THE WEST IS TELLING ITSELF BEDTIME STORIES OVER UKRAINE

Once you enter war mode as a society you inevitably enter into being to one degree or another a citizen of fantasy land.

Information becomes channelled and moulded rather than free flowing. Facts become factoids become fables, vignettes of encouragement for the spirit, and weapons with which to confuse the enemy, or your own people.

Currently, and for quite some time now the western world has been telling itself both little white lies and tall tales to help it sleep better at night regarding Ukraine.

The Kiev regime has been losing the conflict instigated on February 24th 2022 by Russia which was in reality begun by the USA (in league with the darkest of forces) in 2013-2014. These are not facts that can be acknowledged while the West remains in war mode however. Not until the final coming to terms by the Kiev regime that it has been roundly defeated and most likely not even then in any complete sense.

The fabulous accounts of great Ukrainian victories and resolute rebuffing of all things Russian will without doubt continue long after Russia has achieved every one of its goals. This is just the way of the world and in particular the way of the western world. This would-be hegemon (USA and its proxies) simply cannot confront even the mere whiff of failure. So, in all likelihood many of the myths now generated out of thin air concerning Ukraine and the performance of the Ukrainian army will continue to be told in the equivalent of a mainstream media fireside chat before bedtime..

That bedtime has more than one aspect of sleep about it of course. Putting its own perceptions of reality to sleep has been a vital aspect for all elites concerned in the West, both in the political and media spheres. The truth must be transformed to assist the war effort and a necessary blindness to reality must be cultivated and honed to a potentially totally obscuring myopia leading to near total present time amnesia.

Meanwhile of course the other side, in this case Russia, with the greater resolve and existential need largely eschews the fanciful verbiage and simply gets on with the job of attaining each and every goal set for itself. The urgency and importance of the task in hand and the need to keep a clear head and see the true nature of what faces you and deal with it is all important. Russia cannot afford the skewing of perception that is all-important to the dual elites of the West, predicated as they are on creating a PR image to satisfy a home population requiring constant shielding from the awful truth.

However, all the above having been said, the hard facts are inevitably going to pierce through the mirage of storytelling that the West’s elites have been spinning.. And soon. The recklessness of the western powers in their attempt to attack Russia in any way that could be found (without success in any major form) are rebounding in ever-increasing form and strength on a West about to be rudely awoken from its dreams of ultimate conquest.

Not only are dreams of gaining hegemony and total manipulative control, seen as so very vital after 9/11, to be totally shattered, the very foundations of western power are clearly to be undermined in such a fundamental way that the new realities involved are going to be inescapable. These now inescapable realities will ultimately force the eyes of the West open to a far greater extent than the mere loss of all hope in Ukraine.

The bedtime tales are shortly going to be very hard to keep telling with any conviction or hope of unquestioned acceptance. In fact, such will be the extent of the rude awakening to come. that the West will be hard put to ever media-massage itself to sleep through tall-tale storytelling ever again.

What we are about to witness will certainly wake those who are not totally comatose. Of course what will happen concurrently is that the communal elite gaze in the West will turn elsewhere. As Ukraine’s coming offensive turns horribly wrong with thousands dead and the wreckage of the West’s tanks littering the fields and roads of the Donbass the emphasis of western politicians will shift to suit. A few excuses will be made and then, as with Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya a discrete veil will be drawn over all things Ukraine.

No more rhetoric about the selflessness and serenity and unmitigated success of the western project in that benighted nation. No reference to all the money spent. No self-examination or remorse. But lots of ass-covering along with one last telling of fairy stories and bedtime tales to lull western populations asleep… until the next war alarm sounds.

TOTAL CARNAGE IS ALMOST INEVITABLE AS ESCALATION FOLLOWS ESCALATION IN UKRAINE

The world is at war and neither side can back down. There is too much at stake.

Russia, pushed into a corner where it was demanded that it negate its past where over 25 million Russians died, and accept NATO moving right up to its doorstep, at last refused to lie down meekly and accept this threat.

