THE EFFECTS OF RESOURCE PSYCHOSIS WILL CORRODE WHATEVER UNITY REMAINS

Many years ago now I pondered how our species was going to deal with increasing demands and shrinking resources.

I coined a term for the conclusions I came to at that time, determining them to result in what I named ‘The Black Nexus Age’.

The term I coined at that time was ‘Resource Psychosis’. Demand spiralling out of control as a result of the relentless push toward luxury materialism while the ability to supply the energy needed to supply that demand began to fail. Alongside this phenomenon, I foresaw the coincident effect of climate change.

As a species, we are on course for disaster in my view due to the effects of the factors mentioned above. The description ‘Black Nexus Age’ was my attempt to describe in three words the world I foresaw some twenty-five years ago and which I believe we are on a headlong collision towards. This is a world where multiple negative factors are present and serve to exaggerate the effect of each other while humanity finds it impossible to deal with it all happening at once. Especially when humanity remains divided, fighting with its “enemies” and where one side attempts to win out at the expense of all others. Only unity of purpose could save the situation… but that crucial element will be the one most sorely missing in the years ahead if I am right.

We may emerge from this darkness if one power emerges as a sufficiently dominating entity. If it is the USA and its coterie of powers then those it defeats will be used as a cheap energy source whose leaders have been tamed and/or replaced. If it is China then the western empire will fade to a shadow of its previous power and the east will gain ascendancy bringing with its rise an interconnected trading empire where war is avoided as bad for business.

But what of the shrinking resources. What about the end of nuclear, the potential of green sources and the continuing necessity for oil and gas? How will the constant drive to create ever more economic growth in almost totally materialistic cultures where the mall is the new church be sustained if growth MUST continue forever… or societies collapse, infrastructure fails and finances dwindle. All pressured to sustain themselves on less while seducing humanity to keep buying into an ever shallower dream that corrodes it from within.

Resource Psychosis will exacerbate all the other problems we see arising, particularly in the societies of the West where fault lines of irreconcilable division are sure to continue to tear communities apart, atomising and isolating, dividing and individualising them. Criminality will be only one aspect of a growing anarchy as old models of stability, unity and sustainability fail.

Naturally, there will be good people trying to make things better as ever… but the task will become ever more hopeless as roots are lost to habits of community that once served us all well. Individualism, narcissism and the widespread self-interested greed culture rise and rise. Governments can only do such much to encourage cohesion in any society and like parents trying to guide their children toward lives that will bring them positive outcomes social media and the powerful influence of social media, peer pressure and lack of interest in anything but personal pursuits, ambitions and desires will ruin many a good intention and bring it to nought.

The world of the future was once envisioned as bright with innovation, expanded leisure time and opportunity. There were hopes that children would have far more fulfilling lives than their parents, that so much more would be affordable by them, their interests looked after by benevolent governments who concentrated on bettering lives at home rather than wage wars abroad… and that even world peace might one day be achieved. Those dreams have evaporated and have been blown away by a hurricane of depressing events including a forever war against both drugs and terror… and another to divide the world completely in two.

We lack the resources of our forebears. The politicians of our day with very few exceptions are laughable incompetents compared with some of the great statesmen of the past. This is true also for the women who gained some semblance of power along the way, the most recent being Margaret Thatcher who did more than most to stimulate greed, avarice, division and endless materialism and along with Reagan set the stage for the western world of dog-eat-dog individualism we see today.

The scarcity of resources is not only in the field of energy you see. Our populations of everyday citizens are still by the vast majority all for getting along with their fellow humans, creating families and nurturing them, helping others whenever they can. The resource of wise politicians who preside over the societies they consider to be below them is woefully lacking. The resources of imagination, vision and the will to effect changes that would truly enhance the lives of the many as opposed to the few are lacking to the extent of being almost non-existent.

It’s a baleful screed I know. But you feel it in your gut too, don’t you? We are going wrong. It wasn’t meant to be this way. Our parents didn’t struggle through hard lives with so much less than we have at our fingertips now for this mess to exist? They didn’t come through everything including the traumas of war to see it all wasted and delivered to the living hell we see all around us now. Where is the political will to stop this madness? Where is the urge to find unity of purpose? Where is the good sense to meet the challenges facing us now with solutions that truly better things rather than simply improve cronies’ bank balances?

