innuendo and theory merit an equal status to facts and evidence.

They don’t.

We have seen endless articles where pundits claim they know what Vladimir Putin is thinking, planning and doing, usually along the same nefarious lines. It’s all speculation without hard facts or evidence to back it up. But it sells.

Conspiracy theorists shooting the breeze with theories of every possible kind abound. Everyone is free to create such theories and the hope must always be that the vast majority are able to judge them by comparing what is said to known fact. However, it is clear that many find themselves hard of thinking these days and out of whatever motive fall for such theories hook, line and sinker. They then use these theories as the lens through which they see much else.

It’s a kind of self-inflicted brainwashing.

And it’s not different in effect than the use of misinformation by western states to generate consent for regime change wars. In conspiracy theories individuals, groups, nations and other entities inevitably get demonized. You can hardly have conspiracy theories without some sort of villain being involved. You need the negative emotional response against some other or others for the thing to have traction and fix firmly within the mind.

Why do people do it to themselves?

Clearly there is a fundamental need that is being catered for by conspiracy theories. Does it make up for the laziness of thought and action that precludes the possibility of investigating the facts in detail? Meanwhile supplying the need for answers without the effort involved in doing actual research to find them out?

Many like instant answers these days. Simple black, white and emotional stimulus texts that push buttons and cause a certain kind of human puppet to react. Idiotic visuals that stimulate the cortex are commonplace now. TikiTok and social media in general cater to an ever-shortening attention span. Instant is approaching a nanosecond response time closer and closer with each passing day it seems. Soon pseudo solutions, faux news and imaginary scenarios of all kinds may be readily available on demand in a kaleidescopic array of alternative realities.

The mud-strewn waters concerning world events will then tend more to resemble the swirling spectrum within an oil slick than a brown sludge.

In this frenzy of confused alternate realities where the search for and pondering on objective fact is seen as a rather difficult and tedious pastime our elites are the ones who ultimately win out.

While the general gaze is fixed mesmerically upon little screens where images dance and conspiracies entice, the gimlet-eyed who are employed to effect and enhance the interests of western states carry on their activities in the real world untroubled.

It keeps the rabble occupied.

Bread and circuses have been transformed for the modern world to fascinating ersatz experiences and fake instant knowledge. The populations looking in find the mix that suits them most and the level of that keeps their intellects atrophied to the most comfortable level.

We do it to ourselves as the real world passes us by. Why do we need it when we can immerse ourselves within our screens and get virtually all our sensual and intellectual needs satisfied? Who can cope with the actual complexities involved anyway? So why bother? believe the conspiracy theory of your choice and there you are, problem solved! No need to think further. There’s no need to make your brain hurt these days, is there?

So it goes. And so goes so much with it...

Into the morass of this modern time. The morass of intellectual dwarfism where you choose whatever reality your little heart desires.

Bring on Armageddon?

It’s already here. It's within the terminally hedonistic, self-interested but mindless, must-have-a-view, great-I-am midget-minded world of conspiracy idiocy.