The explosive train of events since that fateful decision continue to impact more and more aspects of western interests within the global economy. Despite the massive fallout already felt, this appears to be only the beginning of these trends with much more and even greater impacts to come.

With all this going on the two powers squaring up to each other, instead of finding some accommodation with one another drift ever farther apart in growing antagonism, mistrust and acts of escalation of the type that create mortal enemies who are irreconcilable in anything but the most minor details… if they can agree on any at all.

Demonisation is the order of the day, with the portrayal of ‘the enemy’ as a subhuman monster only deserving of complete elimination. No quarter is sought or given and the burial grounds of human casualties are hardly a factor for either in a war without limit that leaves only one side standing.

In the middle of the face-off where two foes stand eye to eye ready to tear each others’ heads off the battleground becomes a sea of blood and bone, a wasteland where the traumas of death, fear and destruction replace all earlier tendencies toward common humanity.

Such is war and such is the state of our world that thought itself beyond such barbarism.

Wars need two instigators however and the history of the Ukrainian war clearly shows only one, the collective western leadership who degree by degree negated Russia’s right to national security and preservation of its protective sphere of influence. In a macabre anti-Cuban missile crisis Russia was pressured to accept that it had no right to peace of mind, that a belligerent NATO had every possible right to creep right up to its door and squat there for all the world like one of Steven Spielberg’s gremlins.

Like a schoolyard bully relentlessly pushing the shoulder of another less muscled victim, there sometimes can be an unexpected outcome.

There is every indication that the U.S. military has been providing Ukraine with precise location data on Russian targets, the use of which has resulted in many civilian deaths. In response, Russia responds proportionately and in recent weeks has has targeted a bunker within Ukraine where it seems a large number of NATO personnel were coordinating attacks on Russia.

Such escalations by the western powers reveal constant and significant escalation of violence encompassing the apparent acceptance that certain civilian casualties are inevitable and perhaps even desirable due to their involvement in supporting Russia, the Russian-speaking majority of the Donbass.

In war there is a strong tendency toward ‘mission creep’ and an increasing acceptance that things which would have been abhorrent before become regarded as ‘unfortunate necessities’ before becoming in due course an every day ‘accepted normality’. We have seen the West escalate in this manner time after time, saying that certain weapons will not be given the Ukrainian regime only for them to be given a few weeks or months later.

Once the Rubicon is crossed there is usually no turning back.

Thus we move to the necessitated compartmentalisation of conscience within a steely-eyed compulsion to utterly decimate an enemy that has become only a fiendish shadow of a human representation, a thing to be exterminated by all means possible.

The latest escalations include the point blank refusal to take part in peace talks, something Russia has been willing to engage in from the very start and which almost reached agreement in Istanbul last March if it were not for the intervention by Johnson and Biden to halt the process.

Now we await what may be the final escalation from the Ukrainian regime and their western sponsors, the long-promised counter offensive by the Ukrainian military. We are promised by Anthony Blinken that it will take place sometime in the the next few weeks. However, Russia has said it is fully ready to repulse any offensive which the regime mounts. This may well be the final battle that will determine the outcome of this conflict and much else besides. We are nearing a crucial moment in history and there appears to be an atmosphere of no quarter to be given on either side.

We stand on that threshold now. And into that evil mire we may now plunge. Whether one side gains a great victory or we find all sides grieving that humanity has finally come to this where hope, idealism, patriotism and honour are all lost in a final abysmal bloodbath.

THE DIVIDING LINE ACROSS THE WORLD BIDEN SOUGHT IS ALMOST IN PLACE

To survive its inevitable decline, to shore up the West’s present level of influence and sustain its ability to dominate others, Biden, the figurehead at the top of the western elite superstructure decided it was in the interests of the West to split our world in two.

This was a purely self-interested decision based upon narrow nationalism, totally selfish economic interests and the continuation of western power-political advantage. It was not for any spurious reasons given regarding freedom, democracy, adherence to a 'rules-based system' or any similar false premises.

