HOW WE BECAME A PRISON PLANET (A SPECULATIVE FICTION)

It appeared that Russia would overcome everything the western leaders put in its way in terms of weaponry and munitions sent to the Ukrainian regime, along with the massive intelligence data supplied. Russian resources in all departments appeared destined to reverse all possible setbacks. With the ultimate failure of the Ukrainian military’s counteroffensive in the summer of 2023 the conflict appeared to be all but over. On the final collapse of the counteroffensive Russia mounted its own after a brief pause of ten days. Russian troops surged forward taking all before them as Ukrainians troops either took flight or surrendered. It seemed all over. Russia had surely won.

If not for the plan that had factored in such an outcome. It had long been clearly seen in Washington, Langley, Brussels and London that Ukraine’s counteroffensive was doomed to failure. Politically however, it could not be called off. Innumerable factors concerned primarily with morale and the risk of a catastrophic loss of nerve across western elites made its suicidal push beyond the reach of normal military logic and tactics. The outcome was inevitable and had long been planned for. Now the plan was put swiftly into operation.

Polish forces, long prepared, entered western Ukraine in great numbers, numbers boosted by NATO forces ‘sheepdipped’ to look identical to their Polish comrades and thousands of Ukrainian commandos given recent training in Britain. In the hours before, Kiev announced that Ukraine and Poland had agreed and signed a document to the effect that, from midnight, a political union between the two nations would exist and that a mutual defence pact was included as a vital component of their agreement. The announcement laid the path for all the actions which then ensued including the arrival of the military force that then entered the country.

In response to the above a large convoy of primarily Wagner Group forces entered Ukraine from Belarus with the intent to attack the forces entering from Poland. This had long been talked of and was the expected response from the Russian/Belarusian side. In those initial hours it was widely expected also that a massive conflict between these two forces would ensue. This however, would not take place. The devastating missile attack upon the Wagner forces from all nearby NATO nations was initiated in tandem with the official notification from NATO headquarters that Ukraine, in its new combined state with Poland, was now considered a full member of NATO and as such Article 5 protection required NATO states to act accordingly.

All of the above had of course been planned meticulously and was carried out precisely. The Wagner forces were stopped in their tracks. As were the Russian forces who had been rapidly advancing toward the Dnieper. These developments required some breathing space to consider the consequences of further military action by the Russian Federation. As the call to suspend all military activity except that of a defensive nature came from the Kremlin a statement emerged almost simultaneously from the White House. This called for a general ceasefire and for negotiations to take place. It appeared finally that the western powers were acknowledging that it was recognised by them that there could be no further talk of Ukraine “winning” and that Washington would conduct the talks directly with Russia.

Now the Kremlin was faced with a dilemma. Continue to take territory up to the banks of the Dnieper, as well as its advance toward both Odessa and Kharkov, or suspend all such operations and accept the offer of a ceasefire and talks. A temporary suspension of operations was agreed by both sides. This would last 48 hours to enable consideration of all factors involved and a decision come to on the way forward.

The world held its breath as virtual silence ensued. Speculation was rife, myriad opinions were expressed and advice given by innumerable commentators on both sides. All counted down the hours in expectant anticipation of the most crucial decision yet made in the 16 month old conflict.

Russia had much to consider. The failure of the Wagner gambit and the announcement that the combined Polish-Ukrainian state was now considered to be within NATO and under protection of all other NATO states made the risks of continuing its military offensive extremely risky. But it had been clear for some time that if Russia failed to deliver a knock-out blow to Ukraine through total victory it could not be at all sure of attaining all its war aims. Western Ukraine beyond the Dnieper and also those areas Russia had yet to liberate such as Odessa and Kharkov would continue to put Russian security at risk.

When the 48 hour ceasefire period came to an end Russia gave her answer. Its advances toward the Dnieper, Odessa and Kharkov would continue. The statement issued by the Kremlin was clear, Russia was faced with an existential threat from NATO via the continued aggressive nature of the Kiev regime and that any negotiated settlement now would most likely leave territories and powers in place within Ukraine that would continue to threaten Russia.

It was then that the war was concluded with an all-out missile attack on all Russian forces across the battle lines by a long-planned sustained attack lasting twelve days during which not one single hour saw the absence of an attack. Shock and Awe had emerged once again to totally devastate the Russian forced who had been precisely located across multiple satellite systems for months. The never before experienced extent of the missile attacks which took place wreaked havoc among the Russian forces with tens of thousands dying and thousands of vehicles and emplacements destroyed. NATO had taken its revenge.

After this deluge of devastating power the White House issued an ultimatum. Russia would now engage in negotiations or the attacks would be ramped up to even greater extent for a minimum of yet another twelve day period. In Russia it had become clear that there was no other way forward… except for one ultimate option, the use of one or more nuclear strikes.

Again the world held its breath.

Would it see the first use of a nuclear weapon in battle since Hiroshima and Nagasaki… or would Russia back down and agree to negotiations?

