IF TRUMP GETS RE-ELECTED... WHAT THEN?

If Trump gets re-elected what might the NEXT four years look like?

That leopard is not going to change his spots and prophesy is a risk game but here goes.

These are my guesses based on my reading of the man having attempted to observe him closely for these last four years.

My hackles first went up regarding Trump as U.S. president when early on he boasted of how he would devise even better methods of torturing people than waterboarding. He was apparently disabused of this idea by one of his advisers but that comment stuck with me.

Trump is no peacemaker, no idealist, no progressive and apparently has no conscience.

He is quixotic and has spoken both for and against the major issues dominating North American politics for decades. He has been both for an against abortion, both for and against both Democrats and Republicans, he was for attacking Libya (he’s on film saying “We should go in there”) but then completely denied it, he said at one point that the U.S. state would pay for medicare for all... then denied he’d ever said it. With Trump you never quite know what he’ll be for or what he’ll be against and if he’ll reverse course on a whim at any moment.

One thing we do know is that he hates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Mainstream Media.

Add in Nancy Pelosi, all Liberals, Democrat politicians and you can also probably add in quite a roster of Republicans too.

One thing Trump likes to do is achieve what he said he would in 2016.

This means:

1. The Wall
2. Replacing Obamacare
3. Making America Great Again (Whatever that means to him... if it truly does mean something to him.)
4. Improving relations with Russia.
5. Continuing to wage economic war on China.

I don’t recall if #5 was part of his campaign shtick but I threw it in there anyway.

As far as I can see Trump cares almost exclusively about Trump, has no conscience to speak of, is utterly ruthless in dealing with those he perceives as enemies and has no relationship whatsoever with ethical conduct, moral behavior or truth.

So what will he be looking to do in 2021 and the years thereafter?

I suspect he will spite all those who tried to undermine him and bring him down and out over Russia and make good on his promises in 2016 to better relations between the two countries.

This won’t be easy. Every possible barrier will be put in his way. The witch hunters and McCarthyite smearers will be working overtime. Both houses will likely try to stop him.
Mainstream media will howl. Pundits and Russophobes will be incensed. But having that ultra-thick skin of his I feel pretty confident that if he embarks on this course he’ll give as good as he gets.

This doesn’t mean he’ll relent in Syria. He loves the money he can get from Syria’s oil and the misery of the Syrian people looks set to continue. Trump recently said he had been minded to order the assassination of Assad, a good man as slandered as Putin, even more so. Once Trump has someone labeled as “evil” as “an animal” I suspect there is no reverse button on Trump’s internal DVD player. Even though Syria is Russia’s ally and Russia has spent massive amounts of blood and treasure there I suspect Trump won’t relent.

His wall? Will it get built? If Trump is re-elected it appears likely to be completed within his last term.

On Obamacare he has a much larger challenge. A complete overhaul of that looks impossible to achieve. This is one Trump may have to just grimace about and forget.

Making America Great. As usual with his relentless swagger using “positive” news when there isn’t any and in fact disastrous news if truth be told, he’ll talk as if he’s worked wonders. If the USA can get over the pandemic the economy WILL start to gradually improve... and he’ll pounce on that as indicating just how terribly wise and insightful, capable and uniquely positioned he is to achieve it. Ever the snake oil salesman and con-artist he’ll repeat those mantras so often that they almost become hypnotic, mesmeric... to some, to some tens of millions in fact.

On China he is likely to continue his war using the security issue scam as he uses now. There are signs that he may not be able to take it very much further however, though he will huff and puff as usual and do all he can. Others within the entities governing international trade law and entities within the U.S. may be able to restrain him to some degree. Can he possibly pour more money than he already has into the coffers of the military industrial complex he has just recently criticized for always wanting more war? Probably not.

Unless he has plans to become the dictator ruling the USA he clearly believes he is entitled to be there may be many policies from his first term that he’ll drop as he doesn’t need them anymore as he won’t need those votes again. In light of this he may end his belligerence against both Venezuela and Cuba. In my opinion he was only attacking them because he needs the votes of all the haters in Florida who originally came from those nations.

On Iran I am uncertain. It all depends on whether he still feels the game of supporting Israel and Saudi Arabia is still profitable for him. It’s all about him. Bolton and Mad Dog are both somewhat crazed, Bolton more than Mattis... but I am dead sure they spoke the truth about Trump, that the only thing that truly matters to Trump is Trump and what he can get out of anything he sees on the political or geopolitical skyline.

A Trump second term would be an interesting thing to see. I do think there would be differences. Risks too of course... but not of new wars I don’t think. He talks like a barroom bully but he doesn’t follow through. Look at the rhetoric he used against the leader of North Korea... then suddenly there was one heck of a bromance going on. And you will know he hasn’t started any new hot wars. economic wars yes, but in comparison with both Obama and Bush he has comparatively little blood on his hands. Of course it can be argued with just cause that his serial lying, deceiving, delay and insane suggestions that confused everything to do with the pandemic caused the loss of tens of thousands of U.S. lives.

Trump is an enigma. His characteristics label him at least as a malignant narcissist if not a full blown sociopath and socialized psychopath. That makes him dangerous but not necessary as a warmonger. Com-artists, who are all conscience-free sociopaths don’t kill or have people killed unless there’s something in it for them. Trump works solely on the basis of “What’s in it for me?” If starting a war has no benefit to him he won’t do it. he will kill individuals. he killed Soleimani and wanted to kill Assad, but I suspect a full blown war with Iran or any other nation is not on the cards with him.

Other than the above Trump will obviously have a lot on his hands. The consequences of the pandemic are going to be severe. Homelessness. Joblessness. Unaffordable healthcare for tens of millions. Then there are the inevitable riots by those who simply cannot believe this reality TV host and orange-faced, psychopathic thug managed to get reelected. Millions upon millions will be in disbelief and utter hair-tearing shock and dismay if this transpires.

And the way the polls are going it looks like it just might.