We see Biden’s desire to create a barrier between the West and Eurasia and a permanent limit to Eurasia’s economic rise and increase in influence coming to fruition through the use of every weapon available to the western powers. We see too the huge damage this is doing to the geopolitical fabric of our planet.

By conditioning western populations by ever-increasing degrees and its use of every form of propaganda a western iron curtain has been erected against Eurasia and all that it stands for. Included in Biden’s crazed scheme was prevention of its ability to ameliorate western warmongering and even its ability to communicate its concerns and views. (Russia Today (RT) was banned in most western nations as a result of the western framing of events in south-eastern Ukraine.)

It was clear after Biden was declared the victor in the 2020 U.S. presidential election from various sources that the geopolitical goal of the new administration was to unite all American allies in one cohesive grouping and ensure that all stood resolutely for NATO and against both Russia and China. Currently Russia is the main focus and target of the collective spearhead of all western political and media elites. China remains the prime target however and will be concentrated on fully and with extreme vigour when and if Russia can be subjugated, weakened, neutralised, its leader ousted and its system of governance replaced.

We can currently see a permanently divided world now emerging before our very eyes. Previous virulent memes carefully constructed to demonise Putin through endless repetition will now be raised to new levels, though previous levels were at an extreme height already.

Western elites have been running scared for decades now. They have watched as their power has fallen from previous heights and it is certain that the reports they have received from their analysts and many think-tanks have made baleful reading for them regarding the rise of powers that would inevitably eclipse their power if nothing was done.

The present situation and all the dangers, potential for loss of life, destruction of livelihoods and the extreme dangers to everyone not among the elite class is clear. It is all too reminiscent of what was once called 'The Great Game' where western powers sought to maintain their influence and dominance over nations such as Russia in historical eras not too far distant from our own.

The elites of the western world in combination, political, press & media, corporate and military, saw that their reliance on earlier areas of superiority were not going to be available to them as they had been so lucratively in the past. In combination they now seek to at least hold the remaining power still left them, to limit to as high degree as they are able the economic rise and subsequent increase in influence of others and to embroil their targets in as much instability and controversy as possible.

To accomplish all of the above an obvious and easily understood dividing line across the world was required. The simpler to explain this dividing line the better. As with all such tactical options to shore up power and increase it, the believable reason for it had to be communicated in a stark contrast between good and evil. On one side was 'The Free World', a phrase I predicted as Biden was elected would come back into frequent use. The western side is of course depicted as devoted to a 'Rules Based Order' with the other side having whatever might be the opposite of this. 'Liberal Western Values' are contrasted with the inferior and dangerous for freedom, authoritarian values. West Good. East Bad. Biden Right. Putin Wrong.' Simple and easy to understand and ultimately to be broadened to frame the USA and all its allies, UK et al on one side and Russia & China and all those who align with them on the other.

Leading to? Leading of course to a war. Not a hot war. But a new Cold War, what I have named an 'Ice Cold War' as it will have none of the very real diplomacy that was a feature of the original Cold War.

A world permanently divided unless one side or the other rises to be the most prominent by far at which point a new geopolitical environment will come into being. If the USA and its allies ultimately win out I foresee us living in a de facto prison planet, scrutinised, put under close surveillance and supervised in each and every relationship we make, with a Big Brother USA and its helpers the UK and EU always on the lookout for "dangerous influences" and "potential threats".

If Eurasia rises and overcomes the barriers the western world is putting in its way we can, in my opinion, look forward to a world where tolerance for diverse forms of governance exists alongside an agreement-based matrix of international relations that promotes peace rather than war at every level, a truly multipolar world where humanity sees the prospect and potential for true global harmony for the first time ever.

The world again will become one. But which version of the two above will future generations live to see?

A DARK CURTAIN IS FALLING ACROSS THE WESTERN WORLD

(An attempt to describe the near future in Europe, Britain and USA that is fast emerging.)

And so it was that the more the Russian military succeeded in its campaign across Ukraine the greater was the pressure to extend the war mode that had informed both political and media elites to the general public of all nations within the collective West.