TWELVE YEARS LATER

As far as the leadership of the USA and its allies were concerned the world had become a far more peaceful place. The Russian bear had been put back in its cage with guards surrounding it. China, having been abandoned by all the nations of Eurasia, Asia and the global south including Africa, was also tamed. Above them all the western allies had set a ‘Universal Monitor Proactive Engagement System’ in place. Worldwide Security had become the purview of all within the U.S. orbit as a logical expansion of Homeland Security for the USA. None of the resurgent masters of the world would allow any further subversion of the newly asserted liberal world order now established. Monitoring from near space would ensure this for the good of all posterity.

The ‘Universal Monitor Proactive Engagement System’ (UMPRO) had the goal of detecting every nascent threat worldwide through its vast and ever more effective data collection capacity. The world would be made safe against the instability that might emerge from anti-American and anti-European thought. All speech and deeds considered potentially harmful were at ever-deeper levels identified and flagged for ‘restorative action’. No risk to the established order remained free to grow. Once identified and flagged they would be remedied. Particular attention to the emergence of counter-value circumstances in China and Russia had remained the rule since UMPRO’s initiation.

The populations of the entire world were now free to live in the knowledge that stability would be rigorously enforced under the gaze of the benevolent western warders that now stood guard over them 24 hours per day 365 days per year.

The now established world order was set in stone to remain in perpetuity.

And woe betide those who talked of this new time of restored order in terms of a prison planet.

They were not long for this earth and would be silenced within an ever-shortening time span.

The security of the world was far, far too important to allow any danger to its orderly existence to exist. Those who threatened this new world’s order would most certainly suffer the consequences of their anti-state activities within the full extent of the law. Their vilification through the naming and shaming program and subsequent incarceration would provide a much-needed lesson to all others seeking such infamous notoriety.

WESTERN WARHAWKS ARE STEADILY DESTROYING THEIR OWN NATIONS

A small group of neoconservative fanatics who gained power in the days and weeks after 9/11 have led the political elites of the western world by the nose into a series of catastrophic decisions.

The breast beating after 9/11 had predictable consequences which the short-termism of the time created communal blindness to. All attention was placed on the perceived necessity to strike back hard to show America’s enemies that they would experience the justice coming to them for their unconscionable act.

The world by and large stood with America in the period after 9/11/ Very few voices uttered warnings concerning the long-term dangers of the approach that was quite obviously to be taken. America was to strike out at its enemies and would do so with no holds barred. Any and all possible weapons were to be used and no limits would be set. Limits would only hinder the goal to wipe out all those who wished America harm.

The approach taken by ‘The War on Terror’ would be violent in the extreme and would hardly to any extent observe any laws, either those regarded as international in nature regarding the sovereignty of nations or those regarding ethical conduct in time of war. The political elites of the USA, now fully in the grip of neoconservative warhawks, began disregarding national boundaries and the sovereignty of nations, rendition and torture became commonplace alongside the use of drone violence when full scale invasion was not initiated.

In the period talked of above Russia was still extremely weak following the collapse of the Soviet Union and in addition was minded to assist the USA in its determination to punish the Taliban of Afghanistan for harbouring and refusing to give up Osama bin Laden. When it came to Iraq Russia’s line became harder but consisted only of words and an attempt to block the US/UK attempt to initiate a war against Iraq at the United Nations. In the later case of Libya the same rather ineffective approach was again taken by Russia but without the help of France which had previously also stood against the Iraq war.

When it came to the US intervention in Syria through the use of proxy forces, assisted by several other states in proximity to Syria such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar Russia was finally in a position to object with more than words. It took four years of watching the situation in Syria deteriorate with its president and army almost ready to fall and a caliphate emerge in Syria, that Russia became militarily engaged. This crucial engagement turned the situation entirely around and the plans of the USA and its allies were thwarted.

The warhawks in Washington remained in command throughout the various wars of choice that the USA fought alongside its allies in the ‘Coalition of the Willing’. They remain there to this day and nothing short of some almost unimaginable political revolution will unseat them. We saw this during the Trump presidency when several of them were picked for some of the highest positions of government, people such as John Bolton, Mike Pompeo and Elliot Abrams. The latter in fact an admitted war criminal due to his use of the Contra guerrillas in Nicaragua. (Abrams by the way has, in the last few days, been tapped by Joe Biden for an important position in Washington.)

It is the influence of the neoconservative warhawks that we see playing out today. They have only one way of thinking and only one playbook regarding how American foreign policy ought to be conducted. That is, with utmost aggression and relentless opposition using all possible means and where diplomacy features not at all. We see now, with the Ukrainian counteroffensive failing, the ultimate end point of the entire process that began in the days and weeks after 9/11. And that process is not leading to ‘The New American Century’ as its warhawk zealots fervently believed but to the relatively dissolution of western power leading ultimately to its almost complete impotence.

Russia was targeted as the next big regime change operation. The concepts the neoconservatives held onto in their hearts and minds informed them incorrectly that Russia remained weak. Their hatred of Putin and Russia for ruining their Syrian project blinded them to all else. Putin and Russia must be gunned down using the same mindset and playbook as before (naturally so as they have NO OTHER mindset nor playbook). This was the greatest miscalculation of our age and the miscalculation that will clearly bring the entire edifice of their hateful dreams crashing down.

