THE FIXED NATURE OF WESTERN ELITE "THOUGHT" ON UKRAINE IS DISASTROUS

The level of intellectual unwillingness of those in the West who consider only their own interests (and achievements) in respect of nations not bowing to their commands, is 99.99% complete. There is a near complete unwillingness to see things from the point of view of those nations who wish to assert their independence from the insistence of western domination and instead focus on their own strategic interests. Even discussing their concerns in the abstract is anathema, tantamount to indicating approval. As long as this blind obedience to solely western concerns and interests prevails our world will run headlong toward disaster. 

Those elites who comprise western power desperately need to shuck off their mythologies about being all-powerful, all-knowing and saintly in every respect. The birth of a multipolar world is already in progress. The West's attempts now to kill that birth can only bring permanent bloodshed to our world and its possible permanent descent into levels of poverty, misery, strife and chaos not seen for generations.

There is a complete unwillingness to look at the events which took place in Ukraine during the winter months of 2013-14 where the previous democratically-elected president and government were unseated and replaced by U.S. and EU approved substitutes. Instead, western populations are expected to believe that ground zero for Russia’s “unprovoked” attack upon and invasion of Ukraine is February 24th 2022. This inability to look at all the facts and to instead stick rigidly to narratives which paint Russia in uniformly negative terms and those in control of Ukraine in wholly positive terms makes true reasoning of anything approaching a realistic assessment of where we are now totally impossible.

The ‘war mode’ mentality of constant demonisation while painting one side as wholly bad and the other as wholly good precludes any form of dialogue between the sides and makes certain that the only permanent solution will come from the battlefield where one side or the other wins and the other capitulates. Where a nuclear power is involved this type of myopia inflicted upon all western elites across both political and media spheres is disastrous as it cannot help but lead to every greater escalation with its attendant mass death and destruction.

No willingness to escape from the mentality described above can be detected in the West. While Russia urged negotiations from the start in 2014-15 which eventuated in the Minsk Agreements meant to provide security for the Russian-speaking population of eastern Ukraine (within the region known as the Donbass). It has become clear recently that the efforts of the western allies and successive Ukrainian regimes were not to achieve anything approaching peace, reconciliation through greater autonomy for the people of the Donbass via the Minsk Accords but instead to buy time to build Ukraine’s military forces in order to subjugate them by force.

Russia was left with not a single good option except the one it took. All efforts made to insure that a peaceful path was taken to resolve the situation prevailing in the Donbass where the Ukrainian army and associated militants were constantly shelling the civilian population of the Donbass, were at an end. The current president of Ukraine was even talking of re-establishing Ukraine’s nuclear status. This while the shelling of the civilians within the Donbass steadily increased throughout January and early February 2022 (as registered by the OSCE - Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) and the military presence surrounding the Donbass was increased and its armaments strengthened by NATO and all European powers in association with the USA and UK.

It should be noted that none of the above features in any discourse or commentary across the entire width and breadth of western mass media or within the western political sphere. Instead of this a wide selection of entirely one-sided mythologies have been constantly cooked up by western intelligence agencies and compliantly transferred to the western public mind via its mass media. This is conditioning at its most insidious, using blatant propaganda and all-pervasive brainwashing to elicit consent to policies which, if followed to their ultimate conclusion, cannot help but bring about the deaths of millions. This of course unless at some point the awful truth is acknowledged, that the West is not stainless and pure and has manipulated situations which have brought this ongoing disaster into being and that the time has come to acknowledge ALL the realities involved, including most crucially, that of the Russians.

If the recognition of both sides does not come soon then it is clear that many thousands, perhaps tens of thousands must die due to its absence and the absence of sensible negotiations that could provide a route to an eventual peace.