So many resources are lacking and are in fact dwindling by the day.

Leaving those of us looking on in bewildered anxiety and confusion helpless to discover a route that can bypass the chaos that grows all around us for those we care about, love and would protect with all the will absent in those who hold all the power as we grow ever more powerless.

This is the broad and debilitating scope of resource psychosis that will drive masses to compete rather than cooperate, to grab the best life possible for self and family before others can get it, fighting them off as unwelcome competition, not at all as part of the community of mankind. Resource Psychosis will, if we let it, be the final nail in the coffin of humanity as any kind of dignified and civilised species. It will encourage us to tear each other apart for the last possible million “good lives” before the final recognition that we are at the end of ALL dreams.

THE WOKE MOVEMENT IS SO SCARY YOU MAY NEVER TRULY SLEEP WELL EVER AGAIN

What’s happening to the western world? Is it transmogrifying into an everyday waking nightmare version of the village of the damned?

The woke movement is to the mind and brain what Covid-19 is to respiration, potentially terminally inhibiting.

Is it well-intentioned? Is the idea to drain all the venom from every form of prejudice by displaying an absolute fiery prejudice against it to the extent that it gets cancelled out, much like the burning of witches in the Middle Ages to cleanse the land of their unwanted influence? If so, where does it stop, or does it stop at all?

How far do we want to go with the witchfinders of woke, the little red guards of what is okay and what is not? How many false idols must be overthrown, how many McCarthyite purges must there be? How many inquisitions? How many metaphorical guillotinings? And once it has all been done will those left live in freedom from all that or fear that they might show telltale signs of unwokeness?

As I have asked in a previous piece, who are the brain police? Who will be those so without error that they will be first to throw stones? How many will wonder if their glass houses are quite strong enough for those stones to be thrown without a thought? Sociopaths will have no fears, nor will those who belong to elites immune to comebacks if they decide to throw a few.

The antecedents to this phenomenon are not too hard to find. Elements of them are to be found in the earliest extremist phase of feminism where, to a minority in the movement, men became superfluous, if not outright objectionable, almost suitable cases for euthanasia. But even the milder forms of feminism brought with it a disruption to what had been fixed reference points in the predictable dance of life for men and women for many years. Some of the important rituals that made for predictability were no longer to be relied upon.

As in the most effective forms of propaganda, there has to be an element of truth within it to guarantee its potency. It was true that many men abused their situation of dominance over women and some measure of redress and correction was required within society. But the chosen means to make this correction left many men confused as to what they could safely do and what they could not in these new circumstances.

But the most recent progenitor of the woke movement is that of the politically correct one. Over several recent decades starting somewhere around the early Nineteen-Eighties a whole host of items became hot topics inviting criticism and punishment for those continuing to engage in activities or utterances which continued to breathe life into them. Yet another layer of confusion was added to that brought about by the feminist movement.

This third wave however has the potential to be the one that completely overwhelms any status quo the western world has ever known. Some may say that is a good thing. That tongues must be held, everyone thinking twice, counting to ten or more and so on before making any utterances at all. There is a risk of creating western societies where some minorities run rampant, aware they are totally immune from criticism, saying what they like about those whom they believe may oppress them, while a sizeable majority maintain a dumb but resented silence afraid they will be violently verbally attacked to their shame or cancelled, left jobless and friendless.

What would a more or less totally woke western world look like? How many of you believe it would eventuate into becoming a happy-go-lucky place where everyone was safe from prejudices, unfairness and the misery of isolation due to sexual orientation, skin colour, class or race? Would the West come out the other side of the levelling machine eventually, distilled to a Star Trek-like amalgam of equality, even-tempered humility and mutual respect?

I wonder.

I suspect it would simply descend into an ever deeper morass of rootless, traditionless chaos where anything goes for those who must never be criticised, leaving the rest in a bottomless confusion where fear of saying the wrong thing keeps them shut-mouthed during the day and endlessly awake at night.

THE MISSIONARIES OF THE COMING ARMAGEDDON NEVER SLEEP

In the days after 9/11 George W. Bush gathered anybody who was anybody in the elite circle of Washington and beyond together and agreed one thing:

We can’t allow the world as it is to continue.