The nations of the global south including those across Africa and Latin America are turning away from western powers and linking themselves to others who promise a different world entirely to that advocated by those in the West. One of the most obvious changes in stance has come from Saudi Arabia, long the staunchest ally of the western powers, particularly of the USA and UK. In a startling development of recent months ever more nations are drifting away from the western orbit and are looking toward allies closer to home. The BRICS group now has close to forty applicants who wish to be members or closely associated with it, Russia and China being the most prominent driving forces within it.

In economic terms alone, the small coterie of neoconservative warhawks and their political prisoners in both the USA and Europe, have delivered a mortal blow to their populations. And this while pouring seemingly endless sums into the black hole of Ukraine, a Ukraine delivered into a catastrophic mess due directly to the actions of these warhawks over the years up to and including 2014. And again, of course, the fixed mindset of unlimited (and myopically blind) aggression within the usual (and unchangeable) playbook has delivered their new disaster, a disaster that will prove even greater than that of Afghanistan where the post 9/11 project began.

The western world is headed down a vicious spiral where no end is apparently contemplated to the policies that have led here. The policies remain almost totally unquestioned except at the extreme margins that are excluded from any mainstream discussion. The reality of the present utterly disastrous situation for the West is overlaid by the delusions, fantasy, rabid wishful thinking and downright lies born of chronic, long-term myopia due to goals set after 9/11 that simply CANNOT be questioned. The goals that are informed only by the mindset of neoconservative war hawks who remain standing guard over them refusing at pain of death to anyone who tries in any way to question them let alone change them in any way.

So we see the western world blindly heading over the geopolitical, financial, social and economic cliff they are speeding toward, blinkers held tight to their eyes and with their ears firmly closed to all else but the screams to only ever go forward and do ever more of the same that has led them, their political prisoners and populations, to the catastrophic, misery-inducing, deeply humiliating and unrecoverable disaster that quite clearly faces them now.

WHAT KIND OF HIDEOUSLY CORRUPT POLITICIANS RUN THE WESTERN WORLD?

It is difficult to know where to start in answering the question above. The reason why this is such a difficult question to answer in short form is due to the fact that there is almost no policy over which any of these politicians preside that is either appropriate, well intentioned or well applied.

The only thing these incompetent people seem to do is make existing problems much worse while recklessly lying about them and pouring money down various drains in response to them. The combination of criminality, deceit, corruption and incompetence is a deadly one and it is destroying the western world. All the while this is going on its citizens appear largely benumbed or drug-dazed into a kind of stupor about the collapse in their countries and the seemingly braindead/thug-like, airheaded political elites who run them.  

It is not simply Joe Biden in the USA who is perpetrating these gross acts of criminality and incompetence. It is also his allied numbskulls in Europe that appear tied to that nation like hapless victims falling together in chains off a sinking ship. Political lifeboats are there for their use… but they seem totally blinded to their existence by dire hallucinations that permeate all their brains.

That common hallucination they all share is Ukraine in all its opaque manifestations as perceived in the deluded/demented minds of the western elites. They avoid like the plague anything resembling the truth about that land. An entire fake scenario of desired realities is being constantly thrown up about Ukraine, a facade consisting of wishful thinking and politically necessary factoids that just might give some positive spin to their political futures.

The dysfunctional approach described above has all the characteristics of a mental ailment where chronic lying has taken over step by step until it has become habitual if not fully resembling an addictive state. 

Political spin has grown over the years from slight manipulations of fact to ever greater proportions of downright deceit. In the case of Ukraine the spin is at absolute maximum. The degree to which the U.S. Department of Defence resembles the ‘Ministry of Truth’ in George Orwell’s classic novel, ‘1984’, is astonishing. For those who have not read the book the ‘Ministry of Truth’ in the book deals in wholesale fabrications and lies. 

It is quite breathtaking to see the extent to which the level of integrity, such as it has been within the western political sphere, has plummeted in recent years. Of course sticking to the truth was never quite seen as necessary in the debating societies out of which many western politicians have emerged in recent times. Embroidering the facts has long been the practice of those who sought to win the argument as their priority rather than framing the facts to most closely approximate reality. But now, the very raw nature of the outright lying and consistent broadcasting of those lies by each and every minion below the upper echelons is jaw-dropping.

Nothing being currently said by Joe Biden or those closest to him can be said to be worth a damn. In fact you can take each statement and reverse it to approximate the facts. They play their parts with scripts written by fantasists who aim constantly to dupe western populations, to condition their minds with falsity and render them into a stupified zombie state of controlled idiocy.

Biden, a political thug his entire life went into full on criminal mode regarding Ukraine when responsibility for it was given to him by Obama. Some of his criminal dealings in Ukraine are already known and many more appear ready to explode onto the western public consciousness. That is if western mainstream media is not similarly, indeed identically affected by the criminality and deviousness of the politicians it now serves rather than western populations.

The USA is now run by and for a politico-corporate entity sometimes posing as headed by politicians and at other times by directors of corporations within the military industrial complex. The policies they agree are virtually all designed to benefit the two halves of the same criminal and corrupt entity. One hand washes the other, while those they pretend to serve go completely unattended to, unwashed and seemingly unwanted. Politics in the USA has become a dirty thing run like a Mafia gang where billions in income pays for PR executives to snow the marks effectively so they stay unaware of how well and often they are being shafted.

