The subject of this text is how the West became steadily more Stalinist & the related factors I see as the reasons behind the continual attacks upon Vladimir Putin.
The West is shutting down dissent, labeling it 'fake news' and indicating those voicing viewpoints not complying with accepted state narratives are motivated by evil intent and are enemies of western states.
These western states and their complicit press and media are increasingly becoming Stalinist in mentality when it comes to alternate views to their accepted narratives, especially so in the United States of America.
Putin has become the primary target for those wishing to close down alternate viewpoints and alternate visions of the future and the communications of those who agree with Vladimir Putin's world view..
The phenomenon of attacks on those who voice views which do not acknowledge western authority is not something new. Such attacks are not subject to alteration due to new facts arising or any changes which may occur. The attacks upon Putin, Russia and other states resisting the elites of the West have been continual and highly organized for many years now and will continue.
That is, these attacks upon Putin and others of a similar disposition will continue until the ultimate goal is reached, the undermining of any politician of note or government which continues to resist the efforts of the western elites to have things their way and in perpetuity, establishing full western dominance.
Western elites achieved the undermining of the USSR and Warsaw Pact states. It is true these societies were far from perfect and the resistance within them to the conditions in them was genuine. However, the fact cannot be escaped, that the West did e/thing possible to undermine them.
In the years after the Cold War western elites believed they had achieved the ultimate goal of ensuring Russia would remain weak and well within the control of western power. There was a period where both Yeltsin and Putin were seen as comfortable puppets in a terminally weak state.
In the years immediately after the end of the Cold War Russia was subjected to constant efforts by western entities to speed it to full capitalism where privatization and IMF debt kept it on track toward weak westernized fiefdom. Ex- Warsaw Pact nations had their political and journalistic elites replaced.
Replacing the media in ex-socialist states was an essential part of controlling the narrative re. the past of these states, always reporting this negatively and reporting positively only in relation to the West and the apparently innocuous materialist bonuses now available, the equivalent of Rome's bread and circuses.
All seemed to be going exactly as the western elites wished at this time. Russia had a host of western 'advisers' and privatizations were progressing. Ex Warsaw Pact countries were joining the EU & even NATO (this last despite assurances over East Germany given to Gorbachev).
Two events now occurred which would eventually put the USA and Russia on a collision course:
On September 11 2001 the attack upon the Twin Towers took place.
On February 10th 2007 at the 43rd Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany Vladimir Putin gave an address asserting the right of the Russian Federation to full sovereignty. (Video below.)
The effect of 9/11 was an immediate collective decision that:
a) There would be no limits of any kind, no barriers to previously unconscionable acts when it came to US national security.
b) That any individual or government that in ANY way seemed opposed to US dominance was a major target.
The decision to allow zero opposition to U.S. dominance after 9/11 and to flag all who appeared in any way in contravention of this decision led directly to all the consequences we have seen in the Middle East which continue to this day. And to the present attitude to Putin and Russia.
What needs to be understood is that the decisions made immediately after 9/11 are fixed in aspic and are EXTREMELY UNLIKELY ever to be countermanded. Therefore NOTHING Putin or Russia can do will make the slightest difference. All the myriad means of destabilization will continue.
What are the means the West has at its disposal to destabilize politicians/entire states & bring about obedience to US dominance in perpetuity? They are myriad, extremely well-funded and extremely difficult to counter as they target every possible area of weakness in target states.
The CIA & other intelligence agencies, backed by massive expertise, manpower & funding have the intent and capacity to work across almost every nation worldwide. In combination there are foundations and NGOs who work constantly with the same goals again with massive funding.
The snake of western intelligence agencies work across the widest possible spectrum of activities and targets within countries where they have flagged destabilization as a necessity. These activities target journalism and activism in particular spreading whatever discontent is possible.
This is not rocket science as most populations are much more concerned with their wallets, life chances and progressing the well-being of themselves and their families than paying attention to what changes another country or coalition of countries may wish to advance in their country.
Bring to mind that the journalists of privatized entities were the first to be replaced in ex-Warsaw Pact states. And of course the politicians who did not match western requirements were subjected to a sustained attack by these new journalists schooled in the West.
When the means above proved ineffective then other tactics were employed including economic arm-twisting, bribes, sanctions, color revolutions, sanctions and outright war. This is where we stand now and this is why it is so important that Vladimir Putin holds the line against the West.
Putin risks a great deal in liberalizing any aspect of political life in the Russian Federation. Every time such a liberalization occurs the elites of the West are ready to exploit it using the well-worn dirty tricks which have worked for them in the past.
9/11 brought about the ferocious attacks upon the Middle East and later Putin and for the reasons stated. They will not cease unless a most major change occurs which cannot now be foreseen.
This is why supporting Putin is so crucial. He is KEY to ensuring an alternative society to that engendered by western elites, one which upholds values of honor ensuring a sustainable future for ourselves and all who come after us.