What then followed was the mission to transform the world into one that was safe for America.

All geopolitical events instigated since that time across all U.S. allies and those aligned to it within its tight orbit of demand and control have been to further this purpose.

All statements alluding to ‘freedom’, ‘democracy’, ‘a rules-based international order’, ‘western liberal values’, ‘human rights’, ‘freedom of speech’ etc. etc. are aimed solely at nations targeted for regime change. These words are used as weapons with the sole aim of destroying the power of individuals and forms of governance within target nations.

The task of undermining selected targets takes place with missionary zeal. All those involved are completely dedicated to the task. As in any war, truth was the first casualty as this determination to transform the world began. And all who recognized that the goal of the war was also in their best interests began singing from the same hymn book.

You must imagine this as an immense array of armaments with a vast array of totally committed soldiers of all denominations behind it. This is what the western world became after 9/11. Whether some believe 9/11 was an in-house project to stimulate and gain support for this response or not, the fact remains that this response arose and is still being actively pursued to its ultimate goal.

The goal, the holy mission if you will, is to remove all individuals from power and all systems of governance that are not compliant with western needs and desires. Whether you consider those needs and desires positive, appropriate and beneficial is again irrelevant in deciding whether or not it is being progressed.

The mission is of course to be accomplished in the shortest time possible and initially, with the goodwill of most of the world behind it after 9/11 the USA determined to further it by targeting an initial seven nations. These we all know of from discussion of the list of nations revealed by Wesley Clark.

"We're going to attack Iraq. The decision has basically been made."

Six weeks later, Clark returned to Washington to see the same general and inquired whether the plan to strike Iraq was still under consideration. The general's response was stunning:

"'Oh, it's worse than that,' he said, holding up a memo on his desk. 'Here's the paper from the Office of the Secretary of Defense [then Donald Rumsfeld] outlining the strategy. We're going to take out seven countries in five years.' And he named them, starting with Iraq and Syria and ending with Iran."

https://www.salon.com/2007/10/12/wesley_clark/

As we know things didn’t work out as planned, however, if it didn’t prove possible to totally replace the leadership of target nations it was still of major benefit to the USA to destroy their economies. And this is the secondary goal of the mission when outright regime change and collapsing of systems of governance prove too difficult.

The targeting of the leadership, systems of governance and economies of Russia and China are obvious first-priority missions. The semantic armoury of the holy warriors of the Washington and Whitehall along with their compliant media troops has been used with ruthless and relentless determination. The number of articles depicting Putin as the new Hitler and China as a suitably devious oriental threat resembles a veritable waterfall of words seeking to condition minds across the West. This has been remarkably successful as can be seen when reading comments to anti-Russian and anti-China diatribes on Twitter.

The attack force has widespread support. The corralling of opinion using the age-old tactic of generating fear (and subsequent loathing) has proven as efficient as ever and with the advent of social media and a 24-hour news cycle the drumming of certain messages into western minds has been made easier still.

The only end result acceptable to those in power within the West is the complete subjugation of all those it considers in any way inimical to or in competition with the western way of life and all it entails. No lesser outcome is acceptable. The West, and in particular, the USA, must be made safe in perpetuity.

No ethical or moral standards were to apply at any stage in the mission described above. These would only prove to be barriers to actions considered needful in accomplishing the predominant goals that were of such importance that all considerations of proper conduct were to be dispensed with. Kidnap, torture, ‘collateral damage’, premeditated murder, assassination, misinformation, barefaced lies, “fact” manufacture and mass murder were all to be kept ‘on the table’ at all times.

The ends justify the means is an old adage that has come into its own in our time. All principles of earlier times, such as they were, required to be dispensed with due to the existential nature of the situation which enfolded in the minds of western elites after 9/11. A ‘no holds barred’ ethos with all “enemies” seen as fair game for all possible tactics no matter how dirty was acknowledged as necessary evils.

The end goal may appear as far off as ever to us looking on. But to those who forward this goal the glass is always half full rather than half empty. They see opportunities and follow them up with alacrity and the assistance of thousands. The number of willing helpers across the western world certainly numbers tens of thousands when you include those within its mainstream media. Each opportunity to exploit a weakness is taken. With great subtlety at times, betrayals will be arranged to undermine morale after seeming diplomatic concessions have been made. The war goes ever on and at multiple levels each moment that passes.