Ukraine is just the latest scam that the politico-corporate entity above has foisted on the people of the USA and which has been assisted by their proxies in the UK and Europe. It is nothing more than a money-laundering scam combined with a ploy to extricate the top Mafia boss by the name of Biden from the ticking time bomb of his criminal enterprises there. Biden appears happy to wipe Ukraine off the map and with it all record of the criminal dealings of himself and his vile-natured son there. At this point these two crooks, through the office of the presidency, have infected the entire western world with their corruption.  

Millions across the western world will now suffer for at least a generation as the totally self-interested politico-corporate elites attempt to cover their asses at their massive cost. Hundreds of thousands in Ukraine have already died to do so and with no end in sight to western corruption and criminality it appears hundreds of thousands more are destined to die in future. There appears to be zero desire to end the conflict in Ukraine until the goals of the politico-corporate elite have ground that country into the dirt and massively impoverished Europe as a result. American has become first at last, first criminal in a line of many such degenerates stretching right across the western world. Criminal, corrupt and incompetent. A devastating combination that can only be answered, solved and healed by western populations rising up and ejecting every last one these criminals and sociopaths from office as soon as humanly possible. 

THE DOMINO EFFECT OF UKRAINE’S COMING DEFEAT WILL SHAKE ALL WESTERN ELITES

The fall of the Kiev regime that follows closely on the coming defeat of its military forces in the Donbass region will hardly mark the last collapse associated with the enormous mistake the western powers have made through pushing Russia into war with Ukraine.

It is rapidly becoming clear that the Ukrainian people are itching to bring down Zelensky and all his minions. A recent poll conducted by one of George Soros’ many groupings has found that Ukrainians both within the country and outside it by an extremely high percentage agree with the Russian description of the causes of the conflict and NOT with those of their so-called president or the leaders of the western world. Just as soon as they get the chance to exercise their votes the Ukrainian people will ensure that the Zelensky dictatorship and his so-called government will be gone and at the very least a neutral, if not outright pro-Russian president and government, will take their place.

Ukraine will then very quickly become a neutral buffer state between Russia and those that seek to weaken it and split it into controllable parts.

The end of extremist Ukraine will signal the fall of many others across the western world that sought to use it as a tool to undermine Russia. National leaders in the USA, Germany, France and many others will fall in quick succession.

In addition to the politicians who fomented war against Russia via Ukraine there are others who will surely find their reputations severely damaged if not brought crashing down to nought within the media field. The most prestigious titles and channels with the highest numbers of readers and viewers have consistently lied and embroidered the facts, skewing them to such a degree that the result has been a deeply conditioned population within the western world and its allies.

The level of humiliation and teeth-grinding angst resulting from the collapse of the anti-Russian project and the continual rise of Russia in economic terms as well as influence across the Global South and beyond will be enormous. Of course, as with the perpetrators of the crimes against humanity and their attendant lies regarding Iraq, Libya and Syria, no trials will take place. All will be swept under a very bloody carpet as usual. Like Blair and Bush the politicians and editors involved will write their memoirs explaining how they were right to do as they did and how others failed to do the right thing. We all know the drill by now.

But heads WILL roll and behind closed doors all will be known and you can be sure future historians will place blame where it is deserved. One of those who will be held chiefly responsible will be the current president of the USA, Joe Biden. The level of criminality and corruption to be revealed in his case will be truly breathtaking. Along with Biden a host of others in high places will be seen to have acted in the most disgustingly dishonest way imaginable, bringing the entire panoply of elite western life into total disrepute.

The level of change that will occur as a result of the coming collapse of the West’s pet Ukrainian project will be profound. An entire generation of misbegotten politicians will be swept away, lucky not to be tarred and feathered or strung up on the nearest lamp post on their exit. Public faith in politicians, already at an almost impossibly low ebb will fall even further. Only certain figures who have shown their capacity to communicate truthfully will be found at that point to provide an example for all those who follow. Sickened by the lies that have been told across the western world for so long now one man in particular will be held as the example for all politicians to come.

The man who is already extremely highly respected by those in the know and those who know all too well the capacity for dishonesty among the western political and media elites, is Russian president Vladimir Putin. The most frequent and biggest lies of all have been reserved for him. These lies have been told in gushing waterfalls ever since a speech he made in February of 2007 in Munich. Though many will scoff, secure in their belief Vladimir Putin is all that he has been called, these poor wretches will ultimately be seen as the most humiliated and conditioned dupes of all, true victims of the liars who have run the western world for two decades and more now.

Bob Dylan is famous for a particular song he wrote and sang in the Sixties by the name of ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’. A more appropriate anthem for the aftermath of the disgraceful years that the collective west has experienced would be difficult to find. A bonfire of the vanities is about to occur. A searing liquidation of all the political and media liars is coming. Well known names will be made to hang their heads in shame and at least a few of them will admit to their crimes that have cost so many their lives, Ukrainians and Russians both.

Peace was possible. The callous and terminally cynical and dishonest politicians of the western world in league with their mainstream broadcasters and most well known newspaper titles should by rights be put on trial and given the harshest possible sentences for their part in the mass murder that has continued since 2014 in Ukraine and which they seek to continue as this commentary is written. They will receive their comeuppance even if it is not to the fullest degree that they deserve, but it IS coming.