This process had already been well advanced during the years after 9/11 and came to the fore especially during the Trump years. These were the years of ‘cancel culture’ and of naming those who did not take the official western line on Russia as ‘Putin’s Puppets’. Fear was stoked from one end of the USA to the other claiming that a powerful but hidden Russian influence posed an enormous danger to the normal running of the USA, including that of its electoral systems.

While a new McCarthyism was awash across the USA something very similar was being attempted in the USA’s closest ally, Britain. It seemed that as in America with Trump’s face selling magazines and all the profits attendant on that phenomenon, so in the United Kingdom the face that sold magazines through their covers and newspapers through their headlines, was that of Vladimir Putin. Anyone who dared talk of these money-making and fear-spreading tactics in anything but glowing appreciation but instead cast doubts upon their propriety found themselves a social pariah.

In those families where such “black sheep” refused to remain silent but argued for a fairer hearing of the Russian case or who cast doubt on what became known as ‘Russiagate’ experienced a near permanent split in their relationships. Those who depended upon their positions at work quickly became aware of the need to remain silent on such topics. Self-censorship became the norm for most of the people who retained an open mind on these matters.

What had occurred was that the two principal and most powerful elites across the western world, the political and media elites had united in a joined-at-the-hip allegiance to one single and unchangeable narrative on both Putin and Russian influence. This was extended before too long to include China also but with Russia’s intervention regarding Ukraine on the 24th of February this year the preponderance of the West’s focus returned with a vengeance to Putin and Russia.

The phenomenon above has a name. It is called ‘War Mode’. Though a war has not been declared against Russia a war is indeed being waged against it. In a war, or within the confines of ‘War Mode’ nothing positive is allowed to be said about the enemy. Such behaviour is regarded as traitorous. In wartime it is subject to extreme penalties such as incarceration in specially created camps. The difference between a declared was and ‘war mode’ in this respect is perilously little and this is why, as Russia took ever more land from Ukraine the difference in mentality and action disappeared completely.

It was when the Russian military broke through the main defences of the Ukrainian military opposite Donetsk City and in both the Kherson region and that of Izyum that we saw the effect of the ‘war mode’ mentality deepen across the West. With the fall of Odessa only a week later in mid-September it appeared the final straw had been laid upon the veritable camel’s back. First the British government, led by Elizabeth Truss and then the Biden administration began to pass the draconian laws that they insisted were necessary.

The security of the nation was at stake was the common sentence heard on both sides of the Atlantic and therefore the measures being taken though much regretted had proven unavoidable in the circumstances. The European powers were reluctant to follow suit but after consultations behind closed doors they complied less than a week later with admonitions that these measures would be purely temporary.

Temporary however, they were not. And the effects were immediate.

Unknown to any but a few a comprehensive database had been created of all so-called “subversive voices spreading misinformation” Talk of misinformation, disinformation and fake news had been a common enough topic across the political and media elites for some time, but now the determination to close down all sources of unacceptable opinion became all-pervasive. One by one and sometimes in groups of up to a dozen at a time website began to disappear from the internet. ‘The Duran’ channel was one of the first, and though there was massive speculation and outrage at first regarding the unknown whereabouts of the primary figures associated with the site at first, as those who spoke out were also apprehended soon silence began to be all that prevailed.

The atmosphere of self-censorship that had been seen increasing from 2016 onward now took on similar characteristics as the ‘normalisation’ process which had post-dated the Prague Spring in Czechoslovakia. Those who chose to voice their protest at what was going on or who continued to spread “unorthodox views” criticising western state “truths” concerning the now mortal enemy, Russia were simply ‘disappeared’. The remaining population continued life much as before even expressing great approval that the ‘troublemakers’, ‘traitors’ and ‘Russian Agents’ had been suitably punished for their malignant delusions regarding the evils of the Russian monsters who had made such a heinous and unprovoked attack upon the innocent population of Ukraine.

Several hard-hitting publicity campaigns had reinforced this majority prejudice against the so-called ‘Russian Supporters’ to heights unseen since the second world war ended though only historians were able to comment on this, the populations of the West being in the majority too young to make sense of these remarks. Several historians too were subsequently no longer to be found, or at least to be heard from again in the public sphere.