The missionaries of the coming Armageddon never sleep.

THE TERMINALLY SKEWED ELITE VIEW FROM THE WEST

What can account for the disdain, aggression and relentlessly patronising attitude of western political elites to Russia, China and other states with systems of governance that diverge from those in the West?

What is it that informs, motivates and supports the apparently totally fixed notions within these elites that they are singularly exceptional and that their societies are composed of the peak that humanity can aspire to?

Finally, what is the overarching goal of the western powers in their constant aggression against Russia, China and others, often dressed up as a defence mechanism against them?

It seems to me that the genesis of all of the characteristics and behaviours above stem from a, for them, convenient, matrix of dynamic mythology, vacuum-flask upbringing, pseudo-religious concepts and a large dose of self-interest. Add to this what is a very common militaristic/macho outlook, a devotion to maximum competition and an easy acceptance of semi-criminal or criminal behaviour if they deem the occasion warrants it.

Much of the above is seen as normality in the USA at the chauvinistic/hard-nosed feminist end of the scale. It is simply normal for such types to be tough on others, to have a disciplinarian outlook, looking down on those who are weaker or who are not ‘of your tribe’.

Anyone who has come into contact with those who run the upper social, political or military worlds of the USA will recognise the type. You have to fit into this type to be accepted to any degree in those upper-class circles. If you don’t fit you get rejected at the outset. Only those who correspond to their definition of ‘the right stuff’ are acceptable. Once accepted you join the ranks in a similar way that troops in earlier days did, with shields defending your squad, weapons aimed resolutely outward, always ready for the enemy that is forever ‘out there’.

The administrative ranks of western political organisations below the topmost ranks behave in similar manner. They get paid as an elite and certainly consider themselves an elite and those on the ‘other side, wherever that may be, are beyond the pale, regarded as of the ‘lower orders’. The similarity to out and out racism is painfully obvious.

This is why a resurrection of the Cold War mentality was so easily effected in such people. They fit right into the mould, already pre-primed for that particular shape. Then, after years of conditioning by endlessly repetitive warnings of just how bad ‘the other’ is, how devious, dirty and well, evil they are, the armour of prejudice is so enclosing as to be airtight and will not let even the tiniest sliver of open-minded insight inside.

Imagine then how difficult it would be as such a person to conceive the possibility that you might want, or need to treat those ‘others’ with something approaching respect. It would be unthinkable to such a person. Thus the unedifying spectacle occurs of treating those ‘over there’ as lesser beings, as unredeemably evil souls who you have nothing in common with, you being part of the upper echelons of the “perfect” western world.

Do you think this might lead to something similar to what we see today in the way western political and media elites speak of those ‘others’ in Russia and China?

It’s as if they are in some old ‘B’ movie where there is always an evil (and often foreign) boss determined to destroy the world. The present situation is even worse than during the Cold War. A modicum of mutual respect back then made diplomacy along with a certain degree of dialogue possible, enabling agreements to occur. Diplomacy and dialogue in anything like the form of those days is notable by its absence.

We are expected to believe that Biden (the good guy) will talk with genuine respect to Putin (the bad guy). How possible is this after all that has been said over these many years, including Biden’s agreement to the assertion that Putin is “a killer”? Besides, do American political elites make agreements set in stone and affirmed by their signatures… or do they make tactical moves to fox those ‘others’ and then abandon their supposed integrity whenever they feel like it to get the better of them? I would say that the evidence points to expediency among them rather than reliability these days.

Trace it all back and you’ll find these elite classes in environments where the certainty of their own exceptionalism goes without saying. The Ivy League, Harvard and Princeton environments, the old money privilege and patronage, the super self-confidence and world-defeating ego that fuels a political career in particular and generates many of the media establishment also.

What other result can we really expect from the kind of upbringing and mutually self-congratulatory corresponding superior visions of their place in the world and combative edge to remain forever top dog (where their supreme self-confidence tells them they of course belong)? No other result is possible where those who do not fit are weeded out at their very first detection.

These creatures of preening exceptionalism, of self-sustaining, self-confident myopia, of disdain for all those outside their tribe, those with a determination to stay on top no matter what… look down on the rest of us from their ivory towers in smug self-satisfaction, always ready to assail and destroy any who threaten their status.