THE THREE REASONS YOU SHOULD WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE OF ALL OF US

The world is on course toward disaster due to the blind arrogance and stupidity of western and Ukrainian elites that takes the form of total insistence upon unattainable goals.

The goals in question cannot be questioned, that is the essence of the danger we all find ourselves in now.

First Reason to Worry - Goal 1

The goal of the neoconservatives who took over all positions of importance after 9/11 is to transform the rest of the world, whether it likes it or not, into a mirror image of the USA, subservient to the USA and therefore of no danger to the USA. This goal cannot be questioned, is set in stone, never to be amended until it has been fulfilled 100%.

Second Reason to Worry - Goal 2

The goal of the extremists in Ukraine (backed by the USA/UK/EU) who took over all positions of importance after the coup there in 2014 have the goal of defeating and destroying Russia, a goal supported by the neocons in Goal 1. This goal, like Goal 1 cannot be questioned, is equally sacrosanct and never to be withdrawn from.

Third Reason to Worry - Goal 3

The goal of the Ukrainian military, as explained by its commander in chief, Valerii Fedorovych Zaluzhnyi, is to strike Russia and kill as many Russians as he likes and he doesn’t care who objects, including any of us who may be wiped out by the very likely nuclear war that then ensues.

What is it that unites all those involved in each of the three goals above?

It is their denial of any alternative to their chosen path. No other means is foreseen by them due to the tunnel vision they all suffer from and through which they cannot help but make the entire world suffer.

These people see diplomacy as a barrier and delaying tactic that will make their goals harder to achieve and set their achievement further back in time. True dialogue they see as a waste of time and instead use every underhand tactic in the book to bring their goal closer to achievement. They have the psychopath’s confidence in self and complete lack of empathy for all others. They are driven men and women who have no time for common sense compromises or the logic of coming to an agreement. For each and every one of them it is all or nothing and always has been.

They would rather see no world at all than a world where their goals cannot be achieved.

And this final characteristic without doubt common to each and every one of them should be the factor worrying every one of you the most.

AMERICA IS “BORED BY” THE UKRAINE WAR… AND MOST PROBABLY BY *ALL* AMERICA’S WARS

If you use Twitter you may have noticed that the North American listing of hot topics has one notable absence among the sport, celebrity and scandal memes… that of Ukraine or Russia.

Young America in particular is no longer very interested in far flung nations and their politicians’ obsession with instigating wars in them. The U.S. Army also struggles to recruit more young Americans to fight them. What does it all mean?

Perhaps the ‘shoot ‘em up’ and ‘car chase’ movies that Hollywood constantly churns out slake the thirst for violence and an adrenaline rush. Online gaming provides a real enough experience of warfare without real blood and guts spoiling the enjoyment? Or, could it just possibly be that the new, mobile phone obsessive couch-potato generation don’t see any reason to have their day spoiled by too many reminders of reality? Perhaps they are also rather too self-obsessed and cowardly, pampered and even drug-addled to care for actual conflict.

And the old hands, the oldies, those who suffered through the indignities, death, destruction and ultimate humiliation of either Vietnam or Afghanistan know what a scam America’s wars are, They had their buttons pushed regarding ‘patriotism’, ‘defending America’ and all that PR bullshit that entice them to wage war and regretted every moment since, disabused with the idea that they are the ‘shining white knights’, the ultimate ‘good guys’ and defenders of ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy’. They are now the most cynical generation America has ever known and their motto is most certainly “Fuck no, I won’t go!” And certainly fewer and fewer Americans are going to enlist. Why? Because ‘The Big One’ may be coming.

World War Three is a very real prospect and in fact we are already within it in Ukraine. The USA is at war with Russia just as most NATO nations across Europe are at war with Russia. Is anyone fooled by the protestations by U.S. and European politicians and heads of state that they are not? Would you join up at this moment of time? Only if you were on a slow-burn suicide mission or found that psychiatry couldn’t cure your rampant masochism. The mushroom clouds could appear on the horizon or closer any day now. That rush of wind may not be what it appears. That burning sensation all over your body may not be caused by some temporary allergy. Death is permanent, as far as anyone knows and those who wish to extend their time here in a corporeal existence are avoiding war in any of its aspects except the virtual.

Look in vain for interest in the conflict in Ukraine. It’s like a sequel to Americans, a poor second, third or fourth best in a series of bad movies in which America gets its ass handed to it and is whipped to utter humiliation. Delight in watching ‘ragheads’ get stomped on, having their doors kicked in and screaming “Kill ‘em all, let God sort them out!” has waned. The final scenes where the last helicopter leaves the U.S. embassy in Saigon or frantic humans jump onto the undercarriage of planes leaving Kabul airport or blackened husks of U.S. officials hang from wires in Tripoli have caused many to switch off and who can blame them?

Most Americans are well aware how these wars go now. No amount of beer, french fries or even cocaine can convince them that they make good entertainment any more. Photos of Guantanamo camp, of coffins draped with the Stars and Stripes coming of transport planes in their dozens have soured the experience for these hedonistic young men. They now seek more reliable (and far safer) sources of intensity, orgasmic pleasure and pumped up, adrenaline pleasure. You may have even seen some of them where this can hardly be said to have worked out for them,in images of the new zombies, slumped motionless on the streets of Philadephia or hundreds of other North American streets, reduced to living statues by Fenatyl or the latest mental bomb of choice, Xylazine.