A special police force was required, complete with an army of analysts in their back office. The database of ‘subversive personalities’ was being added to significantly on a daily basis as the ‘Russian Spy Hotline’ was deluged with calls by “friends”, parents and neighbours reporting on those they suspected of holding ‘order contravening’ or ‘security risk’ views. The original camps set up in remote locations were doubled in size, then tripled, quadrupled and so on. Entire cities of the non-conformists were constructed where ‘political reorientation’ and ‘in-depth deprogramming’ took place.

Various suggestions were made for a more secure environment going forward. One of the most popular was for microscopic chips to be implanted in the soft brain tissue of every fetus so that adequate monitoring and potential preemptive punishment for forbidden thoughts could be effected. This was considered far too extreme when it was first broached in the British parliament in late 2024… but by 2026 it had become a common, if hidden practice.

Much has become hidden now as I write this on 2030. We live in a time where great care must be taken in all things. Each adult that wishes to maintain a life without attracting trouble, one where an income can be earned and a family raised must exercise extreme control over things said, associations maintained and even places visited (certain locations have been named as ‘potential insurgent hotspots’). We watch each other like hawks, unable to know whether those around us are beneficiaries of the ‘State Medal for Heroism’, those who have named beyond 1,000 criminals and traitors who have wished the downfall of the state. You may think that is a high number to reach. Not at all. The current figure for the United Kingdom is currently 17,586 and rises by up to a dozen each day.

No one talks freely about the disappeared anymore. Whispered rumours in safe places among friends do take place. We wonder constantly where John Pilger, George Galloway, Max Blumenthal, Aaron Maté, Alex Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris and many others may be, and even if they are still alive. But even this is becoming more and more dangerous as by satellite and roving surveillance units held by the ‘SMh’ (State Medal for Heroism) holders are becoming ever more sensitive as devices to hear even the most whispered speech.

Those of us who have survived the database searches live in fear. We exist in a darkness surrounded by the blithely ignorant who continue to indulge themselves with mindless passion in the new, state-sponsored ‘bread and circuses’ entertainments. We are naturally sick at heart and can barely endure the permanent falseness that pervades everything now with not a trace of any of the relief we felt hearing some of the down-to-earth reality as transmitted daily by The Duran and others. We now live within a vacuum chamber of darkness, one from which there appears no possible escape… save one.

THE WORLD AS WE HAVE KNOWN IT IS ENDING

The momentous changes taking place now will form the shape of life for all future generations.

Whatever the end result of the titanic struggle currently taking place we will certainly live on a planet radically different than the one previous generations to ours have known.

The elites of the collective west are quite clearly determined to insist that their definition of right conduct, right leadership and right systems of governance be accepted worldwide and are willing to do almost anything to ensure their vision for the world is realised.

A homogeneous world where liberal hegemony prevails globally is their vision, one that refuses existence to any opposition in the name of what they frame as ‘freedom’, ‘democracy’, ‘western liberal values’ and a ‘rules based system’ according to their definition and design.

The world to come, if determined by the elites of the West will brook no resistance to the standards set by them, and will demand obedience to the codes of conduct they insist are the only acceptable standard.

Tolerance for any forms of governance than those set as standard by them will end. The monitoring of potential deviation from those standards will be constant and any infractions regarding those standards will certainly be punished in one form or another.

There will be one set of principles, one form of justice, one narrative on world events and one dominant power of control.

Currently many forms of governance exist which, if the western powers achieve their goals, will disappear forever never to be replaced. The determination is clearly to replace every last one of these, eliminating them and substituting systems which adhere to the standards, values, principles and systems of the collective west.

This standardised world will inevitably take shape if the conclusion of the struggle now taking place sees western powers realizing their goals.

If however those that the western powers now seek to eliminate and replace prevail there will continue to be a diverse variety of governance systems, sets of principles regarding how life is best lived, ethical and moral standards and the mix of restrictions and freedoms seen now. No homogenisation will take place and the western project to transform the world will end.