This is the unchanging stance of successive U.S. political elites and their media brethren.

This is the elite view from the West.

THE DESPERATE PLIGHT OF THE RELENTLESSLY PROPAGANDIZED AMERICAN PEOPLE

What are the great American people to do? By majority, they want a better life for all. Yet they vote for scoundrels, incompetents and puppets on a string time after time after time.

Joe Biden is simply the latest ventriloquist’s dummy to take centre stage and make like he has vocal chords of his own. Trump was no better in his own thuggish, no integrity way.

No need to go back through all the slick, sick and stupid previous incumbents. Each one was as bad as the other in one way or another.

So what are North Americans to do about this series of failed experiments in western so-called democracy?

I know what they should do… vote in their millions for independent candidates who can shake the whole corrupt system of the fake democratic system to its foundations.

But they won’t.

In 2024 they will no doubt vote for the previous talking head, the sociopath Donald J. Trump, the man who almost single-handedly made Russia public enemy number one by being accused he was one of its agents. Has anyone bothered to look at his track record? He attacked in one way or another every single friend and ally Russia has, China, Syria, Iran, Cuba and Venezuela. To top all that off he gave the green light to sending lethal weaponry to Ukraine, something Obama refused to do. That’s right, Russia’s main local enemy. Trump is Russia’s friend? As the saying goes, with friends like Trump you don’t need enemies.

Why can’t most Americans see past the two main candidates, those from the two main parties? Are they so totally blind or gullible that every four years they will act like so many Pavlov’s Dogs and react to the same old stimuli of false promises over and over and over again? As Einstein is reputed to have said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” That about sums up the average American voter’s actions at election time, wouldn’t you say?

It’s like a bad movie endlessly repeating. An especially horrific version of ‘Groundhog Day’ without the happy ending.

A typical American president gets into power promising to solve all the problems of the day. However, especially in regard to American foreign policy the solutions to perceived problems soon become problems themselves. And once created these new problems need ever more drastic “solutions”. So the very unmerry-go-round keeps turning. While the world keeps burning.

None of the turmoil created gets inspected with any degree of self-analysis. The devastation, the chaos, the tens, hundreds and potentially millions who die as a result of U.S. elites rabid desire to control, dominate and manipulate the world are somehow nothing to do with the Washington elites who instigated it all. They perceive themselves as perennially and permanently innocent. They have a manifest destiny, they are exceptional… and have a mission that only the perfect and deserving can be allowed to see through to its bloody end.

Will Americans choose to support all this once again in 2024, still of the belief that their country ‘right or wrong’ is the only nation endowed by God to smite all the ‘bad guys’ wherever they may be? I strongly suspect so. And if Trump gets elected again in 2024 they will get the same again as far as foreign policy goes, ‘America First’ and any challengers made to be last, by any means necessary.

This is the desperate plight of the American people. In a land devoted to fantasy and simplistic notions of right and wrong, divorced from knowledge of geography or other cultures, determined to see things in brutal black and white, believing in myths and bible-thumping nonsense-mongers, shock-jocks and conspiracy freaks, divided and at war with one another on myriad issues… soothed to dull numbness and conditioned to death by mainstream TV… they will gaze, slack-jawed at the candidates next time, locked into their partisan cages howling for the next puppet their party chooses for them.

But this is the society we others are meant to emulate.

Well… “Hell no!”, as they say in the good old US of A!

2021: AFGHANISTAN & THE BEGINNING OF U.S. ‘SUBMISSION ACCOMPLISHED’

2021 in Afghanistan marked the beginning of the end for American elite hopes of global hegemony.

2021 will mark the year when the impossibility of the hoped-for world domination western powers craved, believing it could provide them and their nations with total security, finally ended.

With the humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan, a chain-reaction began that must inevitably cause an implosion within the entire panoply of schemes they hoped would allow their continual progress toward worldwide supremacy.

The rise of China and the increasing invulnerability of Russia to all attacks aimed at it by the western allies in 2021 also took its toll. In this year of 2022, I predict there will be no reversal in the fortunes of those who would wish to create a de facto prison planet here, dominated from the skies.