Whatever Americans are doing these days, chasing wealth in Wall Street casinos or Las Vegas, experiencing drive-by shootings, indulging in the porn industry in one form or another, getting out of their heads on alcohol or illegal drugs, screaming about shape-shifting aliens or involving themselves in weird cults, born again idiocy and even weirder woke head games, there is one thing they are very definitely not into, not interested in and scrupulously avoiding any involvement in, and that is the precursor to Armageddon now occurring in Ukraine.

WHERE DOES UKRAINE GO FROM HERE?

Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander in Chief of the Ukrainian Military told anyone who would listen that fielding a counteroffensive with virtually no air cover for his troops, facing a Russian army well dug in, and with many times more artillery and air superiority for its planes and helicopter gunships, was a grave mistake.

No one of any importance appears to have been listening. The Ukrainian counteroffensive is more of a suicide operation than anything else. To call it a dud and ineffectual doesn’t do it justice, the regime’s leader, Zelensky, pushed by his western sponsors created a killing field for his own countrymen. Does that seem to faze him any? It appears not. Hie sole concern appears to be how to generate the next media appearance in which he features as a superhero.

How do the Ukrainian people of western Ukraine, who voted for him in their millions as the peace candidate dedicated to coming to a settlement with Russia, feel about the war that the US/UK/EU/NATO say needs to continue? Apparently there are now protests in western Ukraine due to the graveyards being too limited in size to deal with all the corpses arriving from the front. Yet look for any dismay in Zelensky’s face as he flies here and there hob-nobbing with various nations’ elites. He seems to be doing just fine.

Zaluzhnyi disappeared from view for a couple of weeks recently before popping up again very briefly. Were certain actors in this tragedy attempting to make him shut the ‘f’ up and convince him to toe Zelensky’s line that Ukraine was going to teach the Russians a lesson and have his “glorious” army break through their lines to reach the Azov Sea? Or just to shut up if he refused to do the latter. Seemingly he didn’t quite get the message as he gave his views once again to the Wall Street Journal. Perhaps he will vanish from you once again for a while… or perhaps even forever.

It has been reported for six months and more that Zaluzhnyi and Zelensky almost never see eye to eye with Zelensky always having the final say and getting his way. By the way, the latest report from the Russian Ministry of Defence states that since the Ukrainian counteroffensive began the Ukrainian army has lost 26,000 soldiers. How do they know this? They explained recently that they can listen in to Ukrainian army reports to base on daily casualties.

So, it should be clear to anyone with a few brain cells to rub together that Russia has won this and that to fight on with any success is quite beyond the Kiev regime. Those in charge placed their trust in the assurances of Joe Biden and Boris Johnson conveyed to Zelensky shortly after something close to a peace settlement was agreed between the sides in Istanbul in March 2022. A peace settlement didn’t suit these two men and Zelensky had his arm twisted to end the search for peace and instead continue to fight.

Just as the western powers had only played a game with the Russians regarding the Minsk Accords pathway to peace (as has been explained by Merkel and Poroshenko) they were not of a mind to see peace break out now. Putin had sent a modest number of troops and vehicles to the vicinity of Kiev to persuade Zelensky to come to his senses and seek peace. When it appeared Zelensky had taken this seriously and serious gains were made in Istanbul Putin had them withdrawn. Then came Boris to Kiev to deliver his ultimatum.

If Zelensky continued along the path to a peace settlement his western sponsors would pull their support from Ukraine and would give him no guarantee of any security. However, if he abandoned the negotiations in Istanbul, threw the substantive agreements that had been made in the nearest bin then they would supply him with everything he needed to “win the war” and drive the Russian military out of every bit of the territory they had taken. Tragically Zelensky was essentially blackmailed into taking the latter offer.

Now something of the order of 200,000 Ukrainians are dead and many more wounded, the Ukrainian economy hardly exists and now we hear that the western powers are out of ammo to give him. Joe biden let this particular cat out of the bag only yesterday though it had been long forecast by those in the know. Russia on the other hand has expanded its production of military vehicles, missiles and ammunition many times over.

So. What. Now?

Now it seems the hard liners in the West want to escalate, to give Zaluzhnyi what he originally asked for hundreds of this and that plus F16 jets and who knows, perhaps even nuclear warheads. What he is getting is supply of two-decade (or more) old cluster munitions. As Biden says, the cupboard is almost bare except for these. That Russia has a huge stockpile of these that they will use if the Kiev regime does, seems not to have perturbed Biden in the slightest.

Does anything perturb Biden in the slightest these days? Perhaps only how to get off a stage after one of his incoherent ramblings that are supposed to pass for speeches. Though he can fly into a rage okay. We have seen that once or twice… actually more often than that when we think back to his verbal duals with detractors during his presidential campaign. Biden, always a political thug and given the Ukraine brief by Obama has a bee in his raggedy bonnet over that nation. Perhaps that bee has entered his grey matter through one ear and hasn’t exited through the other yet to search for the bug up Biden’s ass concerning it. It appears he is willing to start WWIII over it. And we all thought TRUMP was insane.

