From all Biden has said we can look forward to the restoration of the old U.S. foreign policy we experienced under presidents before Trump.
Trump’s foreign policy of course was only marginally better, choosing to starve nations to death using sanctions rather than using bombs and missiles.
Obama preferred drone assassinations, a number of them blowing entire wedding parties to bloody little pieces.
Under the presidencies of George W. Bush both sanctions, cruise missile strikes and invasion were used. Shock and Awe... followed by counter-productive invasion, occupation and the failure of nation building.
The track record of U.S. foreign policy is a brutal and bloody affair. Why then is Joe Biden clearly intending to continue to walk it?
Essentially it is due to intolerance.
The elites of the USA accompanied by those of the United Kingdom and less so by the elites of EU nations are on a crusade. (You will remember perhaps the shock and less than awe which greeted Dubya’s use of this word.)
The constant ‘crusade’ of the western elites has two primary sources.
From the perspective of U.S. elites it is intolerable to envision a future post-9/11 where they are not in the predominant position of being able to monitor, control and discipline the world outside U.S. borders. They can conceive of no future which does not ensure total U.S. security and they are willing to countenance any measure which ensure this security.
The second source, which is intimately connected to the first, is that the western world as a whole and primarily its two main ‘fixers’ and ‘enforcers’, the USA and UK are losing dominance economically. These two nations are fast losing their combined status as global police, judge, jury and executioner.
Western elites are in a state of panic due to the two issues above and the factors which mitigate against their long-held status of supreme dominance. This dominance has been slowly fading in recent decades with the illegal wars in the Middle East being the final brutal demonstrations of their sovereign power over our world. These abject failures with their enormous expenditure of both blood and treasure which only made the problems they sought to solve much worse, have shown them just how impotent they now are.
Biden shows every sign of following the cheaper path of heightening international warfare by other means using rhetoric, propaganda and economic power. It is clear he will move to ensure those who took part in Bush’s coalition of the killing group tighter together than ever before. Together they will attempt to exert maximum pressure using rhetorical, propagandist and economic means in a renewed attempt at weakening their “enemies”.
The “enemies” are of course the same old “enemies” of past administrations, Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Syria and Iran.
Biden will use diplomacy not as a means to find agreement with these “enemies” but as a way to weaponize U.S. allies into undermining them by all means deemed necessary short of outright war.
Regarding all “enemies”, these will be demonized and where possible excluded from the so-called ‘International Community’ that will be raised to communal sainthood as the “Free Nations” within “The Free World”. The demonized will be “The Enemies of the Free World”. Once thoroughly and constantly demonized they will be fair game to be insulted, slandered, excluded and undermined using all possible fake news, false facts, false flag events with the complicit assistance of the West’s NGOs such as Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, the OECD and all others. Western mass media will comply with alacrity, chief of these being CNN and BBC on the world stage.
Until China fully eclipses the West’s economic power there will be no let up in this new push for supreme power. I estimate this will take something around five years more to become fully evident. Covid-19 has rendered both the USA and UK subject to severe economic decline and these two protagonists and primary instigators of world threat and terror fully deserve this karmic reward for their malignant empires as they crumble before their very eyes.
Until then we will see Biden rehearse once more the usual puffed up parading of so-called western values, we will hear the familiar semantic constructs he has rehashed from every U.S. regime since Reagan, the usual self-admiration, the usual self-interested mechanisms, the predictable lies dressed up in the same old delusional exceptionalism.
It’s going to be nothing new. Just a slimmed down version of American belligerence we’ve seen time and time again down the years with a slight pause for Trump. The West’s war is on again... for a while... until it runs COMPLETELY out of steam. Left dwelling on its past “glorious” upon its complete eclipse by China and those aligned in opposition to the western evil empire.
Until then... expect to hear a lot of increasingly hot air and increasingly impotent provocations from Biden’s noisy neocon army and their "new" crusade.
