RUSSIAGATE

Russiagate was initiated as a means to mitigate the shame and embarrassment of Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) after Clinton was beaten to the presidency by an orange-faced reality-TV host and sociopathic business thug.

It has no basis in reality.

Trump is a geopolitical moron. We know this from his ex-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and also from his ex-Secretary of Defense James Mattis. The idea that Trump conspired with Russia to get elected has been claimed and debunked, mainly due to the long and failed effort by the Democratic Party to prove it.

The USA is not at war with Russia. At least not an announced war. Talks between officials go on all the time and any conversations with Russians either before or after any election are not illegal or unusual. But when people are given the impression that a nation is their enemy they will begin to accept that even innocuous occurrences are suspicious.

So it has been with Russiagate. The poison the Democratic Party has bled into American society for its own narrow purposes through Russiagate is wholly irresponsible and unforgivable. It has set back efforts to face the threat to humanity of climate change and a responsible, coordinated response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The world desperately needs unity now as some of the most powerful elites in America create ever more global division.

Another risible aspect of Russiagate were the supposedly hugely effective Facebook ads from Russia which turned the 2016 U.S. presidential election in Trump’s favor. These ads were totally irrelevant, covering a weird range of subjects nothing to do with the election. There is no possible way they could have affected the election even if people were stupid enough to look at them for more than a nanosecond. Additionally, are the Democrats really saying that these approximately $90k of non-sequitur ads were so incredibly wonderful that they outmatched the $100m they spent on the most polished ads they could create? It’s nonsense on its face.

Trump is an obnoxious thug, a sociopath. He has no scruples and is capable of any deceit, any falsehood in his overwhelming desire to aggrandize himself and attain the status his egomania claims he deserves. But there is zero hard evidence that he conspired with anyone in the Russian state for assistance and none was forthcoming. Not a shred of hard evidence has shown any assistance by the Russian state to Trump of any meaningful kind.

Naturally Russians and Russian state officials were pleased when Trump talked of establishing better relations with Russia. Why wouldn’t they be. They welcomed these warm words. Russians in general want peace and hope for good trading and diplomatic relations worldwide. War and the thought of war brings back the memories of over 27 million of their countrymen and women during the fight against the Nazis in WWII. To turn this urge toward peace into a threat as the Democrats do is a self-serving and deeply cynical ploy, putting their interests ahead of the entire world’s.

Trump has done nothing that is not detrimental to Russia, Russian interests and Russian allies since he has been in the White House. He has attacked every Russian ally in one way or another, he has provided lethal weaponry to Ukraine, Russia’s belligerent local foe and has increased sanctions on Russia time and time again.

It is clear Trump is no friend to Russia nor to her president Vladimir Putin. All that has occurred thus far that is positive is a couple of meetings resulting in nothing of substance. There is no geopolitical understanding in Trump’s brain. His impulses are solely concerned with self-interests.

It is almost certain Trump’s warm words towards Russia in 2016 were merely said with a view to some business ambition(s) Trump had there. Though undoubtedly a bankrupt for many years now Trump has a name and others have evidenced a willingness to bankroll him if they can use his name. The various 'Trump Towers' were not financed by Trump and are not owned by Trump. But he uses every asset including his name now in a desperate attempt to increase his wealth, status and power.

Trump is a wannbe dictator. He likes the power dictators wield. He undoubtedly believes the myths spun about Putin, that he is an all-powerful and merciless dictator. These myths arose after 2007 when Putin made it known that Russia would make her own way in the world and would not be subject to domination and control by any other nation or group of nations. He saw this trend as unhealthy. He believes in the inviolate sovereignty of nations and spoke out about the West’s attacks on nations in the Middle east as contravening international law. These are the reasons Putin has been demonized by western elites, whether those in the political or media worlds. There is no truth to the demonizing myths about Putin as there was so little truth concerning all other of the West’s regime change targets.

Russiagate is a construct. It is a fake narrative. It is a ploy.

But it has been incredibly effective in convincing many in the West to look ‘over there, not here’ for the troubles they face.