With Biden in the White House surrounded by raving neocons such as Blinken and Nuland what can Zelensky do? And what of the neo-Nazis, some of whom he has just brought back from Turkey? Do you really think they will let him become a peacenik again? Only if he’s hanging from a lamp post after being tarred and feathered maybe. Zelensky is between a rock and a hard place. He thinks his only chance of survival is to continue saying Ukraine is going to win, continually placing barriers before any mention of peace talks and in essence being the ‘warrior king’. If he slides he knows either the fanatics around him or the everyday long-suffering Ukrainians (who have ALL lost someone at this point in a war Ukraine could never win) will do for him and maybe for his family too.

This is the tragic circumstance Ukraine finds itself in and got itself into because the West wanted to use it as a battering ram against Russia. A Russia by the way led by a man who strove for seven years from 2015 to 2022 to bring all parties involved to a peaceful solution and who, even as he saw that a military solution was the only one left to him, attempted to end it as soon as humanly possible. In Istanbul, only weeks after the Russian military began its operation, a peaceful settlement appeared to be within reach so, as a gesture of good will he withdrew the force he had sent to set up camp in the vicinity of Kiev.

If Zelensky had been left to his own devices and had finally given the largely Russian-speaking Donbass the autonomy they longed for so they could preserve their way of life after the coup in Kiev of 2014 Ukraine would have remained largely intact. Crimea, with its long Russian history, until gifted to Ukraine by Nikita Khrushchev, would have stayed as part of Russia, but all else would have remained Ukrainian. But Boris and Biden got their way and war it was instead of an agreement leading to peace.

What can the Ukrainians do now? Being realistic and with the West continuing to prod Ukraine into battle, all they can hope for now is a speedy and overwhelming Russian victory. And that whatever is left of Ukraine is at peace, the peace they had always wanted by voting for the peacemaker turned warmonger Zelensky, the man they elected to negotiate with Russia and find a way to peace, not provide the endless misery they are deeply mired in now.

WHY DOES MOST OF THE WORLD SUPPORT RUSSIA?

For this discussion we must forget the blather that has issued from the mouths of almost all western political and media elites. The clear fact of the matter, as evidenced by the majority of actual shifts in power arrangements worldwide, is that the nations with the largest populations overall are steadily aligning with each other to an ever greater degree and in doing so, via BRICS, with Russia.

India and Saudi Arabia are two of the most recent nations to move closer to Russia and away from previous positions that indicated a degree of closeness to the West. China is a given and has been seen as Russia’s closest ally for quite some time. Now, almost on a daily basis we hear of ever more nations wishing to join the BRICS group and other groupings in which Russia is an integral member.

Why is this occurring? What, apart from the benefits of perceived economic advantage, is the motivation behind this shift? There are several.

One of the lesser, though very important reasons for nations grouping to push back against western power and influence is the desire to escape possible future sanctions imposed upon them by a United States still seeing itself as the global cop assigned by God to discipline them for, they would insist, ‘their own good’. With the U.S. dollar being the world’s reserve currency the political elites of the USA have the perfect weapon to threaten retribution and, if they deem it necessary, to impose punishments on nations that don’t toe the U.S. line. Naturally many nations would like to trade and connect with nations of their choosing rather than always have to look to U.S. interests rather than their own.

How does grouping together assist in the project to escape the potential danger of sanctions imposed upon them by the USA via the power of the U.S. dollar?

Nations grouping together in organisations such as the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) can organisation their international payments in local currencies and so bypass the power of the dollar to keep them vulnerable to U.S. imposed sanctions. In addition, there exists among those aligning closely with and joining BRICS, a goal to create a brand new currency in which to trade based on gold which in time begin to rival the U.S. dollar. In these ways a great many nations are signalling their desire to exit from the U.S. sphere of influence and to regain their independence, freedom from external (U.S.) influence and to make their own decisions based on their national interests rather than on those of the external power of the USA.

The even more substantial reason why so many nations of Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Global South are aligning with Russia is the prospect of a fully multipolar world. This is obviously closely related to the first reason described in the paragraphs above, to escape the current domination of the USA and its frequent threat and use of financial and economic weapons against them if they stray out of line in regard to U.S. national interests. Understandably these nations are far more interested in forwarding their own national interests but currently cannot effect any changes without the risk of inspiring the ire of the USA and the imposition of sanctions by it as a consequence.

Hopefully, at this point the reason why moving to a multipolar world is so extremely important to the nations of the world not voluntarily aligned with the USA, is clear and therefore why so many are now aligning in groups where Russia is an integral member. In addition, hopefully also now with greater clarity, it can be seen why defeat for Russia in Ukraine would potentially create a monumental setback for ambitions to realise a fully multipolar world. If this was to be the result the USA would reap huge geopolitical benefits and the possibility of nations still somewhat fearful of the USA and its ability to harm them through sanctions may well revert to their former positions. Those formal positions being essentially to submit to U.S. power and steadily retreat from joining the organisations such as the BRICS and SCO.