With the war being waged by the West against those unwilling to accept a collective west-ordered world, the unipolar world demanded, being lost, with western elites effectively quarantined, unable to press home their demands, what world will then result?

China and Russia, being the two primary opponents of the unipolar system of world dominance are clearly uninterested in the kind of uniformity sought by the USA, UK and their allies. Trade in the furtherance of better conditions of life for their populations are their clear primary goals. Tolerance for diversity and an absence of any intention to eliminate or radically change the governance systems, life principles, ethical or moral values appear to be the foundation of that new world in prospect.

Alongside tolerance for all the many diverse systems of that world and in parallel with it would be their expectation that their own traditions, values and systems also be respected as they tolerate those of others. Security and sovereignty with agreement at the highest level would ensure relations allowed for trading relations to continue unhindered.

These are the two possible worlds that await us. One is a strictly monitored world by the western powers now insisting that all nations MUST adhere to the principles of behaviour and governance they require as standard. The other is a world not greatly divergent from the one we have know to date at its best where great diversity exists within a framework of trade and coexistence.

Currently the overarching unity sought by the institution of the United Nations is being superseded by the western powers intent on their own goals which they conceive of as being more urgent than the keeping of peace. If they prevail there will hardly be need for such an organisation as the will of the West will be done, constantly insisted upon and systems of control and punishment will ensure this is the case for any deviation from its standards.

In the alternate world should China and Russia prevail the United Nations will achieve a peak of influence only dreamed of in the past.

The world as we have known it is ending. The world to come will not be as it has been until now.

Each one of us now will be affected by the momentous changes currently taking place and each one of us must decide on which side of history we stand.

WESTERN MEDIA PROSTITUTION ON UKRAINE & HOW IT MAY SOON TURN ON A DIME

Due to the present war mode affecting western media in its attitude toward events in Ukraine we really have nothing meriting the description ‘journalism’ on this subject within the western mainstream.

If not that then what DO we have?

We have professional “journalists” prostituting their profession on a daily basis and subsequently breaking the bond of trust they have with their readers and viewers.

They have decided on a career whose purpose is to inform. To inform of the reality before them to the best of their abilities. They have purposefully abandoned the very essence of their career. What they purvey now is a totally skewed portrayal of events.

Take for example a series of articles concerning a major nuclear power plant under Russian occupation in Ukraine. In a highly convoluted form these articles seek to skirt any mention of the Ukrainian military bombarding the site. The authors seek by excruciatingly convoluted means to give the impression that somehow or other the Russians are either bombarding themselves or the Ukrainian shelling of the plant is justified due to assertions made by those Ukrainians and subsequently accepted as gospel truth.

This kind of logic is the stuff of future nightmares where only a partial and highly biased version of reality is conveyed. This invites disaster. It also invites mass casualties, death and destruction.

For over a year now western press and media has been conveying a completely false portrayal of the conflict in Ukraine. They have sought constantly to give the impression Ukraine was winning or at least had a strong chance of winning. This was never even a remote possibility. Russia was ALWAYS going to win as even a cursory examination of the situation would have revealed. But western political elites could not tolerate the idea of Russia achieving a quick victory. This eventuality was deemed completely intolerable. Tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands were therefore consigned to their deaths to achieve goals pertinent only to the geopolitical ambitions of the western powers.

Being convinced that assuming a war mode stance was the only viable posture for them in the face of western state dedication to pushing the war endlessly forward, every mass media title and television channel committed the cardinal sin of their profession, skewing the facts to suit.

Ukraine could do no wrong and all that Ukraine said would be accepted as fact without question. Even the most outrageous and obvious lies were to be lent utmost credibility in order to help it and injure Russia. In a similar vein to using anti-government activists in Syria as sole founts of acceptable information, any activist or authority figure on the Ukrainian side had carte blanche to say whatever he or she dreamed up and have it transmitted as news. Nothing from the other side that couldn’t be used to degenerate and undermine it would see the light of day.

