The end of the Second World War heralded the chance of a new beginning where tolerance, not enmity was the order of the day.
That chance was squandered, not least by Winston Churchill’s ‘Iron Curtain’ speech and the capitalist consensus that followed.
The Soviet Union had been the crucial factor in winning WWII. The foundations of its system lay in the idealistic notion that an economy could be run for the benefit of all, not just for the few. The elitist systems of the past would be dismantled and every worker would benefit from that new dawn for humankind. By example others would demand their rights as those who produced the wealth. Exploiting capitalists who kept their workers condemned to low wages and as few rights as possible while they reaped the rewards of their labor would be done away with. The whole population would work hard and reap the full benefit of their labor.
Churchill, along with all those who held elite positions in the West where freedom was the watchword and enslavement of the workers was the reality, initiated the unwarranted and destructive division between East and West. The many ranks of the elite western class joined Churchill in his self-interested crusade against the more equal world imagined and worked toward in the Soviet Union.
Every device was used across the elites of the western world to turn the idealistic dream of utopia in the East to a disastrous and failing dystopia. That new world was hard to bring into being, it had many weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Many mistakes were made as there was no blueprint to follow and many within the architects and among the workers added to human misery rather than alleviating it. But the goal was clear to the majority, at least in those early years.
The capitalist elites clamored for the death of the system that would deny them endless profits. They coveted those protected markets and desired them for themselves to exploit as they wished for the sake of the endless profits they were addicted to.
Western political elites complied with the wishes of their capitalist class and initiated an arms race to deplete the finances within the Soviet Union that would have otherwise gone to improve the lot of its population. Every dirty trick, every possible propaganda narrative, every provocation and every encouragement to the criminal, the disaffected and the greedy within the Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact allies was used continually and across all western intelligence agencies.
The disaffected were rewarded, spies recruited, criminals encouraged, saboteurs trained, assassins readied, rioters arranged, betrayers financed. There were no avenues left unexplored to bring down the primary rival to capitalism. And each and every method was potentially being used every second of every day 24/7 across every intelligence agency in the entire western world.
Naturally reactions were tainted with paranoia but the fears were well-founded based on the knowledge of the reality of threats they faced from the CIA, MI6 and all the others. They knew what the political, diplomatic and media elites of the West were doing. They knew the lies that were being told, the one sided deceptions in place of news, the demonization of their idealism. They knew it all precisely and to the last detail. And they knew that western propaganda about them was completely believed by the vast majority of western populations.
They acted to root out spies, provocateurs and subversives among them. The used surveillance methods to observe the movements of dissidents who were spreading discord and lies which threatened their longed-for utopia of the common man and woman, the workers who deserved their due in this new world.
They punished the entire families of those who acted against the interests of the majority because they undoubtedly be tainted by the actions and thoughts of their subversive fathers, mothers, brothers or sisters. Curtailed education, denied employment opportunities, travel bans. No infection of their undermining cancerous thought processes could be allowed to spread.
The West continued to exploit weaknesses and make propaganda from the oppression rising from the reaction to their own aggression. These methodologies to bring down governments are still used to this day creating the maximum number of provocations, pushing states to take repressive measures and exploiting the resulting “human rights abuses” in endless and all-pervasive propaganda through western NGO agencies and CIA front groups.
These are the methodologies still at work today in all the western attacks on Russia, China and all the other nations that western self-interested elites deem targets for destruction.
Planned economies such as that of China where resources are channeled to benefit the majority of citizens are a target.
Economies such as that of Russia where there is a leadership that maintains a sovereign and independent ethos not controlled by the West and its corporations are a target.
Economies where socialism is seen as a primary ingredient in having a truly civilized society where wealth and life chances are spread more evenly are a target.
The capitalist elites of the West want it all. They want the profit from every corner of the globe. Because their addiction to profit is endless. Enough can never be enough. They want total freedom to exploit everything, every man, woman and child and every resource on the planet. There is no end to their greed because they are junkies for ever more “success”, their growth must never stop, the graph of their profits must go ever upward.
And the ultimate product of the capitalist class and their political facilitators... the final destination?