Hopefully, the two reasons described above for the most populous nations of the world tending to align themselves with Russia in regard to the Ukraine war (or at the very least doing so in private while publicly asserting neutrality) and aligning themselves with groupings in which Russia is an integral member, have become clear. The nations at risk of sanctions being applied to them if they don’t behave as the USA wants them to want out of this pernicious system that the U.S. elites glorify with buzzwords such as ‘democracy’ and ‘freedom’. This system, acting through the imposition of sanctions, is neither democratic nor about enhancing freedom. It is about enforcing the will of one nation and its allies on the rest of the world and denying them their freedom to act in their own interests, demanding that they act only in the interests of those nations dictating to them.

WHAT CAN BE COOKED UP BY KIEV & ITS FRIENDS FOR THE NATO SUMMIT?

The latest NATO summit has its first day tomorrow. So far the much-heralded Ukrainian counteroffensive hasn’t served up much of a meal for the members attending to happily digest, review and comment upon.

Yesterday a Ukrainian cruise missile, sent to hit a tasty target for the Ukrainians, the Kerch Bridge linking mainland Russia with Crimea, was shot down. Concurrently Kiev admitted to the previous attack on the bridge in October last year which was successful. Widely termed a terrorist attack it seems this announcement of Ukrainian responsibility appears designed to elicit some admiration from the attendees tomorrow. However, it is much more likely to elicit a condemnation of Ukraine as a terrorist state by Russia.

In any event Kiev continues to struggle to come up with anything resembling a striking success in its offensive. Though you might believe otherwise if you read western newspapers and watch western news bulletins. Each of these has been rather creative in their approach to the facts and supremely economical with the truth. Their recipe is to take the tiniest morsel of a few metres gain in ground by the Ukrainian military and bulk it up with a mass of hyperbole. This seems to go down well with many westerners who are anxious to see Kiev succeed.

The tactics above by western press and media have been very successful so far with a PR campaign that is well-funded and which has endured for the duration of the conflict. George Orwell would be very appreciative concerning the depth, breadth and success of the conditioning that both political and media elites have achieved. So perhaps no real successes are required regarding the current offensive, western news media can provide all the ingredients necessary to impress NATO elites tomorrow.

The conflict in the Donbass region began in the spring of 2014 when Kiev sent its army and militia sidekicks to stir up trouble for the civilian population there who had decided they would rather not be ruled by an illegal coup regime with modern day Nazis holding important positions within it. Their preference was for the democratically-elected president and government that had been overthrown and acted to resist their enslavement within a political system incorporating henchmen that despised them. This reality was not communicated to western publics however. A different tale was conjured up which made the victims the bad guys and made the bad guys into virtual saints. 

The trend above to fabricate a reality and communicate it widely became known as fake news though this term was applied to those who insisted on telling the truth by communicating reality rather than a constantly rehashed fantasy. Once again George Orwell would likely have smiled ruefully in appreciation.

Time and time again the “saintly” criminals of the kiev regime sent a tasty morsel of “news” to their faithful stenographers within western mainstream media and of course it was faithfully transferred to western publics. With all mainstream news outlets having sworn allegiance to their western state leaderships from 9/11 onwards a perfect pressure cooker of lies could be kept constantly on the boil.

Atrocity porn followed atrocity porn, war crimes, crimes against humanity, claims of unending inhumanity by the Russians poured out in a constant stream. Who could blame hapless western citizens when they were deluged with this material hourly that they began to implicitly believe it. Their brains were not only being washed, they were being boiled, their grey matter decomposed, rendered bland and converted to a rather tasteless soup. They are of course busy people. Survival in the western world requires fortitude and alertness to danger with stresses and demands being ubiquitous on a daily basis. Work, relationships, leisure and entertainment take most of the attention available. Only a very few have the inclination, or time to spare from their busy lives, to double check what they are being told by their favourite news media options. 

So, tomorrow we can expect a feast of fake news regarding Ukraine’s wonderful successes on the battlefield. Stories of brave derring-do by saintly Ukrainian soldiers. Tales of an admirable Kiev regime that pluckily fights back against the evil Russian hordes, veritable Davids against a horrendous Goliath. Will it do the trick? It will have to as the reality of the meal being served up resembles a pretty stinky gruel that NATO noses would certainly eschew. 

Will they swallow what’s offered? It must strongly be suspected that they will accept it wholeheartedly and even give it a five star rating. Little Zelensky will once again be transformed semantically into a giant among men, a valiant defender of all decent western values such as democracy and freedom (this despite him jailing those opposed to his policies and shutting down all media not agreeing with them). Ukrainian flags will fly proudly, not a trace of blood upon them. The rhetoric will be strident. Support for Ukraine will be unqualified. Unity will be displayed by all. The choreography of lies will be honed to perfection.

And the meal afterwards? What of it?

Will it be delicious? Will Ukrainians lick their lips in anticipation of yet another course? And then another and another…?

The above may well occur. But what of reality, that awkward customer who can spoil any party where so many cooks have worked so hard? Though you know the saying about too many cooks and the broth, don’t you?

Reality, grungy, horrible reality is all set to intrude and as is becoming the custom these days will be delivered by road. It may well be tasteless fare for the designer suited NATO attendees. They may turn up their noses, even spit in disgust, lips writhing and hot-blooded eyes popping in rage… however, their facade of fake war success will not prevail, it will not stand for more than a day.

What is that other saying that’s somewhat apposite in this culinary themed context?