This one-sided set of narratives were displayed across all western mainstream media in diverse forms on a daily basis serving, where believed, to thoroughly condition readers and viewers into a Pavlovian state of mind which could be manipulated at will.

Ukraine was to be urged on by this incessant propaganda to deliver ever more cannon-fodder to the front. For the western powers the longer this process went on the better as they saw things, this in the hope that something could be saved from the mess they had created by goading Russia into this conflict and the failure of their economic attacks upon it for doing so.

The Americans and British in particular, though assisted by the European Union nations, really did everything possible to ensure that Ukraine would fight almost to the very last Ukrainian.

This process is of course still underway. Without any doubt when Russia’s final victory does occur, postponed by the vast mounds of Ukrainian dead a in a few months time, the western political elites will have already prepared a cover story. The most likely lie prepared has already been partially rehearsed. In relatively recent times an article appeared saying that the Pentagon was unhappy with the information Ukraine had been supplying regarding the course of the conflict. It was said that they knew more about the disposition of Russian forces than they did regarding those of Ukraine.

I suspect the above will be the backbone of the public relations defence the western powers will use to excuse themselves from blame for arguably the greatest geopolitical blunder and subsequent debacle ever. It was their fault. They didn’t give us the accurate information we required. They kept too much from us and therefore we were helpless to assist them as well as we wished to.

On the other side Zelensky will say the West didn’t give him the degree of help he needed, that the numbers of this or that weapon system was inadequate. However, I think you know which side of this argument will receive the most attention and publicity in the West. Just as the western press and media swung into action to provide the required propaganda in favour of Ukraine at the behest of their state authorities, now, in this changed situation they will swing 180 degree to support the West AGAINST the now re-framed Ukraine.

Such are the vagaries of a press and media profession in the West which has grown far too close to those who now can exert enormous influence over them.

WELCOME TO THE MULTIPOLAR WORLD: THE GLOBAL SOUTH IS REFUSING TO BE BULLIED BY THE COLLECTIVE WEST

The authorities in both Russia and China are making it perfectly clear that they want nothing to do with the culture wars raging in the West, particularly those occurring in the USA.

Like it or not they are making a stand against what they see as a narcissistic, navel-gazing, rabidly self-interested, and entitlement-infused amorality masquerading as ‘human rights’.

Their way is the way of long-held traditions that have stood the test of time and bear a minimum of potential for endless division as one sector of society continually fights another. The tried and tested principles of the past are their choice, not the headlong flight into headlong chaos they see the West descending into.

In America there’s a phrase that has become well known in recent years, “My country right or wrong”. The same stance can be applied to the approaches in both Russia and China now. For them, unity is of paramount importance and the atomization of their societies in culture wars is abhorrent. They have both been through that with hugely tragic consequences and have no intention of returning to those days when certain dogmas were forced on people and entire lives could be cancelled at a stroke.

Of course, there will be those who are aghast that the freedoms of the West could be criticised in this way, aren’t we all to be able to let our freak flags fly and do exactly as we please within the law? But this flies in the face of the realities faced by nations who do not have anything like the privileges of wealth boasted of in the USA and those who are ambitious to be just like them. In those nations, relatively much poorer these are simply examples of excess and selfishness, of societies of empire, reaching a similar stage as that of Rome just as it fell.

Which way forward will we take as a species? Toward a complete anarchy of infinite diversity? Or on a more solid path where predictability and unity are emphasised above all else? On the former path, a constant updating of the rules will be required in each human mind. Do’s and don’ts will become minefields needing new maps on an almost daily basis. Many will find their minds swirling with confusion as they are castigated for using an inappropriate pronoun or turn of phrase or even for an action such as opening a door or clapping too loudly. The thought police will appear to be everywhere waiting to pounce, punish and regulate behaviour.

In the traditional societies where a lesser degree of ‘anything goes’ freedom exists predictability is far higher than in the ‘human rights are all’ West and or good reason. Access to relatively freely available income is also traditionally less. Absolute human rights have not been affordable as predictable behaviour and hard work, raising families, and solidarity to get through hard times together have been extremely valuable, indeed necessary, attributes. The affluent West has been able to exploit much in the so-called developing nations and use those resources as a springboard (along with their own natural assets) to future undreamed of by most of the rest of the world.