2021 saw the steady failure of the West to assert its power successfully. The rot had been underway for the previous five years with the lamentable spectacle of the Trump presidency where an opportunity to take a different path was stymied by the U.S. national security state. The resulting debacle of integrity loss, rhetorical hysteria and hyperbole created the inner rot within the USA that has further weakened it.

The cancerous tentacles of U.S. elite power fueled by the desire for constant hegemony had kept Western Europe in its grip since World War II. But even there the deterioration was clear during the Trump years. Biden has sought to rebuild the relationship but though the heads of state do their best to retain the hardline rhetoric behind the scenes they must surely be having grave doubts about a relationship with the USA that shows every sign of ruining their economies.

China, first out of the starting blocks after Covid will power ahead in 2022 just as it showed every sign of doing in 2021 when it was the only major nation to show a rising rather than falling GDP. With America in constant turmoil leading on from the Black Lives Matter protests, the Capitol Building invasion and the weakening and divisive effects of the ‘woke’ and ‘gender’ issues and a host of others the USA is clearly on course to be a continual basket case rather than hegemon.

Yet the political elites of the USA will continue to put up a rhetorical front, they will still wield whatever economic and financial weapons they have to hand and will goad their European puppets to do their will as usual… but as a military power it will soon be apparent that it is as good as dead.

Afghanistan showed that the project of nation destruction and failed nation-building is a dead-end occupation that creates many more problems than it aims to solve. Of course, this was obvious to astute observers not caught up in the vacuum chamber of senseless reactive insistences that mark successive modern U.S. administrations.

2021 also brought the Ukraine crisis to a head.

In 2013 and 2014 the USA along with the EU embarked on their arguably most wrong-headed project so far. They assisted in toppling a government too far and did it just because they could with little strategic value to it. If Russia had not been able to reunite Crimea with the motherland there would have been a significant strategic value to the whole exercise but really, it ought to have been obvious to them that Russia could not possibly allow that to happen.

Steadily Russia has strengthened itself against its attackers who sought to undermine it through possession of Crimea and place NATO missiles and its army in Ukraine on Russia’s doorstep. Slowly but surely Russia surmounted the challenge to it that sanctions brought. It found new trading partners, rebuilt its economy, planned escape routes from weaknesses in its financial institutions and created an entirely new range of weapons to defend itself with.

And arguably the most important factor of all which spells the end of U.S. elite hopes of retaining whatever degree of patrician control over the world they still have or progressing it any further toward total global hegemony (which was their aim after 9/11) was the ever-closer relationship of Russia with China.

Russia began playing hardball on Ukraine in the latter half of 2021. The language became ever harder and increasingly showed a determined resolution to obtain goals vital to Russia’s national interests, continued inviolate sovereignty and security. Gone were any previous worries concerning economic fallout or providing propaganda talking points for western press, media or political talking heads. Robust defences had been built to a high enough standard to finally allow the straight-talking to begin with relative impunity.

Of course, the same old propaganda methodologies were seen from the squawking press, media and political figures still attempting to condition their populations and give the same old impressions of the ever-malign and evil-intentioned Russian bear… but it really didn’t matter any more, Russia was bringing the West to realize some home truths at last.

At the end of 2021 Russia brought the West kicking and screaming to the negotiating table. From that point on we would hear less and less of the arrogance, bravado and endless deceitful slander from them. They were being told to put up or shut up. Russia brought it home to these loudmouths that something extremely serious was going on and that they had best finally face it instead of just running their mouths off and making matters worse.

We are seeing the end of the western era of deceit, division, threat and mass murder happening before our very eyes. The influence of the east will now rise to eclipse the massive influence the West has had until now. Afghanistan was the first highly dramatic evidence of this now ongoing process but it will certainly not be the last. The final curtain will come down act after act and we will see many such in 2022.

One by one the levels of exploitation the West has used for generations will fail them, every weaponized issue from their so-called democracy to faux human rights to economic superiority will crumble and fall in front of our eyes.

We have already observed the harbingers of ‘submission accomplished’ in Afghanistan and we will see more regarding Ukraine while the western powers continue to howl their defiance using increasingly redundant rhetoric. Until, with a final whimper they eventually have no other recourse but to recognize that a new geopolitical paradigm and a truly multipolar world has arrived to deny them every ambition they have ever nursed for global domination.
