WE WISH YOU TO BE WISE

Western elites are now progressively having a tough time getting their own way. They are less and less trusted.

They’ve been caught lying too many times.

Too many times they’ve manipulated their own, duping them into agreeing to mass murder overseas, to homegrown spying and excuses for why they must cater to corporations not citizens.

The process of mistrust in politicians has been underway for several decades now. With the regime change wars of choice in the Middle East after 9/11 the situation reached a nadir... but has found even deeper levels since that time.

And the regime change wars go on and on of course...

The cynicism is now at peak levels and has arrived there just as a) the coronavirus arrived, and b) the result of the U.S. presidential election came into dispute.

On a) the coronavirus, both the UK and USA are in constant turmoil with conflicting advice from their governments that are in any case not trusted.

On b) the corrosive division between the two primary political factions of what Noam Chomsky calls ‘The Business Party’, a low level civil war has broken out due to the lack of trust on both sides.

Outside of this melee of hot-headed emotion, mistrust and alternate facts we have a still, as yet relatively small grouping of those who have wised up beyond the arena of highly partisan political warfare they see all around them. They have also seen through the misinformation and misdirections of their elites.

These are the progressive independents who have by whatever set of circumstances been able to hold obscuring elite narratives and violently partisan emotions at bay while they looked for more fundamental realities regarding the path to here, what is truly here and possible ways forward.

I would differentiate these relatively few wise from the merely ‘woke’. There is a world of difference under the facile resemblance one to another that exists merely on the surface of minds still largely asleep.

Those who have wised up are no longer subject to the same degree of control regarding their intellects and emotions that they merely ‘woke’ are still subject to. They are not inclined to suffer any knee jerk reactions but using their hard won insight from a dedication to looking deeper and for longer they can pinpoint truth and falsity much more accurately than those newly woken to some surface manifestations.

It is not certain that the relatively few in number I speak of will grow in sufficient numbers to affect any of the fundamental changes that are so obviously needed in this age of disunity, chaos and manipulative narratives with their attendant agendas. To become wiser and join this select grouping you need certain mental characteristics whose genesis remain a mystery. Those reading this will recognize this in themselves. You simply ARE that way. It is not a pose, it is not something that you can create in any other persons, there is no act or special ability except perhaps to be able to provide clues to others by your way of being and communicating... the content being crucial.

Naturally the vast majority of us would wish that everyone wise up so we can all live lives not tortured by the insanity we see mounting almost everywhere... wars, enmity, division, mistrust, envy, hate... everything we absolutely do not need at this time when, in the face of mounting future threats, we need unity, trust, understanding and agreement like never before. But how to achieve these things when the majority seems intent on tearing each other apart?

I have no easy answers. Those of us who have the benefit of being able to stand outside the fray mourn the world we have envisaged for so long receding, not approaching. We see that the present and continuing chaos is being fomented by ignorance, lack of imaginative insight and the seemingly eternal divisions between political ambitions.

We would wish there could be a recognition of our species as the astronauts in the International Space Station see us, as a unity, as the best of Hollywood ultimately portrays us, as decent human beings who win out over all that threatens us. We would wish our politicians to come together and effect the solutions we see clearly would bring better conditions for all... instead of retreating constantly from those solutions in favor of  more war, more division, more mistrust and more worldwide chaos. They disappoint us. They infuriate us. They make us ineffably sad. We cannot understand why, in this modern era of so many technical solutions and endless wealth you cannot seem to use all this incredible bounty to do the most obvious things that would make life so much better for all.