When everyone wants their own way no one gets their way. As we see now in western nations, affluence breeds a certain aggression where the fight to assert one’s own rights rather than looking for a communal solution emphasising unity as human beings, creates a social war at its extremes. Methods become increasingly divisive where those opposing or seeming to oppose such individuals are almost depicted as war criminals, as racists, fascists, and a great number of other terms denoting cancellation.

For those like me who were inspired by the enthusiasm for change in the West during the Sixties where there was an impatience to be rid of the stultifying norms of previous eras the about-face to once again embrace the traditional outlooks of parents and grandparents might feel quite disconcerting. There was also a surge toward socialism and other changes of system that were looked upon as radical at the time. Free love, the use of recreational drugs was much more attractive, and an aversion to the normal - find a job - work 9 to 5 - settle down - start a family and live as your parents did, was virtually anathema.

Those days of the Sixties are long gone. The surge of freedom-loving anarchism and relatively innocent experimentation hardly survived into the Seventies. The relative innocence and simplicity of just a few years before vanished like morning mist in the full glare of midday. Only a very few found a way to maintain themselves in anything like an ‘alternative lifestyle’. Most rejoined the more or less normal like of the majority sooner or later and mostly sooner rather than later.

Traditional forms of life tend to be the archetypal form whose shape we tend to migrate toward unless we find some kind of niche in the rarified stratosphere of eccentric living within the arts, crafts, therapy, or religious life.

For most of us, the more or less standard life structure, as usually visualised, will likely suit us best. We are none too concerned if those on the fringes act as they wish as long as they don’t impact society and the life of the majority in too extreme a way. But just this is beginning to occur in the West, particularly so in the USA. The fringes are demanding to be mainstream and some within the mainstream elites appear to believe their rights ought to be raised above those of the majority who remain within a generally traditional lifestream. This is precisely what the Russian and Chinese authorities do not want and will not tolerate.

A kaleidoscope of emotional choices where outcomes are of questionable benefit but may sadly lead to a cul-de-sac of unhappy chaos where society becomes riven by internal discord and social atomization makes for a very unhappy existence, potentially for all.

Youthful folly is a known phenomenon. We normally grow out of such follies, taken on when we feel immortal and resistant to all that may hurt us. Societies that never outgrow the follies it takes on, but remain searching for eternal youth will likely stay in the kindergarten stage of interminable and extremely shallow-minded chaos where maturity never arrives. The big question is, can such societies ever return to the stable foundations that once were the norm and which allowed for unimpeded growth?

Eurasian nations are determined never to have to find out whether such levels of chaos can be reversed. They have seen how much pain is involved in such a process. They have decided to retain the tried and tested ways of life they know bring important unity of purpose, predictability, and stability to life. Thus they aim to guarantee that such debilitating anarchy as seen currently growing in the West has no fertile ground to undermine their own nations.

In addition to all of the above these nations, long threatened by the dominance of western interests have sought some way to escape from an intolerable situation where their every move was scrutinised from afar with a view to taking action against them. The threats applied to any nation deviating from western needs were very real and have been realised often. War, death and destruction and the terminal fragmenting of societies and cultures have taken place at the hands of the aggressively self-interested hands of the western powers.

This is why we now see so very many nations of the Global South turning away from the West. Now a choice is open to them where in the past there were few to none but bow to the almighty USA and its proxies. Now that China is fully awake to its potential to change the way the world works along with Russia in a PEACEFUL and TOLERANT way, they are moving in their direction with alacrity.

This epoch-making time will shape all times to come. We stand on the threshold of a new age for our planet, one where agreement takes the place of aggression, peace over posturing, willingness to talk and understand over war. Cooperation, communication and tolerance for diverse peoples, cultures, modes of governance, religion and viewpoints where trade and investment create the world all idealists hoped for.

Welcome to our future.

Welcome to the Multipolar World.
