JUST SUPPOSING...

Just suppose a non-politician became the president of the United States and was minded to revolutionize its inner elites who had held power forever.

He might call that inner sanctum ‘The Swamp’.

Among other revolutionary concepts in the eyes of the existing liberal elite he might ask why NATO still exists and what its purpose is now.

He might question the amount of blood and treasure being spent interfering in lands far away when the result is always a worse situation for them and vast losses and the misery of bereavement for those at home.

This same person might doubt what the intelligence services of the United States said. He might feel the CIA, NSA, FBI and others are not trustworthy.

Just supposing this person was of a naturally irascible nature and didn’t take kindly to being attacked, unfairly as he saw it, might he begin to get irate and might people watching get the impression that he was somewhat overly defensive and unnecessarily rude? Supposing he began to exaggerate his claims in what appeared to be blatant lies? 

 He might attack a mainstream media that was reacting in shock to his very presence and things he said by mounting a campaign to denigrate everything he said, did or implied.

The intelligence agencies who felt attacked, undermined and denigrated by such a president might be minded to join with mass media in an attempt to destroy such a person, no?

And might that person become so angry with all those attacking him that he began to sound highly irrational, unused as he was to the political dog-eat-dog world whereas in the world of business he was used to only being treated with respect?

And might all the expertise used to destabilize other nations first with a campaign of demonizing its leader then engaging in a full-on regime change op against him also be deployed internally?

What if he was finally hauled down from office by all the members of the inner elites he had come to topple who would then be safe to carry on as before with their CIA and NSA surveillance intact, their donations from corporations safe, and their ability to carry out foreign wars with impunity secured in perpetuity?

Just supposing...
